The sand on Lossiemouth East beach firms up quickly after the bridge and there is a rideable trail after 2km anyway. The section from cragganmore to cromdale should never be attempted on a bike. It is v gate hell as you found out. Best way is to lift bike over but doing that 50 odd times is exhausting if it's loaded up. Bikes should go cragganmore to grantown on back road. I round this out the hard way 😂
Hi Gregor, yeah I think I can download gpx file. I'll have a look. I left Dalwhinnie on Sat morning at 10, cycling to the official start - Grantown on Spey - is easy, mostly flat and slightly downhill too. The first day I finished around 11pm, but only because I was attempting the beach walk from Lossiemouth, plus filming along the way. The next day I left after 4am. Got back to Dalwhinnie around 7pm i think. Long day, but it goes slightly uphill and faced strong headwind. And if I knew what the route was like near Grantown, i would do these 10k on the road instead the slow going walking path. Hope this helps, and I see if I can get the gpx file for you.
