Money has not been the problem of the military. Defence currently has the highest budget. The real problems are: 1). Lack of the political will to fight terrorism. Why should our soldiers and police officers complain that they were instructed not to attack some terrorists? Why are we hearing about inflated number of terrorists that have surrendered while terrorism increases? 2). Who accounts for the (mis)appropriation of the defence budget? 3). Why are monthly security votes to states not being accounted for?
I don’t think these guys know how much current funds are mismanaged. Giving them more money without looking into how current funds are spent isn’t smart.
Nduka obaigbena did not talk about accountability. Not only giving security 25% of our budget, what about accounting for the ones already given . The military hierarchy has always embezzlled security fund to the detriment of Security in Nigeria.
The decision or perhaps agitation to allocate 25% to Military or Education shouldn't come first but thorough accountability of allocation and reporting structures of any fund going to each department and agency. Up till now, National Assembly still investigating how Education Trust Fund, being mandatory Tax on companies, is being utilized. Military men in the forefront of battle in the Northern Nigeria are complaining of malnutrition and underpayment while the big ogas are 'nack**g ' and busy chasing the beautiful Military women.
Please he said nothing because he is the owners of the station, the problem of Nigeria fighting terrorism and bandits difficulty is because leaders and the people and some security agencies are complicit against the fight, by the grace of God everyone and everybody will soon be consumed.
