Do more videos like this. Even though I've known this info prior to watching this video, it is presented in a neat way.....one in which I would most definitely find interesting again if it was the same approach used for the next video pertaining to kaiju eiga.

I saw this at the theater in 1963 when I was 9 years old. Yes, it is goofy and cheesy, but it is still my favorite Godzilla flick. The reason he was encased in an iceberg and people knew who he was, is because he was buried in ice at the end of the second Godzilla movie, Godzilla Raids Again. I also happened to see that at the theater in 1959 when I was 5. Jeez, I'm old.

Truly this is one of the films of all time.

Okay, now that you're done describing the American version of King Kong vs Godzilla, go watch the original Japanese version. In that version, there's no newscaster, and no paleontologist. The plot revolves not around "big pharma," but bad ratings at a failing Japanese TV network.

Ignoring all the behind the scenes facts as wheel as applying today’s standards to old movie. Toho was not allowed to make kong resemble the rko Kong. Seeing this to be logistically impossible. They used the Japanese macaque. Because any likeness of a gorilla would raise kong alarm bells
