A lot of true monbebes really support the group but it’s still sad to see ppl unstan because their favorite member got into controversy and or left the group. I’ve been stanning MONSTA X for a few years now and I must admit some of the stuff mentioned in this vid I wasn’t even aware of aka kpopnight. As much as I keep feeling sorry for the boys every time I hear things like these, I truly am proud of them. MONSTA X is not that kind of group where you can go around boasting to people about how popular and accomplished your faves are, because in terms of tangible achievements they don’t have much. Which is also why their fandom consists of a dedicated group of fans - the people who were willing to give the boys a chance, looking past the bad management, pushing out all the negative light directed towards the group by their own company, the media, and antis, and realising the enormous amount of talent, charms, and passion that the boys themselves put into their work. We are the ones who see how precious the boys are. They’ve got so much to offer. As a K-pop follower for almost 10 years, MONSTA X is honestly one of the most endearing groups I’ve ever come across. And it pains me that to this day, they continue to be plagued by hardships and controversies. Yet they continue to push themselves to make their fans proud of them. True heroes.
kingkyunie Like every other group, disbandment and prolonged hiatus are inevitable after some time. Especially because these things are mostly set by the agencies. But even then I have so much faith in these guys, that they will keep their fans close to them and keep the fandom alive for a long time to come. Idk how I just feel it ahaha. I don't know about right now, I guess we'll see it after their new promotional period starts again, but last year before Wonho left, they were in top 5 of all boy groups. They have done three very extensive world tours and have been super successful in the US, they have won music show awards over ten times. Among international fans all over the world, Monsta X is easily in top ten in terms of popularity, hands down. That's not nothing. Almost none of the 1st and 2nd gen kpop groups have been quite as popular internationally, and even among 3rd and 4th gen groups, there's still just a handful of groups that can compete against them on the same level. I have been a kpop fan since Girls' Generation debuted and I've been a Monsta X fan for 4 years. Although I absolutely loathe Starshit for all the things they've done and how pisspoor their management is, this entire time I've been very much aware how popular Monsta X was the whole time. After being an avid fan of groups like U-Kiss, UNB, Bigstar, Wonderboyz, Battle and Spica, Monsta X was on a whole another level, and a whole lot of the mistakes, pain and bullshit their management made and caused actually went unnoticed by casual kpop fans. Knetizen bullies are a big group, but in the end, most people don't bother reading their lies. It wasn't always because of THEIR existence that Monsta X failed to win awards, sometimes it just came down to pure damn bad luck. Only now that Wonho had to leave, many fans are turning back to see what actually has been going on within the company, because their insane decision to fire him could ONLY make sense if there was a whole pattern behind it, aka Starship being genuinely and consistently incompetent at what they are supposed to be doing. No smart/capable kpop company would let go of someone like Wonho.
I know monsta x all are very strong guys that can take care of themselves but I'm ready to fight anyone who mistreats them. Also, can't believe people made fun of Wonho's iconic fighter hair, he looked like an actual angel (well he always does but... you know what i mean:P). I didn't realise how much they've hurt physically & emotionally. I accidentally hooked a dnd friend on monsta x when Shoot Out debuted. I was sending EVERYONE I knew that music video and she fell in love with blond Hyungwon but ended up stanning Wonho the most. She was just as excited about them as I was and mx ended up as her 3rd fav kpop group ever. Then Wonho left. She quit supporting them all together since Wonho ended up her bias. She refuses to have anything to do with them, not because she believes the rumors but because she said it wasnt the same without Wonho. Itbothers me to this day and I don't wanna be that person who unfriends someone over music choices, but I still feel so betrayed. I can't imagine how mx felt themselves seeing their "fans" drop them over it. It hurt me just seeing my friend drop them, and it still hurts me to this day, months and months later. Mx deserves so much more love and respect.

