You're meant to compress the ear tips before inserting them in your ears. You roll them into a little cylinder, then put them into your ear canal, and then let them expand to the shape of your ear.
It helps with the bass and acoustics. Similar to the over ear headphones that have sound cancelling. Gives you that studio experience. If you have other earbuds that don't have memory tips. I advise buying a pair off Amazon. They really help with the listening experience. I had to do that for my current powerbeats pro and it makes a world of difference. Hope this helps 👌🏾
Man sony makes the best headphones, I was surprised when I switch from bose to Sony, it was 50x better than the the quality of bose and it was the same price...
"If you want to lay down with your earbuds some people do"😂😂😂 Man I've been looking for someone mentioning that in any review about any earbuds YOU'RE THE GUY BUDDY.. 👏👏🙏
Just got these. Set them up on S20 Ultra using LDAC on Tidal. All I can say is WOW. Never thought Bluetooth could sound this good. A steal at their retail price.
A steal at 279? The soundcore Liberty 3 Pros for 149 with active noise canceling, the soundcore Liberty 2 + for 99 with ldac or the status in between Pros for $89 after the 10% discount when they're on sale is a steal. These for nearly 300 are not a steal. Those three I just mentioned all sound better than the XM 4's
@@OneFineVol everyone on RU-vid and facebook. Comments and reviewers rave about the status imbetween pros and liberty 3 pros. Personally I like the 2's better. No one raves about the Sony for their sound, only for their noise canceling. Way too pricey just for that. The best deal out of all 3 would be the status for $89
@@delboy-su3wf the Sony's? Have you tried increasing volume in the app? I don't know about the XM4, but the XM3 had a separate volume slider in the Headphones app that was independent of the phone's volume level. I have it set up to max and usually only go up to about half of my phone's volume bar.
SONY has been killing it with both headphones and earbuds for the while now. Actually they have generally been killing it with their audio products in general
@@vitorfernandes651 Nice arrogant comment. Expressing your opinion as someone being "wrong". WHAT I said is not "wrong". It's my opinion based on my own experiences with their products. You are merely stating your opinion. As am I. I have used a number of Sony headphones and earbuds and have found none of them to be uncomfortable (that's about as subjective as it gets). And really?....your analysis is based on what you have tried at airports lol. Get back to me when you have actually used said products for any length of time, and you can actually talk about the things like sound quality, ANC, customizable app, battery life etc.......instead of nothing more than your superficial impressions from the airport.
@@vitorfernandes651 these are earbuds and no stores let you trial these for hygiene reasons. At least not in my Country and the Airports I’ve been too.
I absolutely love mine! I love how it switches from noise cancellation to Ambient noise when I start talking and returns to music after 5 seconds or however long you want it to return to Noise Cancelling/ Music. The sound is up there with my over the head Sony XB-900 and that's saying a lot cause those batboys put out some serious Bass!
It's actually good that only you can interupt the playing music, cause the other way around it may disturb you every time when the other person is talking to other people around you.
I just bought these earbuds and I know everyone is hyping these up. Maybe this feedback will help: 1.) If the buds feel uncomfy at first, put on the smaller earplugs and pinch the tip before putting it in (that's what she said) 2.) when listening to podcasts, a weird noise happens with them. Almost like a high pitch note being played.
@@treytaggart2063 do you use ios or android? Really confused on which I should get since I’m on Apple, would the Sony’s be just as good as the AirPods?
@@jss8093 I’m returning my Sony’s because they aren’t as loud as the AirPods just had better noise canceling and bass and they are too big for my ears I’m gonna buy AirPods
Just got mine last week. Switched to a samsung phone so I needed a good wireless earbud. And let me say, the sound quality of these especially when using LDAC absolutely buries airpods pro. I'm someone who uses beyerdynamic dt1990 pro headphones at my desktop ($600), and I think these sound good even in comparison. Especially using tidal lossless audio
Have had a silver pair since release. Worth every penny of the price. Dont put silver case into your jeans pocket unless you want to tint it, from personal experience... 😅
If anyone reads this comment, make sure you TRY THE SMALL EAR TIPS. With the medium and large ear tips, it doesn’t go into the ear as far and you can’t keep the buds snug in/around your ear. So don’t worry, it’s not the buds. Just customize it to what you need and trust me, you will see how good these are. Just got them today and I love them already (coming from MDR-XB950BT headphones).
@@yessuhdudee5074 I have learned that any ear tip other than the original ones will fall out. The third-party ones I have tried don't have the notch that the original ones do, in order for them to not fall out when taking your earbuds out.
i didn't have this earphones , but i have a lmid range sony headphone which is sony wh ch700n , my phone support dolby atmos and for that headphone it sounds phenomenal , so i bet this earphones will sounds great too
I use dolby atmos for music on spotify with LDAC codec and sound priority mode with everything maxed out , it sounds like in studio with your favorite artist , it just depends if you use neutral eq if an audiophile or prefer more classic as it is eq that is decent but not groundbreaking , dolby atmos works best with neutral sound in my opinion on my sony wh-1000xm3
I love these buds and I’m a borderline audiophile. I’m also a basshead and I love how the app lets you eq them for sub bass. They have really good noise canceling, too.
