The only thing I modded on my raptor is fog lights and did the rear wheel wells this truck don’t really need anything else it’s beautiful the way it comes
You know, before I watched this video, I knew something was up with your Raptor and I had no idea you color-matched the fenders until you mentioned it. I think its a great look!
I love my AMP research steps... i added a kill switch so i can leave them down when washing, or up when offroading. I haven't had issues with them freezing up in the ND winters. But I did have issues with slush and ice building up and making it to heavy to pull back up to the body. I just scraped off the slush and ice and no problems. Ive had mine for over 8 years now, no issues, well worth the money!
Amp research released dual motor sidesteps for that exact reason got em on my brothers 2019 Ram and no issues of sticking or freezing over plus added insurance of if one motor goes out the other pulls it’s weight
Great looking Raptor. I myself love that color the best. I would paint the flares, black wheels, tires and remove the steps too. Besides that I would add a kick ass sound system because I want to take my truck to México to visit my family and music is part of our life and so are trucks. Great mods though some of them are a personal taste but overall it looks way more aggressive yet refined. The Raptor is a Super Truck that can easily be sold for super car money, it truly is that capable at what it does that it deserves such label
The front is awesome.... For those who know... Appreciate it. For those who don't know, it doesn't matter. I can't afford the front bumper and will just upgrade my XLT to a stock raptor grill. We all have our struggles. The off axis turning in the back and stability you should look into air bags. Great idea to soften the ride and to gain handing performance in the rear.
This truck is absolutely beautiful. I am really sorry to see you selling it. I doubt next owner will take a better care of it then you did/do. Stay strong
My thing has been the older Ford trucks for a long time, so the newer body styles have never really registered with me and especially the Raptors. That said, the way you set this truck up is very well done and makes it look good. Only thing I'd change, and you even talked about it, is the front bumper. I'd have left the OE one on. BTW - with as many truck shows as I attend, the "rhinestone jeans" description was so on point that I found myself laughing...
Damn this raptor is legit; balls to the wall in mods but tastefully configured. I'm a big fan of this thing and I would be interested in seeing footage of it being tuned however unicorn e92 m3 is equally appealing. Loving the content Matt keep it up!
Only mod I would do is RPG Bump/Brace kit and would consider is Deavers +2(stock height)... I like the rake... I like the look of that ADD bumper and ADD has a new one that does not require frame cutting and relocating different intercooler, but good with stock bumper with Baja Designs Fog Pocket lights in place... no paint matching wheel arches... no window tinting... no tune... your truck came out nice, but I think the RPG Bumpstop/Brace kit was unnecessary since you were not planning to ever take it off-roading.
My white 2018 super cab raptor has never been washed. Its been damned dirty, but sooner or later it rains. Have a little green algae in some of the body seams. Pain was and almost is flawless, some vague brush scrapes in clear coat. No mods at all, it is great the way I ordered it. It has everything except the carbon fiber junk and sun roof. I never opened the sun roof on my previous 150, a Platinum crew cab. It is really muddy right now, but it is raining and I will drive home from work in pouring rain and it will be clean enough to head to Canaan Valley this weekend to refresh the mud. Oh, and the optional front axle is GREAT!
Important thing to note is that the tint doesn't effect the radar detector only because of the kind of tint it is. It needs to be ceramic for it to NOT effect a radar detector!
LOOKS CLEAN BRO.. I WANTED THOSE STEPS...BUT DECIDED TO KEEP THE OG... IT HELPS WITH PARKING...LOL WHEN PPL PARKED NEXT TO ME AND OPEN THE DOOR... THE SIDE STEPS STOPS THE DOOR FROM DIGGING MY TRUCK...HAHA
Factory exhaust sounds as good as you're going to get. Good advice there. I'm not a big fan of the color matched flares, but that's just personal preference. I'm also not too into the front end... I'm fine with the stock one on that. But I like the wheels / tires and the ride height and all of that. I enjoyed the video.
Installed Borla ATAK exhaust on my ‘17 Raptor and that is good as you’re going to get! I drive the hell out it like it should be driven and like to hear what the engine is doing. Married up a Roush CAI with it and it’s all music to my ears on and off road. Many 4get that this is an OFF Road vehicle and Ford Performance paid a lot of attention to detail with that in mind. If you want a high end truck designed purely for the pavement, get the new Limited and personalize it with the “pretty” truck mentality that still performs well.
