@SarahNGeti Those that justify or defend or support him are as evil as he. That is the truth of the matter. Worst of all, his lawyer Jodie! She is terrifyingly EVIL, beyond Redemption, and with the kind of vengeance seldom matched.
The last time the granddaughters saw her was in 1994, she was killed in 1996, they didn’t check on her until 1997… that doesn’t sound like a loving caring family to me.
I'm half way through the episode and I get the feeling her "loving family" cares more about the fact they're left out of the inheritance than anything else.
Yes...she asked who they were when they came by to check on her. Not what I would call a "close" relationship. They ALL wanted her MONEY...Bernie and everybody else.
How long does this "disassociative experience" last? He supposedly had one while he shot her. Was he having one when he stuffed her in the freezer? Was he having one while he cleaned the crime scene? Was he having one while he forged her signature on bank withdrawals?
Meanwhile singing hymns and acting all lovable. Was he dissociating then too? Or does he get to turn it on and off. But on the other hand, stuffing her body in the freezer could not be the solution of a clear mind.
So what if she was an old evil or not so nice. He shot her and killed her. He had no right to do so. It’s absolutely disgusting that people are justifying his killing of Marjory.
I mean, he shot her, stuffed her in a freezer and continued to spend her money. Sounds like the jury got it right here. The people who can't see that are just delusional.
So true I’m so disgusted with this and him trying to play the victim!! Grandma is dead with 4 bullets in her back and stuffed in the freezer ! My common sense is triggered!!!
Sounds like she was a mean, gready, anti-social person while he was this nice, social guy, sharing his money with all the villagers, paying off their debts and handing out scholarships. It makes sense that they don't care she's dead and they want him to continue share her money with them. He's kind of like a Robin Hood to them.
He swindled his way into a lonely old lady's life, stole from her, catfished himself into her will, waited daily for her to die but she just kept living till he couldn't wait any longer. He deserves life behind bars
@@Loudes012 he traveled the world for free. That is your evidence that he really cared for her. One day maybe she finds out and he reacts out of fear of getting caught, or maybe she was abusive to those who weren't family and that made him snap one day. Either way she is clearly the victim. He was not trapped enough to justify what he did, if it was really so bad he could request a police escort to peacefully leave the property. @@matthewfaulk Exactly. And had he really cared for her (and not just cared for her money), he could have helped hire someone to come in help her since "it was such a strain on him" and she had given him a lot of authority he didn't have to do it all himself. He did that so he could isolate her & no one else knew what was happening but him. Then he took over her bank account & stole the money. Then he killed her in cold blood. Most sociopaths are charming (and liars) and he conned so many people into believing him, including the filmmaker smh. Did he tell them why he was stealing her money? I think he made her so dependent on him that when the relationship went sour, she threatened to remove him from her will and he was afraid she would find out about the money he was pocketing. i was going to say the same thing but didn't know how to type it out where the letters get smaller and smaller and go up higher and higher. you captured it well!
No matter what, this guy killed an elderly woman in cold blood and should not be held up as some kind of celebrity. Maybe her grandchildren are uncaring or greedy for their grandmother's money. However, they are her surviving family and should be heir to her assets. This case was a complete circus and I would be angry if that was my grandmother that got killed.
The usual it happens in family's instead of mourning ther supposed ❤ one there fighting over 💰 makes me sick money means nothing a loved one does shame on them all
I don 't believe that any one is entitled to be heirs of someone's assets -- whether they were sons, daughters, grandchildren. - If the woman wanted to leave all her money to a charity - for animals or anything for that matter -- her money, her decision.

