Such a wonderful melody. Jimmy Webb is such a talented song writer. Pat's version takes it to new places. This song makes me happy and sometimes sad. Real music does that.

Jimmy Webb had a truly magical quality in many of his compositions.. He created musical platforms in which so many artists, from a diversity of musical genres, could express their talents in such unique ways.. Pat Metheny, Glen Campbell, Linda Rondstadt, Judy Collins, Joe Cocker, Joan Baez, Jarle Bernhoft, so many more, and even Jimmy Webb himself.. brought life to the song, each in their own unique and special way.. such a wonderful thing...

Thank you for this wonderful transcription! I did the first part myself by ear and when I later got your PDF I was surprised that I was rather close... I only would suggest that you’d introduce double barlines and perhaps letters at the transition from one part to the next, to make it easier to read. BTW Pat Metheny deviates quite a bit from Jimmy Webb’s harmonization on "10 easy pieces". The key of D is better for guitar than the original G. It’s a pity that he did not play Webb’s nice introduction... it’s not that difficult to imitate on guitar.

Love this one! Do your patreons get to proofread your transcriptions? I always feel there's a note missing or wrong on most transcriptions, I'd love to help.

Yes I sometimes I get correction(s) from 'Patreon'. I'm adding every corrections to my transcriptions but you can't see them on my RU-vid videos since I can't re-post them every time. I'd be happy to hear what you've found but keep in mind that my transcriptions have been through multiple corrections and editions since their original release on RU-vid so my RU-vid videos may not be the best reference. Between you and me.... (and RU-vid..), for this one I have take some liberty, especially with the lower notes. Pat's thumb was a bit more active in the solo but some notes was just inaudible on every monitors I tried so I decided to just write the notes that can be heard to avoid confusion. There are also some bass notes that Pat do not necessarily play (they are played by Charlie Hayden) in the second theme and the outro but it make the transcription way more intelligible written that way. So... it can happen sometime that missing notes or extra notes are decisions I took voluntarily to make the transcription clearer and easier to learn/read although most of the time it is not intended. If you find 'wrong' notes these are definitely mistakes from mine. Anyway... I'm always happy to get help so let me know if you find corrections I could add to my transcriptions. Thanks in advance!