So far the buds are pretty good, especially its amazing ANC function, speaking as a user who went from buds without ANC to ANC buds. The firmware might require some slight updates. Overall, a great purchase for me. Don't regret paying that much for it yet.
For me personally, I don't feel any discomfort wearing them while commuting at all. It can be worn for at least a good 2 hours. At first you'll have some minor discomfort around the front of your ears. But after you are more familiar with the buds, you can normally find the best way to wear them that doesn't cause any pain.
@@YesNo-xc2dr yes. I run a lot and I thought that I'd have trouble keeping them on. Not once have they fell. Also they are a God send at the gym with the noise canceling.
Just got mine Friday. Everywhere has been sold out and unfortunately all I could get was the grey color. I want the black but they sound amazing and I’m glad the Bluetooth connection on iOS has been fixed from the last generation. Great review as always!
I am travelling and I forgot my AirPod Pros. I bought the Sonys today and I am so pleased with them straight out of the box. I have been using them with my IPhone 13 with Apple Music and they are far superior to the AirPods.
@@MUSTAKKothiwala wtf...?! Really now..? You have to be exaggerating. No over the head headphones can be outdone by an iem (unless your spending 2-3k) let alone a BT earbuds.. But then again, they're your ears and not mine.. So i guess you could be right. But i just don't think that's possible.
Thanks for this great review. You can't believe that I've only just got this today for the first time ever. ( I've been using a different one from another brand) I live this piece from Sony even if there's a newer one now (X5). I got this for a lower price. Thanks again for the video.
I had watched a video by DesFit I believe, he ran with them and does a fairly good active review. I’ve had the Bose quiet comfort earbuds and those were very secure but I was stupid and thought I missed my AirPods so I went back. I was wrong, I am selling them to go back to the Bose for sure. I’d say they are pretty close from what I’ve been reading with the Sony maybe slightly better but I’d say you can’t go wrong. Idk if Sony has volume control on the ears but Bose does and that could be a deciding factor as well.
Enjoy the review! Wound up disabling speak to chat, for the sake of being on conference calls and it turning on from hearing other voices. That was a dope a wireless charger. Who makes it?
Update: Just going to share this as i just bought them. Sep. 2 22, now to pair you need to take them out, put them in your ear and push poth down and hold. You will hear "pairing" then you can find it in BT menu.
I bought them (yes I still watch review videos after purchase) and the sound is great compared to other BT headphones. The lack of multi point is the most annoying part for me. While the call quality is not the best, in a quiet office environment, I get no complaints. It does some strange things though, if I pause, it sounds like it toggles ANC and ambient mode on and off and it sounds odd/annoying like pressurizing then depressurizing. NFC and multipoint, that would make 9/10. Without, and for $280.. 7.5/10. Happy but also thinking why did they skip out on some usefull features.
These are crap barley any volume. China 5 pound ear phones ten times louder plus the Sony block no noise. I swear i only say truth . Is it my Huawei phone. Im angry how bad these are. I can hear the bus peeps talking. I remember some sony wired noise cancelling i had when in use blocked out every one in a loud pub. Your also right about seal. When jogging i get no power energy as volume so low. Yet some headphones i have give me strength to run more.
Got these Monday, using them for work calls paired to my MacBook Pro, and some media Replacing my WH XM3 So far it has been great, like mentioned you do sometimes need to do an extra twist so they seat well, noise cancelling is excellent, something I could not get working on the headset If they power off most of the time by the time you have them seated in your ear it has reconnected So far no one has complained about the mic, so gonna assume it's ok or better After 4 days of use gonna say worth the cost
Just got into the wireless earbuds and got me some beats but these right here always got my attention there's so many out there so it's frustrating to stick with one but your videos give me a nice sense of confirmation best information compared to others being around the bush and never giving you a straight answer thank you brother
Pro tip: The beige version doesn't look all that good in pictures, but in person the color is actually pretty dope and you can stand out from the crowd more since everyone is usually rocking the black and copper
I don't own these but when you told me the price, I genuinely thought it was such a good deal because of everything they offer, Amazing review as always :) Update: After saving up, I bought them and the sound is truly out of this world 👀❤️
No lie i left my Samsung buds for these and it was A MAJOR upgrade. Much more punchy and ruch sound. (Also i switched out the foam tips, others fit more comfortably for me)
There is no reason to spend $279 on these it's sony they will have great discount every couple months I'll probably get those on black Friday pretty sure it'll be like $220 to $200
Can anyone comment on the latency of these things? Like is the audio "behind" video on movies, RU-vid, etc.? I'd be using them on a *OnePlus 7 Pro* with Bluetooth 5.0 (has A2DP, LE, and aptX HD). Thank you 👌
That’s the thing for me.. I like these, as for the features but I have the Airpods 2 right now (not pros) and they fit perfectly for me which I love though they are feature lacking. Tried the airpod pros and they are just not as superior for me when it comes to comfort. For me, it’s always is comfort first and then music quality, NC second, third etc.
