And always remember: if nautical nonsense is something that you wish, go out at sea, look for the 3 trees, and you may just find a pineapple sitting under the sea...
even if you’ve never listened to ween’s music before, i still humbly encourage you to listen to this entire album. it’s more than “the album that inspired spongebob” or “the album with ocean man”. legit EVERY song on the album is a banger. “the golden eel” is a personal favorite of mine. one of my top favorite albums of all time. and rip stephen hillenburg, can’t believe how far time flies, it’s been nearly half a decade since we lost him ;;
The Mollusk and Quebec are probably two of the greatest alt-rock albums ever made. i don't think any other band could pull off something like buckingham green, ocean man, and she wanted to leave; three completely different songs all complementing each other, ending with such a good closer. both albums got slept on *way* too hard.
Despite how much of a monster we turn SpongeBob into, he's still the lovable sponge we know. This even applies to his friends: Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr.Krabs, and more. And there's a certain someone we can thank for making them the lovable characters they are, even if we make them into monsters, sexualize them, or anything else that changes what they're supposed to be. Thank you Stephen, for making the best characters to ever be seen...... ....on TV.
"WE'LL BE RIGHT..." "ACTUALLY, YOU KNOW WHAT?" "THERE'S SOMETHING I NEED TO DO." "FOR THE PERSON WHO TOOK THE QUALITY OF HIS SHOW TO THE GRAVE." "STEPHEN HILLENBURG, THIS IS FOR YOU." "YOU WERE #1." "- V.A.L."
idk how im just finding this video now but good lord. made me cry for the first time in weeks. spongebob & ween both hold an extremely special place in my heart for very personal reasons and this video waltzed right on into that special place. spongebob has gotten me thru some of the worst moments of my life, and the mollusk has recently become a sort of comfort album for me. all i can rlly say is thank u for making this video, i wish i had found it sooner but im glad i did at all :•)
Reading this made my day :)) I'm so glad, I was worried it was gonna come across as corny when I initially made it but, I'm so glad it's enough to make ppl feel sentimental. SpongeBob has had a huge impact on me growing up and Stephen Hillenberg was an idol to me, and always will be. Ween also had a huge impact on me during some rough times in life. I'm just glad I'm able to do them all justice collectively :)) it's all I want.
I don’t know why, but the song combined with the empty backdrops makes me feel so very sad. I know part of it is the context (RIP Stephen), but even without it, it still kinda hurts.
I come back here occasionally to watch the video that got me into WEEN. Genuine exceptional stuff, broski. Also for anyone who hasn't listened to WEEN, Check out Quebec, The Mollusk and The Pod.
I don't comment often but I just wanted to say that you did a very good job on this. SpongeBob is a very dear show in my heart and this tribute is everything I could have ever asked to honour the impact it had on me and millions of other people. It's been a long while since something related to this show has made me this emotional, and I thought I'd commend you for that.
Gee. So nostalgic. Amazing to know that even V.A.L. Pays respects to stephen Hillenburg. I wonder if VAL would ever develop feelings? I know she became sentient.
I want to say, thank you fore this amazing video. The editing is PERFECT you understand the vibe completely. Props to you the nostalgia is worth more than a Mollesk
Hi, I am interested in using part of this for a video essay on the Mollusk and its inspiration of SpongeBob. I would obviously credit you within the video and the description if you were okay with it.