Just started watching this video, but it appears that people hated/or at least disliked the woman. Plus it was a woman. If he had killed a man Texans would be more empathetic and thrown him in prison for a long time!
Her family should’ve been there for her! I used to work as a home health aide and I loved my clients just like they were my grandma or grandpa. I had one 98 year old client that lived alone, and she had dementia and couldn’t even make herself meals. Plus she was a fall risk! My job was to go there around breakfast time and make her breakfast and take her dog out and clean up her apartment. Right before I’d have to leave, I’d make her lunch and dinner and stick it in the fridge so she’d have meals for the evening. I told my boss numerous times that I was worried about her being there alone when us aides weren’t there because she was getting worse and worse and my boss told me it was all up to the daughter that barely ever saw her. 😣 Eventually, she ended up falling one night and wasn’t found until the next morning when my coworker went over there to make her breakfast. She ended up dying shortly after that while in the hospital. Always find time to check on your elderly relatives! They matter and they really need the company and the care in their life.
My wife runs an in-home care agency, and it has really opened my eyes to what awful people the families of the dying are. We had a client a few years back who fell in the floor at around 2am trying to get to the bathroom. His son and daughter in law were his caretakers, so he called them to come help him when he fell. They waited until 6am to call us to make sure they’d get paid before they went over and helped him up. My wife told them to just stay home and we would go help him up. The man had been on the floor for 4 1/2 hours, lying in his own waste while they knew the entire time that would be the case. When he passed, they tried to change his will and have my wife notarize it. She refused, of course. Mind you, this guy had very, very little, but they were rubbing their hands together and waiting for him to pass to get it. I can’t imagine what the wealthy go through with their families.
EXACTLY! There are a ton of old people who need someone to look after them but who happen to have no money. How come he didn't help old people without money?
Considering his popularity and fan club, it seems he a very nice person. But the money obviously made it easier to be there full time and do all sorts of fun things, which she enjoyed a lot. It would be a lot harder if the person was poor. I dont think it started for him bc of that money. Rich people can use their money to 'buy' people. So that initiative was hers.
I don't think he should be out of jail, do think he lied, covered up, etc. However, I do think that it is possible to have a relationship like that without money. My Gma & I got along good like the pictures and footage show of the two of them and neither of us had a dime. We played cards, went to the grocery store, and just sat around visiting. I think we would have just had even more fun if one of us would have had a lot of money. We, also, got mad at each other sometimes.
I think Bernie is a typical pathological liar and cold killer. He used her, spent her money, forged checks and balances, then when she found out and got tired of her he cold hearted killed her. Put her ina freezer tells a lot. What I was shocked was that the director and actor were fooled by this serial liar/murderer like all other cult members. this is the good example of why the cult prisoners fans exist.

She must have had dementia for when they stopped by & she said "who are you". I was watching the murderers face while he was being interviewed, many times and he went from crying to a straight face back & forth just like a professional actor during all his interviews. 🙄
"Bernie" is a fantastic movie! One of my favorites! He's doing the time and while I am not minimizing his actions, if you watch the movie, you can understand how he might have snapped given her constant belittling and controlling personality. Excellent and funny portrayals by Jack Black & Shirley MacLaine! Well worth the watch if you can "disassociate" from your outrage.
Agree. That response that someone snapped is rare & is documented. When it's self defense usually, or under some circumstance that could give you temporary insanity. Like someone just killed someone & you killed them in a temporary rage. But this guy calmly put her in the freezer and left her almost a year while he forged checks because everyone trusts him. Hes a smooth talker, was he insane then too?
Having sympathy for this man is crazy... the way he cries for 'the difficult time' during which he'd hidden her body in a freezer and was then LYING to the entire town about her whereabouts. WTF
The assassination of this poor women character, it doesn't matter what this woman did she was murdered . And that man put her in a freezer then kept stealing her money . What a piece of work he needs to be in jail for the rest of his life .
Uh, no. If anything, they went easy on her. She was estranged for many years from her only child, and treated everyone in her life horribly. Despised by everyone she knew.
How sickening that a man who shot an old lady 4 times in the back is now celebrated. He cries because he was abused as a kid and then found her abusive? BS. My name is Jennifer Wallick. I was abused when I was 6 by a man who worked for my dad. I was then raped by a mentally man. Finally, I was sexually assaulted for a year by my boss who was the the Associate Provost of Lehman College in NYC. I sued him and the college and was in the same court house as E Jean Carroll. Did I ever do anything violent to anyone? NO! This Bernie becoming a celebrity is a punch in the gut for her family. Shameful. Just shameful.
He tried. She licked the gate. Do you think she wouldn't have made his life miserable if he left? She owned him. What he did was wrong, but he didn't plan it.