I returned my 3 days old xm3 and exchange it to xm4. XM4 is slightly better on bass , but the XM3 has just a bit forward mids and highs. The equalizer helps big time for both. The XM4 is more comfortable on my ears vs the XM3. Sound signature for both is awesome! Better than Bose earbuds. If you like R&B’s or bass heavy music, XM4 is your best bet! Loving mine so far!
Truth is you never get the advertised 8 hours of battery life from these earbuds because if you have finished listening with them and DON'T then immediately place them back into the charging port box the buds drain battery like CRAZY. I left my earbuds on the side over night and they were both at 90% at night, by the morning they had drained to 20% each! It's a huge design floor.
I actually tried to buy those at three different target stores, and one Best Buy near me last month. They were entirely sold out, so I bought the Bose QC in-ears and will buy these next month. The Bose that I purchased were also US$279, and sound great. But look like dual bluetooths and are HUGE.
I just kopped the SONY WH1000XM3, and they're some of the best headphones I've ever purchased. I'll eventually kop a pair of the WF1000XM4, so I can have a premium pair of true wireless bluetooth headphones.
Best earbuds on the market. Listening to each song is like a completely new experience each time, it's magical really. Sony knows earbuds and headphones, period.
My only gripe with these are the foam tips sort of "peel" over time. But they haven't changed in audio quality. Hopefully they'll fix this issue with the next generation. The ANC with these are... God Tier!
As always another excellent review. Truly one of the best tech reviewers on YT!! Though I'll be sticking with my airpods pro cause of their simplicity and comfort level.
Man this is a solid video but still you have to make the calling test in a noisy environment, but seriously i loved this review, and i’m definitely will subscribe and like.
The sound is great BUT within a year, I had to send both earbuds back to the Service Centre. Why? Because the battery would drain off within an hour! So, what happens after the warranty period? You would have to pay for this defect. Let the buyer beware!!
I just got the earbuds today, and I love them! But… I plug them in to charge, and everything seems fine in terms of getting them powered. But, even when they’re fully charged (as is the case), the LED stays on yellow. They’re still plugged in, but shouldn’t the indicator LED turn green or off when they’re fully charged? At a glance, I find it very confusing that the LED stays on yellow even though everything’s fully charged. Is my case faulty? EDIT: It actually seems to turn off after about 5-6 minutes. But, if I plug them in again, it starts over. According to the support documents, it should turn off immediately after being charged fully. Thanks for reading :)
had these since day one. Best earphones all around. Use them at the gym daily as well, 100% recommend. Just still waiting for a good plastic case, no silicone cases
Great video, of course you already knew that. To be honest, I thought $250 was a lot for the AirPods Pro and I still think that $280 is too much for these earbuds; even though I think they have a better value than the AirPods Pro. Maybe a $200-$210 is a good price for these types of earbuds. I hope you do a long term review of these earbuds because my concern is the longevity of the ear tips and how accessible, in stock and price, they are.
I always used budget headphones until I got some airpods, then airpod pros, then the qc35s, then Airpod Pro Max. They honestly do get better and better as you level up in price. I will be looking at these to potentially replace my airpod pros. I dont really use ambient features so that doesnt matter. They look so good compared to last gen as well. I felt like the old ones looked like they bluetooth earpiece everyone use back in 2009
@@dirty_dan75158 Holy cow. I mean, I make a really good living, but I just can't bring myself to spend this kind of cash on such basic stuff. I guess it comes from just scraping by when you're young maybe.
Your reviews are ok. What would be good is if you start with the audio quality first since that’s the primary reason for headphones. The issue with the previous gen was the volume. Are they louder? Etc.
I have used the WF-1000XM3 non-stop for a year and a half and I can say they have great noise cancelling and really good sound quality. The only downsides they have is that the case is way bulky compared to Galaxy buds and they have lost almost 50% of battery capacity compared to when they were brand new. Nor the less, I will definitely buy this new ones.
They broke in 20 days. Sound quality and noise canceling are amazing but be warned there are defects - one i experienced was the headphones staying connected after i had put them back in the case. Saw several people online complain about the same thing with no solution. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PRODUCT
WOW THESE HEADPHONES ARE BAD maybe defective but wow got at best buy loud metallic sounds during voice on left phone more than right and when you shake your head popping sounds with sound off like something loose inside, 1 of the battery's are draining faster, when you push the right headphone it pauses SO WHY TF would it pause when you take one headphone out??? i need to keep hearing something but want to take my one earphone out??? these have low volume on max ambient sound and noise canceling is not as good as Samsung buds pro, the automatic functions are a joke and adjusts the volume randomly and make ambient sound quieter and quieter and when i talk it goes into noise canceling in default mode, EQ and interface is slow and counterintuitive
Most uncomfortable earbuds. Can't have it in my ears for more than 30 minutes. My ears are soar. I might return them, but hesitant because of the superb sound quality.