It doesn’t phase MX because at the end of the day regardless whether fans leave them or not, they’ll continue to do it for the fans that are loyal and have stuck by their side despite the constant ups and downs and controversies.
I haven’t left them, but I can see where she’s coming from. I literally can’t listen to them anymore without feeling sad bcuz of what happened to Wonho. So I don’t. That doesn’t mean I don’t support them, I do, I still keep up with what’s happening, and try to vote in music shows, but I just don’t want to be in a constant state of sadness or anger. Of course is not the same without him, and I was waiting to “accept” what happened... but I realised that I’m never going to... Im gonna have to learn dealing with it... I really don't understand why they aren't more famous in K-pop. I mean, they're perfect. They all have personality and they don't look alike. They are really talented, their talent really stand out and their music and looks are great. I think Starship may have made mistakes like you say, but ultimately they do a good job managing them. I mean, their music is great, their music videos are awesome, their choreos are so cool, their style defined, the fashion style is consistent and usually flatters the members very well. They do interviews and are often featured in magazines and stuff. I guess they're just too manly for Korea. Notice how most popular boy groups are not the charismatic mature dark style but kind of colorful and even childish. I love Monsta X just the way they are, even if they're not "that famous" (They are, we're just too used to see K-pop MVs with shady millions of views nowadays) they definitely are pros. I wish Wonho could come back though
I feel very bad for Monbebe and Monsta X for what they went through. The fact that Starship made another group debut recently doesn't make me feel safe for them... I hope they'll all be good and healthy because they deserve it

Same tho, as much as I like Cravity, their debut kind of reminds me of when Monsta X debuted. Monsta X ended up becoming way more popular than Boyfriend and eventually they faded into the back. Cravity’s mv currently has 10 mil views and they only debuted a month ago. I feel like Cravity will end up becoming sse’s new money makers and sse is going to focus less on MX which makes me feel uneasy.
Monsta X became my ult group pretty much ever since I first became a monbebe (June 2019), I wish I've done more research on all of these things that they went through. Honestly, I had to hold back tears while watching this...I've never seen a kpop group get so much hate and backlash, and this is coming from an ARMY. My anger towards Starship grows more and more but at the end of the day it's pointless cause I can't do anything but support Monsta X, which in turn supports the company. These boys have had such an impact on me, I love them all so much and all I want for them is to be happy with themselves and their work. No Mercy was completely unecessary, the only benefits I saw from it is getting more supporters during predebut and them pushing themselves harder to improve, which hurt them in the process. I will be a monbebe for the rest of my life no matter what, these boys went through so freaking much and have only come out stronger than before. This world doesn't deserve Monsta X, and all the "fans" that left during their times of need are just horrible. We are a family that will only come back stronger than before.

What really pisses me off is how many times now we've had to see Minhyuk limping because Starship makes them work all year so an injury he never got to fully heal is constantly flaring up.

I feel like by the shoot out era monbebe have established themselves as a loyal and fairly non problematic fandom So I'm really happy they have much more power now
It's just really sad. MX was the group that got me into Kpop and its hard seeing them get attacked and fall apart due to overwhelming pressure, misinformation being spread around, and the incompetence of SS. And its really sad to me how MX have built themselves a style that really fits them only for SS to come in and change it up. As far from what I can tell, not just from MX, but also all of SS's other groups and artists, this company really does not understand the point of PR and how to highlight their artists. They just see them as commodities that are used to make money. They are also a group that has so much courage and determination. After everything they went through, being relatively disliked by the Korean Media, always being compared to BTS and being disrespected in western media, SS being absolutely useless, and receiving unwarranted hate from the public, and now even with the entire Wonho situation, they still stand firm and true to their path in developing as artists and providing us with great music.

i stan a number of groups but monsta x hits me different and i'm gutted i wasn't there from the start. the fact they have gone through so much, still produce quality music yet still deal with unwanted h*te from people is disgusting. i truly feel this is down to their company. they have not done enough for these boys to protect them and daresay they never will. they're mistreated even as 5 year old group and the pressure that's been put on their shoulders shows the lack of care sse has for them. and whatever they decide to do in the future i'll always support them. they''ll always be the best boys :(
In one of their monsta x rays, Hyungwon mentions that they only get 1-2 hours of sleep a day during their comebacks. It’s a shame they have to deal with all of this.