Why was it about 9k to do the bumper and intercooler upgrade? Isn't the bumper like 1500 and intercooler 1300 plus 250 for the bracket to relocate sensor so that would put you at about 4500 with install? I'm about to do this exact modification so trynna get a good understanding. Thanks!
I thought about amp research powered steps on my Raptor but realizing how effective the stock steps are at preventing inept careless drivers when parking and exiting from the heaps from swinging their car doors at my truck, those turkeys can watch their doors get damaged on the extra rough powered coated stock steel step edge...
Tint is a must here in Florida! I have lumars 5% on my sides and back. Front have a clear tint with a 5% strip. There are some great exhaust options for the raptor.
Tonneau cover - the Bakflip MX4 version has a different seal at the tailgate to the Ford version, so you can close the tailgate with the cover in place.
Do you get any rub with those tires at all? I want the same wheel and tire combo but I don't want to have any issue with rubbing on front bumper or back of wheel well. Hope you have an answer for that so I can pull the trigger and order the same wheel and tire combo.
I didn't have any rubbing with them even before I did the leveling kit and rear suspension. They are really close in overall diameter to the stock 17s.
Is there a module or a hack to lock the rear differential in 2wd? I test drove a Raptor with intention to but but was very disappointed ( didn't buy it ). The E-LSD is extremely slow to respond and with all TC off its a one wheel peel machine. I know there is no aftermarket LSD available..
If you don’t mind me asking, what do for work that allows you to afford the truck and all of the expensive modifications? I’m asking because I graduate from college soon and will be looking for a new job shortly thereafter. I’m hoping to get a Raptor in a few months, and want to make some mods as well. Thank you!
If those side steps are anything like the ones on my Harley Davidson F-150 (which they look identical) there should be an “Always Down Mode” you can set it to 🤙 other wise. Nice Truck
Should have left the gloss black grill. It looks killer in that blue. The back Appliqué looks awesome. That thing is giddy ugly too. Did they take the rail gate thing off to paint it?
I like everything, except the color matched fenders. Prefer those to be OEM black. Same way with Jeep Wranglers - prefer the black versus painted; looks more rugged than luxury that way and also serves the purpose of absorbing rocks or nicks without worrying about pain chips.
All you need now are the Carbon Fiber Hood and Fender Vents and Door Pillars. Too bad you're selling it. I consider that the do it all vehicle. I love mine. I'd sell the white one and keep that one. It looks way better.
You should start buying all sorts of cars, giving them the "OG" treatment, selling them and making some money for yourself! The truck is legit, as was the S2K!
I can definitely see an "OG" spec being a thing in the future and have a great reputation for it, dare I say something like RWB and Porsches. Extreme example I know, but I hope that paints the right picture. You know there's gotta be other people out there who would love your setups.
Good day/evening from Canada, great videos. Definitely have my attention on the Deaver leaf springs. Roads are pretty bad were I work, and the Raptors rear end definitely comes alive going around bends in the road(potholes etc). So I’m going to upgrade my 2018. You were saying something about DLC coating? Is that something that has to be applied just over top of the whole leaf spring assembly? Or does the whole assembly have to be disassembled leafs apart from one another then coated? Then reassembled. You were saying it’s not that bad??? I’m keeping it all original ride height. Please n thank you in advance. Cheers🍻🍻
The issue is that you have to buy the springs from Deevers, send out somewhere to have them coated, then sent back to Deevers for reassembly. At least I think that's the process. You'd want to call RPG to ask them how they have it done. I never headed down that path.
Thank you for your time, I had a feeling you were going to say that(disassembling them). Unfortunately having them sent back isn’t a option to Deaver, the Canadian duty etc piles on quick$. Hope you’ll reconsider keeping the pet monster(Raptor). Good luck with your decision(s). Cheers 🍻🍻🍻😘
what's your view on waxing a new paint job on a car? my e92 just got back from the shop and I really don't wanna risk damaging the paint with bird droppings or tree sap just because I don't have a layer of protection on it
Obsessed Garage interesting, I noticed something weird though, the newly painted panels feel much softer and almost stickier than the factory paint, does that mean it is still curing?
One of the best looking Rapper I have seen, n u did a very good job on the video 👍, ps i can here u say aaaaa he gave me a thumbs up mojo im not that guy 😆
Hahaha only names Northern states when he’s talking about cold weather?! How about us up in northern Alberta where it‘ gets wayyyy colder 🤣 my power running boards have yet to freeze even in minus -30
All those mods and havent tuned it. My man 510 wheel hp and 900plus torque doesn't get you wet and motivate you I'm not sure what will. But why is the question?
