several years ago a friend called me at work from a charity luncheon & said, “Guess who I’m sitting with?” “I give up, who?” “Kurtwood Smith!” “Red Forman Kurtwood Smith?” “Yeah! That’s him!” “Dude, you’re on crack.” “No, seriously! Here, I’ll put him on the phone” (phone handling noises…”Can you say hi to my friend?” “Sure, what’s his name?” “It’s Eric.” “…perfect”) “Hello?” “Eric, you dumbass…get back to work!” Like I was going to get any work done after that. Wotta guy.

I went to high school with one of the creators of the show Bonnie Turner. She was always funny in high school and in plays. Went to a taping of That 70’s Show in the third season to be one of the live studio members. Insanely cool experience that felt so surreal to be there in person. They shot every scene twice. Ashton’s entrance made everyone lose their minds. Kurtwood and Tommy Chong came up to the area we were sitting and talked with everyone many times. Tommy signed some Zig Zag papers. I still have the papers. They handed out autographed scripts to the audience members that laughed the most and best. I’ll never forget being there. Only show I ever went to see live like that. Kurtwood and Tommy will always remembered fondly. Good dudes.