The fact that the pictures of this man, who claimed he was only there to help the old lady, were everywhere in the home but those of the woman's husband and possibly family were not shows just what Bernie's plans were. My mom knew her, she was a hairdresser and went to beauty school with the guy that did Mrs. Nugent's hair, they then worked at the same salon for a time when he was doing Mrs Nugent's hair (she drove from Carthage to Longview to get her hair done, because the words I heard come out of her mouth was "those women in Carthage are hicks and don't know how to properly style hair), then later my friend (who did my hair) worked with Mrs Nugent's hairdresser, I personally saw how she treated people and she was not a kind person. She treated Bernie horrible in public, she spoke down to those around her. But that did not mean she deserved to be killed.

He hid her murdered remains in a freezer and lied repeatedly to her family. All while spending her money. Guilty.
He's a murderer. He killed a woman by shooting her in the back. 4 times. How anyone can see this as anything but shooting an elderly woman until she was dead to steal her money is beyond me. Im glad the judge could see through the lies
Bernie obviously did it, but those grand daughters give me bad vibes. You were so close it took 9 months to notice she was missing? C’mon now. They seem like they’re embellishing a lot of their memories and wanted money 🤷🏼♀️
It's obvious they weren't close and she wasn't a kind loving lady. That doesn't mean though that Bernie taking advantage of her can't be true at the same time. It's just weird how the granddaughters are trying to paint their relationship as very close, as if it was a prerequisite for not wanting sy to take advantage of their grandma. I need to keep my distance from most of my family for my own well-being but I still wouldn't stand for sy shooting any of them in the back 4 times after using and abusing their money for months or years.
Also she traveled frequently and far away… and they were young and in college. Even if they weren’t super close bc she was tempestuous doesn’t mean they didn’t love her or not want her to be used and murdered!!!
Nine months and no welfare check is kinda wild. Let’s be real. If grandma and you were THAT close and she was THAT lovely, idc how busy college student you were. Why wasn’t dad checking on his mother?
I also noticed that. If Marjorie was truly as kind as her grandchildren described her, then why didn't any of her neighbors check on her? Of course, this doesn't excuse what happened to her, and I do not condone his actions either. I'm just curious as to why none of her family or friends went to look for her when she hadn't been heard from in the first few weeks.
The granddaughters visited in 93, then again in 94. How much more could they do? "Hi grandma, just checking to see if you're about to die. See you in 95"

How in the world has this man managed to pull the wool over Jack Black and Richard Linklater?? How are they not seeing what is so plainly obvious, that this man is nutts!
How does someone take care of your grandma for a period of time, an employee and beloved friend, and every person in a 6k town knows this…but her loving family doesn’t?
Because they were only interested in her money. Why didn’t they ever just call her to see how she was doing or take an unexpected trip down to see her. They were too busy to include her in their lives, but they were sure ticked off when they found out they weren’t gonna get any of her money. 😂😂
The granddaughters obviously didn’t really care about their grandmother but that does not excuse the fact that he stole money and murdered the woman in cold blood. He is where he belongs. We as a society have got to stop making excuses for murderers.

