as an indonesian this vid gives me chills, not just indonesia has opportunity to bring gold home but the 2 best 73 from indonesia. doesnt matter who will go to paris we believe that we will secure 73 gold this time, Insyaallah
I don't understand the rules in the qualifications of weightlifting for Paris 2024. Why there's only 1 ticket available? And the two athletes who compete for that ticket are both Indonesian.

Jadi ada surat protes dari salah satu negara (kita semua tau negara apa, saya tidak perlu sebutkan hehe) ke IOC karena cabor ini di Olympic terlalu didominasi oleh Tiongkok. Nah IOC akhirnya mengeluarkan peraturan kualifikasi bahwa setiap negara hanya boleh mengirimkan satu wakil saja di tiap nomor dan maksimal 3 wakil ditiap gendernya (pria/wanita).
As an Indonesian, it pains me to see Rahmat miss out on an Olympic spot given that he is literally the best in the world and was probably going to win gold. However, I'm so proud of Rizki and he absolutely deserves this, I believe he can also win gold for Indonesia, congrats for both edit:siapa disini abis Rizki menang?
@@sekar9901Ini peraturan baru di Paris 2024? Setiap negara hanya boleh kirim satu wakil di satu nomor? Agak aneh, kalau misalkan satu regu/satu orang di setiap cabor baru setuju. Negara adidaya kaya Prancis, USA, Russia, China pasti punya atlet terbaik di setiap nomor cabor.
Hubris for Rahmat. Jubilation for Rizki. What a battle, what an event. This was the Olympics. Seeing Rizki breakdown was wholesome. After the injuries he had to battle to make his way back to the top against all odds, the human will can offer us some magical athletic feats.
As moving as these stories are, we can all agree how dumb the olympic rules are. literally the #2 in the world not qualifying is the dumbest thing I've heard.
Just watched his performance in Paris 2024. Tough situation for his fellow (Rahmat Erwin Abdullah), but it really paid off how Rizki battled with his post-operation trauma, qualified while setting a world record, and ultimately won the gold medal while setting an olympic record. What a mentality! Current king of C+J in his class

Shi's still hoping that neither Li nor Tian can beat Karlos and he can convince the Chinese committee to send him. He's still recovering, clawed back 16kg since the last comp, 9kg off from Rizki right now. Claims to only be 60-70% recovered so he's got an argument that he's still got a chance to be triple Olympic champ in Paris and he's hoping that Karlos will help him make his argument on Saturday. But for the Chinese, who have too many lifters qualify across too many categories, it's still not decided after this comp. Even if Tian or Li manage to beat Karlos, if they get injured or fall apart in training and Shi shows remarkable recovery, he could still end up being selected to go. It depends on how everyone's training goes in the next few months.

This competition has been probably the best I've seen so far. But I went through so many emotions watching this earlier. Rahmat made a valiant effort in his attempt to make it to the Olympics in Paris.
Shi Zhiyong has always been a great sportsman. When his CJ was broken the first time by Rahmat, he said records are meant to be broken and he welcomed the challenge.
Both countrymen, Rizki and Rahmat are world class! Is a shame both cannot be at the Olympics.. Huge congratulations to Rizki for bringing home Gold in Weigh-lifting..
As an Indo i had mixed feeling about this. I was so happy with Rizky but on the hand i felt so sorry to Rahmat, mustve been painful for him. Thank god Rizky didnt waste his chance at the Olympic and he won us the gold medal.
Really? No Rahmat on olympics??? Cant Believe it man, the best for Rizki but, need Rahmat there too, nono hermano.. This is hard to believe. A lot of feelings there.
Can someone explain what happened here? Why did Rahmat not qualify for Olymic? Is this some internal decision with Indonesia or did Rahmat have less points and actually failed qualify? I mean Rahmat have done so well last 2 years?
@@cbn1362 The rule to qualify says that only 1 from each country can qualify, so Rahmat was 2nd best overall but also 2nd best in his country so only the nr1 from his country can go unfortunately.
They should evaluate the rule and try to look up badminton's rule regarding countrys representation in the olympic. In badminton if one country has more than one athlete in top eight world rank, in the same number, that country is allowed to send the best two world rank to the olympic. They should evaluate this rule. It's just not fair for rahmat. Imagine being one of the top 3 and not being able to compete in the olympic.

The fact is that he's literally not long ago being recovered from his surgeon and being absence from the stage for a quite long time heck he's not even in our national team at Asian games last year when Rahmat won the gold (the last time i see him before the surgery is at the Sea games Cambodia) and hell no one expect this will happen he can upset anyone including Rahmat itself by clinching both Snatch and CnJ then breaking the world record for taking the last ticket for Indonesian men's lifter to Olympic
Shi Zhiyong seems like such a pure athlete that genuinely enjoys competition and just wants to see big weight go up. Really hope we see him again at Paris

Robin the IOC is the international Olympic committee. It seems to be run by a bunch of old fuddy duddies who have archaic rules that don’t make sense to anyone but themselves.
Happy for him but im really gutted Rahmat wont be at the olympics. Hes my favourite weightlifter in the whole sport. Rizki better learn that double bicep pose. I've been waiting years to see it at the olympics! 😂

Why on earth did Rahmat go for the third attempt without taking the full 2 minute rest? What was his father thinking? He controls everything for him and doesn't stop him when he's about to make a big mistake. And very happy to see the great Shi on the podium once more. With all his injuries it's likely we'll never see him competing again.
It must have been for some superstitious/religious reason because that made absolutely zero fucking sense. It's basically saying "my faith is stronger than biology and nothing can stop me".
It's a better sweet feeling watching this video. On one hand I'm happy to see him succeed, but on the other hand sad to see him succeed because his fellow country man fail. But that is the essence of competition.
It's not a competition that if the rules are not fair, how can the 2 best athletes not be able to participate in the Olympics together just because of 1 country of origin??? LOL IOC

I'm conflicted, even though it made this World Cup extremely high level, I still think the Olympic qualification system is dumb. I wanna see the best athletes there. Who cares what country they are from? Happy for Rizki though.

after saw him get a gold medal, it kinda makes me frustrated because IOC remove men's 81 kg class, if they didn't remove that class, Rahmat and Rizki would be bring back 2 golds, such a big achievement, yeah because of IOC remove 81 kg, Rahmat need to play against Rizki to get the spots for the Olympics, Joy and Agony for both Indonesian monsters
I'm gutted for the strategy Rahmat ended up with, having to really claw for kg's after losing out of the snatch :( I would have much preferred Rahmat in the Olympics over Rizki, however congrats to Rizki for winning it fair and square
Most incredible session I've ever seem, absurd levels of drama. Rizki jumping NINE kilos on both lifts and smashing them was lunacy. Feel terrible for Rahmat. Gained a lot of respect for Shi, first seeing him absolutely go for broke on every lift despite clearly being in pain and declined from his physical best, insane grit, and then seeing him be a class act here (and, he's the closest thing we have left to a true chaos agent now that Tao has retired).
Sesuai peraturan, setiap negara cuma bisa mengirimkan 1 wakilnya di tiap2 nomor. Kebetulan di kelas 73kg ini, Indonesia punya 2 lifter terbaik di dunia yaitu Rahmat & Rizki, yang secara sportif ditentukan lewat angkatan finalnya.
Dan akhirnya ...dibuktikan oleh rizki juliyansah dengan meraih mendali emas olimpiade paris 2024....dan memang dia layak untuk lolos olimpiade paris 2024. SELAMAT UNTUK RIZKI ATAS RAIHAN MENDALI EMAS ....