i stopped being a kpop stan in 2017 bc all my favorite groups were being treated similarly (i was a brand new monbebe right before unstanning).... so to come back to kpop to see that this is what my ult group went through before and during my time away and realizing this is why they're always so apologetic and seem embarrassed when talking to us just... makes me sad. they work so hard for barely any wins and they deserve better :(
I can't help but crying. I started stanning them during All In era. I was there because i am impressed by their music and bond. I regret not being able to support them before Dramarama era. But i decided that i will stay in the fandom, fighting for the boys. This fandom and the boys saved me, staying and supporting them is the only way to pay them back
The fact that I.M was so mercilessly outcatsed and just thrown into the show for pure shock effect was awful. I remember being so angry with everyone for especially Wonho because he was one of the kindest people on the show and he was one of the first to outcast I.M. He was a literal child and people attacked him for something he had no control over. The fact that I joined the fandom in early 2017 when their drop off and hate was at its peak is just....mind blowing to me to say the least. I loved their music and had no idea about all they went through and all the horrible backlash they got (for absolutely nothing most of the time) until a few months into me stanning them. And I hated it because they seemed so genuine and so hard working. That’s why I’m proud to call Monsta X my ult group since 2017. They’ve fought so hard for the loyal Monbebes who stuck with them and joined the fandom during hard times. And now we have to give back. By supporting them. And supporting Wonho.❤️ Also Wonho is probably one of the HEALTHIEST and FITTEST idols I had ever seen in the industry. I remember being shocked at how broad and muscled he was at first because I knew that companies usually didn’t let idols get that big even if idols wanted to. He studies healthy body building and healthy nutrition and he knows how to take care of his body. He’s probably one of the most bodily aware idols in Kpop history. And I also loved him for that, and loved that for *him*. He is a sweetheart, a man who knows how to take care of himself and eat right, knows how to healthily work out, and is selfless and hard working in everything he does. He worked very hard for his body and I respected that so much. The fact that idols get so much hate for showing skin is infuriating to me. Even though his company forced him to reveal his body most of the time, if he has the body and he’s confident in himself, then he should be entitled to flaunt it because he worked hard. The nerve of some people I swear to god. Korean fans are never satisfied. You can’t be too skinny, but you can’t be to muscly or curvy. You’re not allowed to show off your body but you’re not allowed to cover up all the time either. Like make up your god damn minds for god sakes. Baekho from Nu’est got the exact same backlash. K-fans said he was “too big” and needed to slim down.

Kpop industry is show business. Companies and idols do what it takes to rake in the sales and viewership. However, since idols are humans, fans grow attached to them. Likewise, they reveal their true selves thru live/reality type shows. As they grow bolder, they might even throw shade about the company, as some seasoned idols groups have been known to do. MX is one of those resilient groups that I hope will achieve success for many more years, even after enlistment.

I joined the fandom sometime before the connect came out... It was my first comeback. I did think it was a bit weird that they released the comeback trailer but then the MV was way different and had nothing to do with it, but only now am I making sense of it. Also, I watched all of No Mercy as soon as I became a Monbebe, and I did think the whole thing was staged.. a few parts just didn't make sense now that I know the members well, also, Changkyun suddenly joining was in no way a coincidence, they used him for clout (also, how did they not know each other as trainees? They all acted like it's the first time they met.) It makes me really sad. Seeing as how they abandoned Boyfriend once Monsta X became popular, it's pretty obvious SS only cares about money, not their idols.