He robbed that old lady and continued to rob her after he shot her at point blank range and put her in the freezer. What is wrong with you? You are obviously easily conned.
Simply not true. All humans want companionship, a partner; no matter the age. My grandmother started seeing a man a few years after grandpa died. She was 70. They even married. Grandkids do not equal the love of a partner
I hate to hear the granddaughters portraying the perfect grandma when they didn’t even see her often. Ears went by and they never visited her. They didn’t even know she had had a friend leaving with her for nine years. And they saw her one last time two years before she died. They have no shame
Exactly. Bernie is a murderer, of course. But let's be real: Those granddaughters didn't give a damn about that lady; those tears are for the 3.8 million they feel they were 'cheated' from...but they weren't there clipping her toenails in her final years, were they? It is the first time I hear about this case so I’m watching it unbiased. After hearing the granddaughters and seeing him I believe the granddaughters. It is understandable they didn’t approach her until Christmas which is a family festivity, she traveled a lot, last time they visit they saw how he had isolated her from her family. He was after her money, once he was in her will that was it for Nanny. It wasn’t even self defense, he was big, she was small and old and he had to shoot her in the back and in the neck? That movie was so biased that the director didn’t want to know about the victim, just the poor good man that had been abused by an old witch that made him rich. I’m so glad he is behind bars and I hope he stays there.
I'm surprised that no one around the old lady recognized a lot of her behavior could be signs of dementia?? Instead she's labeled as cruel. Not even her granddaughters notice. Feels like so many failed this older lady. Bernie is no better. Whatever she triggered in him still gives no right to take her life.

I remember when my uncle used to play this song on his stereo when I was a kid (I was born in 1973 and I’m 51 years old now) but now I love it even more now!!
Disappointed in Jack Black and the people who made a movie about this killer/con man. Everything was right there in front of them and they chose to make a fantasy movie. Instead of telling the black and white of it, they chose to show people how sweet he was. He's a cold blooded killer. He deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life. And I think he should be forgotten about. He doesn't deserve any more press. Condolences to this woman's family. I can't imagine finding my Grandmother frozen in her own freezer. I hope they stripped his bank accounts and gave back what was left of her money and possessions to her family.
I had some sympathy for the guy until the DA started outlining the way he manipulated her financial statements. That's a pretty strong motive. Also, that lady's family wasn't much of a family...NINE months before they called the police? That's telling about her change in her will and perhaps her real personality. That said, no matter how nice Bernie might be, he still murdered someone and covered it up.
Doesn't matter what she said or did, she was an elderly lady. If she was so bad, leave her alone to fend for herself. 🙄🙄🙄 He's obviously bigger and stronger. But of course, no self control and he wants the money. 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
IMO, if Marjorie would have died some other way, would her grandchildren still complain about Bernie? They didnt spend much time with her, yet expected inheritances.....greedy people dont trust anyone.
@@thomasgentry6201 my thoughts as well.... Cause if they were checking on her (if they were there for her) while she was still alive then maybe she didn't have to rely on her killer. And they keep on saying he stole her money.... Dang! He stole her life and that's what's more concerning!
@@soulglory6696 but their words when interviewed.... That their granny is a good person.... So are they lying? Or did I get it wrong? Did they say she's mean and they can't stand her?
Jack Black saying a murderer who shot down an old woman going back to prison is discouraging isn't my perspective. I find it very encouraging. Go justice!
@@RoseDreamful she couldn’t reach her grandmother so she visited the house. Once she realized it had been vacant for some time, she started looking around. What’s so hard to understand about that?
WoW Tiede a classic textbook narcissist and his flying monkeys Black, Linklater and his lady lawyer. He conned a whole town after shooting an old lady in the back, 4xs, stuffed her in a freezer and was still stealing her money. His defense, I'm being misunderstood. 🙄
The people who think this guy is a victim are seriously gullible, I'd say worse but RU-vid will delete it, even though the words I'd use are in the dictionary. He's a con artist, plain and simple.
If the granddaughters were that concerned for their grandmother, why walk away? Why not persist and continue with regular contact? And not being in contact with her they surely wouldn’t have known what kind of relationship they had. All they had to go on was their own personal account of their relationship with her when they were children.
Even if he did “snap” and he was abused, he shouldn’t be free to roam. A person who snaps and kills somebody is an unpredictable dangerous person regardless of how he looks on the outside. That woman was surrounded by terrible people.
