Now many Palestinians die without guilt or even their only sin is that they defend their land from the Israeli occupation that robbed it and still wants to control the rest of it. Palestine was not our cause as Palestinians alone, but it is the issue of every human being who has a living conscience and claims humanity and every Muslim and every Arab, now many children, women, men and the elderly even with special needs in Palestine, especially Gaza, are promoting martyrs in order to defend the homeland, what sin did they kill!? Many young men in Jerusalem and the occupied territories in 1948 were arrested regardless of gender and age, and women and children were also arrested without charge. #Save Sheikh Jarrah's neighborhood. #save gaza

I worked in food and beverage with the Marriotts. They initially told us to make budgets plans and work out ideas for innovative sales strategies. The useless video calls made no sense because who knew what the future would hold. They started with the management on salary cuts of 50 -30-20 depending on their level. They put forward the idea of sabitcals and anyone who voted for it was asked to leave. They promised rehire as soon as it would pick up and to my shock the management hired a completely new staff at lower salaries. Funny enough our entire HR team was promoted 2 levels each. BTW the first Marriott's property to open post lockdowns were all in China. Meaning the chinese team knew exactly what was happening and even though marriott was an American based company they did not indicate the severity of the situation to anyone or our management just made us work like dogs and didnt help us prepare for the worst possible outcome.

@@dnmurphy48 They actually don’t really pay our wages. A lot of these companies pay poverty level income, and then they tell us employees to go get in the Social Security, food stamps, Medicaid line, which they don’t pay into because American taxes are most heavily paid by the lower middle class, while our major corporations that hoard billions in profit get off Scott free with barely a penny paid anywhere along the way. They literally literally literally profit billions of dollars off the fact that they don’t have to pay their employees appropriate wages for us to earn them all that free money. If they used a tiny bit of that profit to actually pay their employees properly, our country would have a much much smaller need for all the social services that we rely on and yet disdain at the same time. The government doing their jobs half-assed and like toddlers want a pat on the back. I worked every business day plus overtime the whole pandemic, the company didn't "provide me with business". I provided the company processed, finished product that could be sold for revenue. It's just that I require compensation if I'm spending my time producing. When they reach their villages, each person had to made a hut or hammocks on trees since multiple people live in a household, they had to quarantine on trees near their home so that they won't bring COVID to their family :(

Also, if trump is so keen on giving the American public $2000 he could've done so a LONG time ago but chose to speak up ONLY AFTER the dems n Republicans FINALLY came to an agreement in stimulus package (AFTER MONTHS) and also just DAYS before the government is set to shut down. Congratulations to the team who brought this together and free 😊 My only complaint is no emphasis on how we build an economy which becomes more and more localised and resilient. Citizens who are more capable than becoming mere consumers. That is the true lesson we ought to learn from this. Not bragging, but India is the only country that has spoken about ‘Atmanirbhar’ or self sufficiency after the pandemic. At least on paper India spoke it aptly! Happy for that.

Very informative to hear from a segment that is generally inaccessible is refreshing. Our generation, certainly my generation (Canada) have not incurred suffering in the last 50 years of this magnitude. It continues to challenge many people and companies, some will thrive, some will fail. Most noteworthy, to me, is which ones will learn and prepare accordingly? Which companies will develop continuity plans for the next event? Which ones will simply pay lip service and hope for the old times? Ten years ago, I designed my provinces largest police pandemic exercise on a military base involving hundreds of police and actors from across the province. I studied the lesson's learned from the 1918 pandemic and attempted to include them in the exercise. I learned something very quickly, NOT MUCH HAS CHANGED.

What made me angry was the CDC telling people that masks wouldn’t help…instead of telling people not to buy N95 masks or other PPE that essential (especially healthcare) workers needed. There were other options but they didn’t say anything until April/May. Luckily, I had good reusable masks (I have Lyme so I catch everything) that my family and I wore starting the first week of March. We knew better…this wasn’t just passed by touch but that’s what they told us at the beginning. A lot of people died because of this.

It really goes to show you how safe we think we are, though it's far from true. I mean the day before my province Ontario, shut down on Mar 9th, I was at a Comic Con. In fact, I had been to 3 shows in that eight day period and as much as I think now, "Wow that was super stupid of me," but truly the concern wasn't there because everyone was led to believe it was just another flu variant and the only thing that changed that was Italy, Spain and Iran. Once they hit capacity and doctors literally had to choose who lived and got respirators and who died, then it struck home.