I’ve just become a fan of monsta x in the summer of 2019 so I don’t know too much about them but it makes me really sad to hear all this. I always viewed them as an extremely popular kpop group and to hear that a lot of people saw them as an “failing group” really surprised me. Hell, I used to hate kpop but then I discovered their band and they are the reason why I like kpop now and they will always be my favorite group. They have honestly helped me so much in life with their music and even just funny compilations of them, that it hurts to hear how mistreated they have been. I hope that one day they can read this comment just to know how much I, and every other TRUE monbebe loves them. I think they are a great group! They deserve all the positivity they get. Their songs are amazing, both English and Korean. It is unfortunate that record or entertainment companies seek to keep control of their performers through intimidation and hiring people to do and say negative things about their entertainers in order to keep control of them. Sistar and especially Monsta X put Starship on the map! Until the Korean people start standing up for their idols, instead of bashing them it will continue to be a problem in Korea! I will always like Monsta X! I'm curious about their contract. Did they have lawyers of their own negotiate for them versus the companies lawyers? How much do they make on their tours? Just curious! Is the game more important then their physical and mental health?
Honestly, I saw Hero’s my when it came out years ago. I assumed that Monsta X was a popular group like BTS, but I really wasn’t into kpop at the time. I was a anime kid for years lol 😂 but to know that they were getting hated on, and the trash survival show that created them makes me upset. I’m glad Wonho came back, and that Monsta X is popular now, but if they do *anything* to Cravity and Monsta X I’m hiring a hitman
As cringe-y as it sounds, I don't care about what the haters, I will support these boys and they are very special to me. They are my main and will always be. Either they are famous or not, they are doing their best-est for monbebes and that is enough.
Every K-pop group for sure getting different mistreatment especially Monsta x , I remember there own cherography was stole and give them to someone else in music show . Dang ! They do that in blood , sweat and tears but I do not know if their company that protect them and protest that . Another one , Every Mama performance sometimes short performance ? What ? Monsta x are the global performer , Deserve to be long performance because there are the kpop group will bring hype and outstanding of all . And sometimes they got to so overwork especially in world tour . I don't remember all there past schedule but I think just 2 or 3 days per city and I think just little bit rest . Monsta X faced many obstacles and it is so hard for me to not to cry everytime I see them smiling together. I feel so relieved whenever they laugh, smile and enjoy things together. I hate it when one of the most hardworking group receives ample of mistreatment. I just wanna throw a mountain over those people who didn't believed in them, who mistreated them, who dissed them. My friend went to their concert in Taiwan (2018), and she said that I.M was telling the fans to not leave them cuz they are actually really scared, and how they will kept on working hard to not let us down. And only 'til today I know the reason behind his words. :'(((
God, MX has come so far and I'm so damn proud of them. All these lowkey pissed me off and gave me another reason to dislike Doni and Coni. Those guys dont have any boundaries and i could see Minhyuk struggling not to let his discomfort show. Body shaming or any kind of shaming like that on a public program where the idol is not in a position to speak out is so shit. I love the new weekly idol MCs much better, especially because Eunhyuk is/was an idol so he's aware of the boundaries he shouldn't cross. Also, the other MC (always forget his name) is super respectful and corrects himself when he thinks he did something wrong. Gshahdgs i could go on forever but my point is that I'm happy MX has come this far for the ones who supported them. I've been spread their English album as much as possible to my friends (they refuse to listen to anything that isn't English:" ) and they seem to enjoy it. Hopefully it's all up from here for the boys.

I respect you so much for making this video. Im a new monbebe so when I saw Monsta X admit on weekly idol that they weren’t allowed to leave their dorm even a year after their debut i started to do more research and educate myself on starship’s mistreatment. I think it’s extremely important that Kpop fans educate themselves and learn about the way their faves are treated and say something against abuse and exploitation.
Even though I know all of these. But when I saw this video it reminded me of all of the past struggles MX went through.. Most frustrating time for me was when All in n Fighter was criticized for nothing.. Literally nothing.. I was about to give up hope. But um glad I didnt I couldnt.. Um hella proud of these boyzz.. Monsta x ray happened when both MX n I were Struggling since then the bond got ever so stronger.. Monsta X Fighting.

I've been in the Kpop scene for a while but I was just a listener. I was never the type to stream or follow up on the idol's stuff for them to get wins and such. Became a monbebe at the beginning of this year and I have to say...this is the best fandom I have been apart of and I have NO IDEA why they're so under appreciated in Kpop. I have never streamed before or voted for music shows, but I'm doing it for this comeback coming up bc MONSTA X DESERVES IT!!!

