The Baroness knew she has lost at that very moment. This movie is the best of the best movie ever. Great story, great actor, great actress, great music, beautiful scenery.
Uh if you're a true fan and have watched this three thousand times like I have, you'll remember that he said he fell in love when she sat on a pine cone.
@@Shakespearelover1717 it is truly special almost magical. They changed the original folk dance for this scene, but however it came about, altered or not, the steps to this dance are so enchanting it warrants recognition and continuance. Plummer and Andrews delivery of it couldn’t be better. It makes you believe they were truly in love not just acting.
I heard Julie Andrews answer in an interview that this was her favorite scene in TSOM. She referred to the beautiful way in which it was backlit as part of the reason she loved it.
IIMB of Interest that in my class of moderately to highly impaired young adults there was a palpable love and positive reaction to TSOM. There is some healing deep goodness, call it ❤. I turn to it myself when in Lonely Goatherd mode.
@lucindamahaffey4556 Oh thats interesting. I heard he detested the film. He dubbed it the sound of mucus 😅 But I think with her, it was totally a different situation. He liked her alot ! I heard he had even hoped for romance
My grandparents have been married for 71yrs an been together for 73yrs. This is my 95yr old grandad's favourite film ever as it reminds him of the way they met. I love seeing the smile on my grandad's face everytime i put it on for him. I've NEVER seen a couple more in love than my grandparents in my 40yrs of life. I love listening to all their stories ❤ They'll never get old too me. I absolutely love how they support each other through thick an thin.
1 27 24 The most solidly romantic scene in the movie and one of the most of all movies I've seen. Caption says, 'moment they fell in love.' Nope. I think it's the moment they realize they are in love.❤
@@miraclehands9040 -I wasn’t interested in him personally, apparently luckily. He was just great actor Which Is all he had to be for hamlet and the sound of music. 🎶
I'm 68 yrs old, I've forgotten how many times I've watched this movie....and here I am with the smile, watching this clip for going on 15 times😂😂😂❤❤❤probably going to watch the whole movie tomorrow AGAIN😂
So was I! I was 10 yrs old too n loved it. My school took the class n I thanked the teacher afterwards. I could relate to the european mountains as i saw them the first time aged 6 though living in australia. Now, i am back at this moment at the mountains in europe n decided today i am going to retire here. After a lifetime, my dream is coming true. There is peace in the mountains, and as an extra twist... i am a nun too, but a solitary one. My love is Jesus who created all this beauty n gave us music, songs n birds... and mountains too.
@@dawnbecca I turned 8 in 1965 when this came out and saw it with my parents. Still the greatest movie I've ever seen, imo, and I've seen thousands and thousands over the years!! ♥️♥️♥️Christopher Plummer was one of my first major crushes along with Paul Newman, Omar Shariff, and many more! 😏
"I don't remember anymore..."
They were in love long before this, but very sexy dance with off the charts sexual tension and chemistry!! She said she loved him when she heard him first blow that silly whistle, and he said he loved her when she sat on the pinecone at dinner!! Greatest movie ever made, imo!!!
Really? This is not a “very sexy dance” nor “sexual tension.” 🙄 I guess you’ve never watched the music videos of today and actually know what “sexy dance” and “sexual tension” actually describe. 😐
Actually it was pretty romantic at the time and there was that tension building. Viewers saw it. He felt it and she felt it, too which is why she had to stop.
Unfortunately, Christopher Plummer has nothing but derogatory things to say about this movie and the other cast members, especially Julie Andrews. ...so no chemistry here ..he was drunk for much of the filming and just plain old acting.
Watching again from Nigeria, but cannot count how many times. Stsrted watching Sounds of Music with my kids who are now in their 30s, but I still cannot get bored. This is really immortal.
❤😂 This wasn't when they fell in love, this was when they both realized they were in love with each other. 😊 She fell in love with him after he blew the whistle when she'd met him for the first time, on the day she arrived and he fell in love with her after she sat on the pinecone the same night she arrived. Their love was everything! Love so pure.❤ Who else has lost count of how many times they've seen this movie?! 😂🖐🏻
y’all don’t realize that them saying that stuff was probably just playful and not serious. clearly she was rlly against him with the whistle and he thought she was annoying with the pinecone. it’s just a sweeter more detailed way to say “i loved you the moment i laid eyes on you”
I grew up on this movie. This movie was one of the few that helped keep me calm when I was sick as a child. When all else failed this movie or another of the safe movies or books or music would work when something was wrong.
Don't know if you. ever got outta there or not...but some of those that did are glad...but life is tough no matter where you go! You learn to trust yourself, become independent and not be so needy for positive reinforcement...cuz sometimes it's not there. I hope life "got gooder" for you! God bless
Una película para ver una y otra vez. El contexto completo es hermoso.!! La música, las canciones, los paisajes, los bailes y la trama de la época la hacen espectacular, jamás pasará de moda.
I watched this movie so many times at my grandmother's. I love it and not just because of nostalgia but it is a really good movie. The acting, the singing, the production, the story....all amazing
You know Julie stole him from her if we are being truthful. I don’t know why there are lots of movies tending taking someone else’s man. Why are people romanticising someone in a relationship falling inlove with someone else? It’s not OK. This movie did handle it well, the other lady was financially secure and stunning so would easily find someone else, so we feel less bad, but she is still heart broken. Your comment is really insensitive really. Why are women always pitted against other women
A small editing detail I feel like so many people overlook - That soft, airbrush-glow effect they used on Julie’s closeup when they paused dancing…. I always LOVED this frame of her!! The editors truly captured Julie’s beauty here and the innocent “lovestruck” emotion her character (Maria) was so frightened to feel. 😩❤🎶
I have absolutely no words. In awe of these two and floored to silence at this sublime masterpiece. I have stood on the grounds of the former Von Trapp house by the lake in Salzburg. The utter joy
To me, all scenes are my favorite. This classic movie has become a part of my life since i was a grader and so proud to have shared this with my daughter by buying a dvd of this in the 90s. Now, if we want some bonding time,we watch this😊. And my daughter is btw, 28 yo now, 2024 😊🎉❤
