@@ronanyomu5967 So apparently the lions on these big nature reserves are so used to vehicles with people in them that they will just ignore you as long as you don’t get out or mess with them. They basically see the car as another big elephant that’s untouchable.

Ultimately either way the cubs are dead. If they fight they'll lose and the nomads will find them on their own. If they run the nomads will find the cubs on their own. This is why wild dogs are my favorite wild predators. They may be ruthless with their pray but they don't kill their own

The answer is that they've never hunted a truck with many mouths . According to a guide the lions think the entire truck is a living being and it's not in their DNA to eve see it as food.

They probably have the numbers. Big males hardly ever retreat unless they instinctively know their lives are in danger.

I was thinking the same. If the punks fought with the teen boys and mothers who would and to protect cubs and maybe some others would join in, they would easily win. But I guess it’s not lion way to be so strategic. The punks need to decide for themselves if they think they should fight and others might join if they are nearby (but more often than not it would be separate fight where mothers protect the cubs and usually loose and sometimes not even fight). I wished they would rather have taken over the Hollywood pride with no males and cubs. I don’t know why that didn’t happen since they already were there.

I think it has something to do with the females wanting the strongest lion protecting them.

@@catherinedobson9843 No ! Take over means cubs under two must die ! Lionesses will fight to death for their cubs.

They are habituated since they are cubs (The lionesses show their cubs are just a weird moving object and are no danger And when they are old enough the vehicles are allowed to stay at a sighting for a long so they will grow up with this weird moving object (the vehicle ) around them ) That's why there is no reaction from the pride and older cubs (you will see the younger cubs can get a fright if they see/hear moving in the vehicle (aka the humans) So the humans inside the vehicle are safe (Would not be the same story on foot ) Hope this made sense and helped :)

It comes down to the Lions themselves. Every lion, like a human, has a personality and certain characteristics. The Punks may not be that aggressive or great frighters which is why they may be running. Now had this been Mr. T and Kinky Tail they would have ripped those 4 lions to shreds. As the Mapogo lions were known to be very aggressive and great frighters and hunters.

So long as you sit still inside the car the lions will think you and the car are just one big animal not to be mess with. Lions don't normally attack humans because we don't taste good and have very little meat on us.

Because females don't have a chance against male lions (as the Hollywood pride found out), and the male lions of the MK pride are "elderly". If the MK males were young, maybe they would've given the Nomads a Ukraine vs Russia, but they are beyond fighting years, and no longer young enough to battle it out. The only chance is if the females combine their strength with the 2 males to fight it out to a POSSIBLE draw, but you'd need more females + the teens to do it.

“Because females don't have a chance against male lions” There are some cases where females who fight to protect cubs win if there are enough of them and this is a big pride (but the cubs weren’t introduced yet…) Numbers often make what you lack in strength since it’s very difficult to fight in many sides at once. And the females fighting with males would have great changes. There are I think 9 females/ teen males (and cubs hidden) so lots of lions if they all fought together. There are just three nomads so they could not win against 2 males and the other 9 if all fought together. The issue more is that’s it’s not the lion way. They don’t think strategically and there is not enough cohesion that makes everyone fight together to protect the whole pride. The males fight alone for territory and females fight to protect the cubs (there are some exactions but not often). Or both flee like here (maybe the new mothers fight for the cubs later but if it’s just the two alone there is no change).

@@jamesmoore8156 that’s what I thought, they don’t look old enough to take over a pride yet the video keeps referring to them as big males etc. Also the punks don’t seem to have big manes considering their age so I thought it may be something to do with the area.

If a pack of Hyenas see a group of females they will still attack if they have numbers. If they see a group of males, they nope right out of there real quick. The males have the strength.

They got their monicker of king because their manes look like crowns.

Lions have different personalities, they can be very aggressive or prefer not to fight. Coalitions of two prefer to run for safety than risk injury. If there were 3 or 4 together than the fight would be on. Not sure why the punks are running.
