When we bought the engine, we were told that it was rebuilt, but you never really know… so we’re gonna pull the valve covers off and the oil pan off to have a look at what’s inside. #badchad #engine #rebuiltengine
No offense to your engine builders Chad. But I don't think I would be removing Main and Rod caps outside in the open with dust blowing around. Not a very clean atmosphere.
I can’t understand why Jolene is not more in the videos, needless to say , she is far better to look at than the rusty heaps ! My vote is for more JOLENE!!! Add votes now !!
If you’re gonna go to that time with plasty gauge check every rod in main bearing engine had old freeze plugs in it and you need to pull the heads and look at the valves and check the seats
Hi to all . I always read the comments on your channel and I can't believe some of the stuff some of these people say. Ignore their crap and keep on keeping on. A forklift on your yard would'nt work to well. You'd get stuck a lot . Putting wheel's on that brake tho would be a good idea . Lov your channel and you guys !
good show , I really liked how guy just throws the peace of plastigage on the ground that he didn't know how to use , like its his own yard ,so much disrespect .Good job buddy !!
Chad should use that car hoist to lift his new break off the trailer. And maybe install casters under the the legs of the new break so it can be easily stored out of the way when not in use. 🫵🏻😎👍🏻
Chad's not a mechanic and that's ok. You don't have to be great at everything. I find it interesting that you have so many master mechanics watching a body man show. Would love to see you in more of your videos, though you do a great job on the camera.
Looks like you got a nice set of GT heads only they haven't been drilled out for the cross bolt pattern The Boss by the exhaust where the hump is is normally where they drill the hole for GT pattern😊
Motors looking good chad ive seen alot worse everything will work just needs to be cleaned and checked with micrometer to specs it wont be long now the beast will come alive !!!
Is it new camshaft . Has the cam been run in ,I would not take the chance that it has been broke in I would get it started on a stand as fast as you can so the break in lube is not washed of the cam ,and run it at cam break in speed for the amount of time needed. It would be a shame to wipe the cam out .make sure you use a lead replacement in the oil right of the hop É.
That’s called peace of mind. Never take third hand words when it comes to engines. Plasti-gauge is cheap. Been there done that. Cheaper to fix on a stand then it is in the engine bay
The motor is ok and if guy buying it primes the oil pump buy puting drill on pump shaft tell oil pressure and turn crank buy hand and replete many times and start
Problem with rebuilds is you don't know who was the mechanic that f'd this mess. Best to disassemble and reassemble, replace damaged pieces. Or fire it up , open it up and see if you can figure it out as it's loosing it's sit
I have ran 2 bolt maines with a blower and a trans break launching every other week end. Something this motor will never see. And I had no problems. @@user-er6wb9rf8u
That oil pan gasket didn't look very fresh. And a 352? That's ancient! All you have to do is smell the oil. An engine that has been run will have a definite odor. I don't know why these u-tubers insist on using an old worn out engine! Send it to a reputable machine shop get it rebuilt. All the work you put in that car and put a worn out engine and transmission in it. People always say they don't have time to do it but they always have time to do it over.!
Hard to watch these guys fumble around and drop the tools in the dirt and then use them after. Can’t see what the torque setting is. Doing this all outdoors in the dirt !!
I guess if nothing else , he can be used as a Gopher, like if you need a tool , you send the rookie , the Gopher! Hmmm 🤔 ya Gopher Chatterbox, sure fits him !!
@@user-er6wb9rf8u is this the blown engine he got from Nathan? Your right the car won't see 5 miles. The only one that has is Jolenes race car and hauler.
One thing I NEVER DO is chime I. On something I know nothing about, ‘ol chatterbox just rambles on about nothing! Somebody please tell ‘ol chatterbox the correct name is VALVE COVERS ! Not valve pans!!
Come on guys with such rude negative comments directed at Chad. Like all of us we have our own way and for some reason you’re watching even though you leave rude comments. Guess what like Liberace use to say he laughs all the way to the bank. I think Jolene actually had just returned from their bank in her awesome new Corvette.
Poor ‘ol Chatterbox is 100% out of his league with this type of mechanical work! Keep ‘ol RAG BAG away from the clean motor, as much grime as he carries on hisself that clean motor will be junk!!
their little plasti gauge attempt is comical...to get a proper reading all parts must be clean of oil....both bearings......plasti gauge is pointless on old junk motors...won't tell you the journals are egg shape ...plus using extensions on a torque wrench requires math to allow for them...4 guys working on one engine and not one has a clue
@bugeyev8 My thoughts exactly. You must be new here? Most guys stop trying to help when they figure out what they are working with. Very entertaining, yes comical. Always an A+ effort by Chad
WHY WAS MY LAST COMMENT DELETED .I was just describing the proper way to use plastigage .what's the point of you asking for comments when you turn around and delete them