I’ve been a fan since 2016 and I had no idea that all of this was happening. I mean I knew they were heavily underrated and starship is a hoe but I didn’t know that the children in korea were being so terrible to them. I feel so bad and I just wish they knew how much their actual fans love them. I always stream the shit out of their albums so hearing about the numbers in Korea makes me so sad because they don’t count international streams which sucks
man, I'm not a monbebe but I listen to Monsta X frequently and really enjoy their music and some videos about them here and there. But this breaks my heart, when I got a little in to them, I really thought they never received hate because how good and talented they are. I've been a fan since around Hero/Stuck, and have seen all of this happen in real time and let me tell you it hasn't been easy, and it's also why I love them so much. Because they keep pushing through and doing their best, regardless of how they've been treated and what people were saying about them. I think a lot of Monbebe don't actually know just how much they've gone through, and a lot of non-stans dismiss them and say they had it easy because they were on a reality show... If they only took a little time to actually know the whole story. They are still the netizens punching bags, but they are well liked by fellow Idols and people who work in the industry for being polite, respectful, and hard working, and they have a big international fanbase that loves them. I just wish they would be shown some more respect by the kmedia and by the "higher-ups". Anyway!! Aww tysm, i’ve only been stanning them for a little over 7 months and ik the things that they’ve been through and it angers me that other fandoms put mx down so quickly and discredit their hard work without realising how much they’ve been through (and this stuff is only on the surface) god knows what else they’ve gone through behind close doors... I hope from this video others can realise mx haven’t had it easy but they are strong and always do their best no matter what!!

They deserve so much better. They deserve loyal fans who don’t up and leave over dumb stuff and they don’t deserve to be trashed by people hiding behind computer screens. They work their asses off. As angry as I am over Wonho being forced to leave, I’m staying to support the other guys. And if Wonho comes out as a solo artist, I’ll be right there jamming out to his music. The more I learn about Netizens in Korea (and really just fans in general), the more I feel sorry for Korean celebrities. Just a single lie can rip everything they work so hard for away from them.
I just want to say that this is kind of shocking to me, a Monbebe since No Mercy. I remember crying over IM's sadness and falling in love with the members. They've been my favorite group since their formation, and I never thought that they were struggling THAT hard. I knew about the phones and stuff, but how can people in Korea be so harsh to them? I always thought they were so talented, I guess it blows my mind that people can dislike them that much. I did and always will be patient and support them when they need it!
I feel that international fans are much more apologetic and understanding with Kpop idols/groups compared to Korean fans. In Korea idols are kept on a radar and when they’re caught doing very human mistakes- it’s taken as a scandal. Not saying ALL Korean fans are like this but I feel that’s it’s more common compared to international fans. (I hope this made sense). I’ve been a Monbebe since 2016 and it’s just something that I’ve noticed as an international fan.
I agree, it's very confusing on how the Korean fans are so hard on the idols while the fans overseas worry for them alot. While I'm not saying the Korean fans don't support them, just some of them are very brutal.
You know at some point I just realized there's more close minded person in Korea than Internationally, cause maybe because of their conservative culture and beauty standards..

it still hurts me that during their first visit on weekly idol in 2015 that all changkyun wanted to do is see sunlight in which the host's joked as "idols wish PHOTOSYNTHESIS"
It breaks my heart knowing how much pain they’ve been through and just how much they’ve been overworked. Companies and people sometimes forget that these idols are human just like we are. They expect perfection and unstoppable work but these boys deserve better than that. Monsta X is so humble and it’s true that they’re so apologetic. In their acceptance speeches they always ALWAYS thank monbebe. They scream that they love us and they thank us again and again. I have looked up to Monsta X for a few years now, and they quickly became my ult group. Their personalities, smiles, energy, effort, hard work, all of it was infectious. They’re genuine idols and they’re hardworking, they bring their 1000% for every comeback. Knowing all of this breaks my heart, but it honestly pushes me to fight harder for them. We will not drop them, we will not make them feel like all their hard work is not enough. So let’s keep supporting the boys Monbebe, let’s make them proud.

No mercy was a pain to watch gosh it was brutal and Mbb at the debut Trespass till Shine forever were divided into multi idol supporters but there were those who supported the whole group and were peacemakers between these fighting clans but all came together to support somehow. But the worst was the hate I.M got for debuting in the group man that was some harsh words said that time, I'm happy he is now loved by all. also, the “Sorry Sorry” dance break incident which woho revealed in my opinion i think MX got greylisted by the industry.
