This video was so much fun. You always brighten my day and crack me up with all your jokes. I hope you reached your 50k goal on Sunday, but don't be too upset if you don't. I crashed and burned at around 37k+ myself. Now I'm hitting reset today or tomorrow and starting over again. It happens. Though for you, I'm betting you get to 50k! If so, I'd love to see a revision vlog series down the line. I don't think you've ever shared your actual revision process (at least current one) so that would be really fun to watch. Thanks, Kat!
Wow, I've been listening to you like crazy about 7years ago. I was full into blogs and reading like crazy. I stopped everything very suddenly. The amount of book I had to read to publish enough content and follow challenges. I was just fed up. And until that day it is still hard for me to sit and read a book. I barely read 1 a year. One month ago i started writing lessons. Still struggle also to sit and write. In my classes, we've talked about nanowrimo. And you came to my mind as i used to follow you. I am very happy for you that you still enjoy your passion :) you look very excited about your story and accomplishement. Don't give up ! ^^
When you said "Aries, no!"..."Aries, YES!" I really felt that lol XP IDK this might be a hot take of the worst kind, but I'm of the opinion that you can find a way to structure any story in any type of structure. It's something that I'd like to study/practice/figure out more, especially with non-Western story formats, so go you on reformatting and stuff!! Love hugs and good vibes and all that jazz!
Kat.... I want to recommend Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint. It's a korean webnovel with a webtoon adaptation that is translated into english.. I knew you'd love Haikyuu... but this one will trump Carry On imo. BET
I support the plot beat reorganization. Sometimes vibes are the only justification you need. Love that your hyperfixation is your book. Great thing to hyperfixate on. A+
Dear whoever is reading this , you’ll probably never hear from me again cause I’m 1 of the 7 billion on this earth . But I’m so proud of you And I wish u the best for the rest of your life and I hope all your dreams come true, your perfect and I love u 🖤😞
Appreciated the zodiac segment. My husband is an Aquarius and you totally nailed it. Also, I relate to unhealthy obsessing. It's the only reason my book got done lol. Grats on hitting your goals! Can't wait for you to publish this! Always love your videos!
the comment about aquarius people. i dated a guy whose bio on twitter was literally "frustrating expectations" is there ANYTHING more aquarius than that.
I've never thought about looking into my characters' zodiac signs (with the exception of the story that was literally about zodiac signs), but now I kinda really love the idea.
Hey Kat! Had a name change (was Jaret), and I'm HYPED that you posted this. I love that for as long as you've been doing this, you're still making these writing vlogs. Always inspires me to want to write. Edit: the Aquarius attack. I felt that.
I feel you on the hyperfixation thing! I bounce between fixating on video games, to drawing, to writing, and back again, it's my Holy Trinity! I feel like it's unhealthy, but then I got a really good story (only I can read, because I don't publish them, partly because they're unfinished :U), nice piece of art, and a 100% game. It's the curse of a creator! I'm stretching on the game bit, as I'm not creating anything, it's more of my cool down, to not burn out, but I fixate on it, all the same, and that may not be a good thing! XD I love that you're still passionate about this book, it's a good sign, keep up the good work!
I totally understand your reluctance to become what you describe as, "a mortifying ordeal of being known." However, I've watched many of your videos as a fellow aspiring writer. A little late in life granted but I'm getting there. In my 42 years on this earth and as an Aries I might add, I've concluded that inevitably everyone will have an opinion, invited or not. So, why hinder your dream based on the reactions of others? Hypothetically, If all of your readers loved your work and you received no criticism at all, how validated would that make you feel? It would feel a little contrived to me. My view is, you can't reap the rewards without accepting the discomforts associated with it. You must accept the pitfalls inherent in public domain exposure as many Actors, Musicians, Politicians, and others have done since their conception. Why not pretend you are an Aries in those moments because then you won't care about the views of people who comment with venom rather than rational, thought-out critique. I hope that waffle made some sort of sense to you? Anyway, keep up the good work young lady, and don't forget to have fun.
Just discovered your channel through another youtuber. I don't agree with the "write what you know". I've heard that you should write what you love, especially if you love reading a specific genre and are familiar with it - write it! I also have a fear of being know - kind of. And I'm and Aries (an introverted one, but my midheaven is in Aquarius)!
I am sooo happy to hear you discuss adjusting the original chapter count and layout. Trying to follow a template to the T isn't a requirement- in fact I think if you have an original story it will have original(ish) structure elements. Story structure is an important thing to research and understand, but it isn't rigid structure that HAS to be followed for a story to work.
yes, exactly!! i love my structure template, but it's a guideline, not something that must be strictly followed! i mostly use it just to keep my pacing relatively on track XD
lol that's something that influenced my decision! originally i was planning to do just one pov per chapter but then i was thinking like there's no rule that says i HAVE to do it like that, and rainbow utilized that technique beautifully, so i figured i'd go for it! XD
