Ukrainian grannies (babushkas) tend to be awesome, from what I've seen. They are some feisty gals. :-) I'm thinking of the one I saw give weapons and another a couple of ammo belts to liberating Ukrainian forces, that they TOOK from the Russians! OMG. I also saw one who had literally lost everything she owned, except one thing, the Ukrainian flag that she boxed and buried, and was holding up when the liberators passed. They also hand out lots of cookies and love, but that's kind of similar to grandmas the world over. :-)

In the old South African army (1970's -1980's) we also had an old lady that would drive around at night bringing soldiers food. She also lost her son. We loved her dearly...

The Ukrainian Courage on display in this woman having giving her Son and All for Freedom and Democracy....... while some Countries cower at the UN in their self Interest towards Russia in the coming vote on Ukraine's Right to Soveignty, and their border's Intergrity .... and their Right to defend it under the Charter of the UN, which these Cowering Countries have signed up to that UN Charter!!!
