This victory is good. As it proves that if gamers just stop taking the shit from the big companies and tell them to stop their scummy tactics. that real change can happen. I hope this is a wake up call for gamers to actually start fighting back agiasn't these triple A studios and publishers. Hopefully, No longer will they stand for broken slop and excuses. We've been demoralized for too long and its time to show that the power is in the gamers. Helldivers 2 has been one of the best ways to show what the standard should be.

I would caution people to wait and see what Sony's next move is, they didn't technically say they will not be implementing the PSN requirement in the future, only that they are not rolling out the policy right now. Don't let up pressure on them till we get a concrete statement.

Not only that, i advise you to remain vigilant because just because SONY failed to push their BS, doesn't meant other companies haven't succeed already(I'm looking at EA and Ubisoft which require you to use their own launchers on top of steams and nobody says a thing about it.)

When I was a kid I got tired of always being disappointed, so I got depressed and assumed everything would go bad. I found just when I give up is when life seems to pity me and something goes right for once. Now I live my entire life that way, assuming everything will be as bad as possible. You should also thank Lord Gaben for allowing refunds. Sony didn't back-up necessarily because of the negative reviews. That's like 30%, of course, but the main reason was that they were losing money, and really fast.

To be clear, Sony wasn't region-locking the game intentionally, they definitely want the whole planet on PSN if possible. The problem was a PSN account was impossible to create in certain countries for reasons mostly outside Sony's control, making their PSN requirement poorly thought out more than anything. Steam then independently decided to block sales of the game in those regions to protect consumers from buying something they couldn't play (common Valve W).

Accessing the psn network is essentailly the same as accessing a website and logging into it. very few countries if any have PSN banned as an act of goverment. Sony set which countires acn and cannot have a PSN network login, this is 100% SONYs decision not to allow every country access. multipul baltic countries lost access to PSN when Sony banned Russia from psn. Then did nothing to change thier region login so the countries THEY made log in under Russia while not being Russia could access psn to continue playing. Estonia Belarus and a bunch more baltic countries dont have access because of something 100% in SONYs control that they havnt bothered to fix.

Be ever vigilant - Today, we have victory, but do not allow such a beacon of hope to be smothered by complacency. Arrowhead still has its own internal bugs and bots it needs to deal with, and Sony could always rise back up when we least expect it. Enjoy the Liber-Tea, but be prepared to deliver further Democracy.

Pulling the sales in those regions was Steam's decision, not Sony, and it was a major contributing factor to the pushback and win, as well as Steam's decision to relax its usual 2 hour limit on refunds. Sony were happy to sell the game to people who would not be able to play it in a few days, Steam felt this was unethical.

Everyone should go to their Steam review and edit it back to positive for Arrowhead's sake. It also shows Sony that we will reward their good behavior.
