It is not uncommon for us Christians, who may not always have the philosophical background and theological understanding of our Church's Fathers, to, often times, misinterpret concepts and words, giving them a completely different meaning from what they truly stand for or even, sometimes, a borderline opposite one, sadly, resulting to the distortion of these concepts' contents.
One of such concepts is that of "theosis", a concept which has, at times, been given multiple and often times contrasting meanings, based on the relationship we have with God. What do we mean when we say "theosis"? How can we reach theosis? These are all questions that can only be answered through the theology of our Church's Fathers and not just speculations and assumptions, which more so undermine rather than support this effort towards theosis.
