As a Feyenoord fan i’m happy that FC Groningen is back at the highest level. It’s a big club, with history, a big city, great fans and character/legends within the club. Welcome back!
As a Ajax fan i agree. Happy with the teams that will join us next season. Willem 2 also absolute class club to join us. Wouldnt be mad at roda joining us neither but out of all these clubs Groningen just belongs in de Eredivisie.
Beautifully captured! Groningen was 14th after 14 matches. Then went almost unbeaten, what an insane comeback. The city was buzzing, the entire day and the entire night. Like one big dream, and watching it back is extremely special. I'm happy this club is getting some recognition.
Robben exactly understood this moment was not about him. Such a class person for giving the heroes of the moment their due spotlights by just doing what he was asked to do: present the trophee.
Hello Fusion Josh! I would like to say first that I love your videos and your reports on the atmosphere as you explore the different football cultures. If I can, I'd like to suggest a perhaps overlooked game with alot of passion in Germany! Alemannia Aachen has recently promoted from the amateur division to the 3. Liga for the first time again in about 11 years. The last few games they've rallied around the 30k number at every home game. They are known to have one of the better fansides of the entirety of Germany. Alemannia play the cupfinal against Bonner SC in 3 days on May 25th. I'm sure the match will be electric as both sides have fanatic supportergroups. Maybe something to check out! Love your vids, cheers lad
Roda is currently in the midst of an absolute bottle job. Yesterday they lost 3-1 against 8th place NAC in the promotion play-offs. Play-offs are always crazy here so anything can happen in the second game but so far it doesn’t look good for Roda
Thank you for your massive support Josh. Super glad we're back in the Eredivisie after just one year. The moment the final whistle took place was pure magic, everyone invading the pitch. What a run it has been throughout the season.
it was truly an unforgettable and unbelievable evening and what a great video this is🫶 I work there in one of the yellow vest in the z-side for safety and tried to spot you, unfortunately you were on the other side of the stadium and on the side, But this worked best for the video in terms of camera shots and getting everything on camera, loved the moment with Arjen Robben😍
What a gauntlet though. 3 2 legged Ties and after being so close to going up, they will feel so down and low. Will be hard for them to now lift them selves up and get ready for NAC Breda
It's funny how the supporters have changed their mindset, last season they kept throwing fireworks on the field cause their team was shit and now they all seem united.
Thank you very much for your legendary report of a legendary football match, Fusion Josh! I hope you liked your stay in our city. Greetings from Groningen!
NAC? A giant pub around a football field. Feels more like carnaval than a football match. NAC? A joke. Come on Cambuur. Come on Roda. Succes from: 🤍 💚 🤍
The empty seats you see above the ultras are because most people who have a ticket on the second ring of the stadium will move down to the ultras section
@@Ivargro klopt helemaal, na die stadionblunder van de omroeper is het hele team in elkaar gezakt, ben zelf ook sprakeloos nu. Geen eens meer boos maar weet oprecht niet meer wat ik moet zeggen
I am FC GRONINGEN fan from Mongolia. Thank you for this goosebumping video that showed great moments from very close range. I was confident that FC will back to the eredivisie again this year.
As a PSV fan i am also happy that Groningen is back where they belong, you cant think of a Eredivisie season without the green and white. Beautifull footage Josh, well done brother!! Congratz to all who support FC Groningen. Josh you the man bro, thank you for giving the Dutch teams/fans the credits they all deserve!! I actually think the Dutch league is underrated from the outside world. Love the content you're creating, keep it up brother!!
Think of poor Roda .... They thought they were there, the week before... they also had a 'pitch invasion'.... In the Euroborg, at the final match, they SAW what it means to play, when the stakes are THIS high! The Stadium echo'd with passion and emotion! One gigantic crowd, stampeding on the stands!! And after the final whistle... Roda saw what a REAL Pitch invasion looks like.... ...and realized: we cannot top this, we are not worthy. Cracked, battered and demoralized,,, NAC(no8!) totally demolished what was left of Roda, with a 3-1, and 0-5 in the Playoffs... But you saw it in Groningen already: What happened to that team that stood in the top2, the entire season??? Really. whát the sandwich-fk happened??? And to think, the Roda-coach, Bas Sibum, got the award for 'best KKD-coach 23-24'..... phoei... That award really should have gone to Peter Maes from Willem II, who became champions.... if not Dick Lukkien from Groningen, who crawled back up from P14... to P2 in the end...
Great video! Very quickly posted too! Fantastic footage, right in the middle of it all. Great match by Groningen, and absolute amazing atmosphere by the fans!
13:53 That 2nd goal... Ball goes in...to Tom van Bergen... one of the Youth-players from Groningen... He picked his goals along, but THAT assist shows what kind of a Diamond he is: Not selfish; eye for his fellow players.. He makes the turn, shields the ball, gives it off to Schreuders, who can almost piss it in, freely!! Thats a GOOD forward!! ...also Tom van Bergen also gave the sharp pass on the 1-0, which was headed onwards by Hove!
As a Groningen fan its amazing to see the game of our lifetime through the eyes of a foreign youtuber, keep up this work and i hope we see you next season! (i was that ballboy next to you during the match :)
I am not even an football fan, but live in the beautifull city of Groningen. Seeing this epic video I think I will become a fan of the FC! Great footage Josh!!! Thank you,
I am from the nearby town of Veendam, from the same province, sadly my club (SC Veendam) went bankrupt in 2013, so all Groningers are now supporters of FC Groningen. This was totally insane, considering this was a match in the 'second!" division, but if you look at the city, the stadium, the amount of supporters, then even supporters from the big clubs like PSV, Ajax, Feyenoord, and even our direct 'competitors' SC Heerenveen are happy that FC Groningen is back in the primary league. Thank you so much to these supporters from these clubs as well, with a special mentioning for SC Heerenveen supporters. Roda JC sadly didn't cope wel with this loss, not only did they not promote the match before that, and they were already celebrating it, but they also got this loss made them loose the direct promotion. But to be honest, seeing the gameplay, FC Groningen was constantly on the upper hand and Roda JC could barely do anything. In the playoffs it probably was still in their minds because they lost the first match against NAC with 3-1 and then later even at home they lost again, with 0-5 to NAC. The supporters there in Kerkrade (Roda JC) must be so disappointed right now. BUT, don't give up. Next season; give it all like you did this season, and maybe it will happen then.
Also went to Groningen - Feyenoord many years ago. Groningen has really good hospitality. Very decent people behind the food and drink stands. Groningen stands out if it comes to good hospitality.
Next time look up de Forum . Its public building you can enter for free and you can go to the roof and have a great view of Groningen. Just a tip since you becoming a bit of a gronignen van so you will probably go there again.
One month later and Groningen has sold 16,000 season tickets. One other great thing about this promotion was the fact that the manager, after a bad start to the season (14th after 14 games), decided to get rid of some "rotten apples" and play young local lads. In this game six local players were in the starting lineup.
Roda fans invaded the pitch only to realize Groningen equalized against telstar meaning they were not promoted. And then the anouncer said telstar scored 2-1 against them meaning roda were up again. But then they found out that goal was never even scored. And yesterday before the game against groningen started they played we are the champions in the stadium were people were watching on screens😂
