Thanks for sharing all your wonderful on organizing and storage ideas! I'm just laughing because I don't know whether we are collectors and hoarders of beautiful shiny objects or whether we're actually crafters and creators! I'm I know I'm a lot of both! I send creative inspiration to all who read this!

I'm not the only 1 obsessed with little baggies!!! LOL. I use hardware drawer towers to store my beads. I am able to find them at a lower price around here, instead of the plastic bins. Also glad you recycle beads from clothing, purses, etc. I had quite a collection of beaded 50s angora sweaters & cried when they started to fall apart. So the beads joined my stash.

Random but helpful tip: if you go to Walmart and buy a big ol’ bag of the crystal style kitty litter, (I think they have some around $5 for a HUGE bag) it’s VERY similar to what you will find in desiccant packs (except non-toxic if a pet gets at it). Next step, a quick stop at dollar tree for a one dollar pair of nylons, and a pack or two of the small zip ties. Cut a double square of nylon, put a bit of crystal litter in, zip tie the top closed, and you’re good to go. I make a bunch at once and replace all the old ones every now and then, since I live in a hot, often humid climate.

Cat storage is always important in any creative space. lol I have a couple super satchels. They are so versatile and have so many inserts. Great Video!

Alecia, once the silica packets have been working for a while they become inert. In other words they no longer work.However, if you take them and spread them out on a piece of foil in a 100 degree Fahrenheit oven for an hour they will dry out and work again. Just thought that living in Florida , you ought to know .Good video, by the way!

I have recently purchased several of the same photo box containers to organize hundreds of photos that I have been needed to organize but never thought of using it for my jewelry, what an awesome idea!. I also got mine on sale at Michaels and used the coupon so at such a great deal I’ve bought several to organize my photos. Now I will have to buy some more when they go on sale to organize some of my jewelry. I too have been doing jewelry for 20 years and have accumulated lots of stuff!! Always cleaning out and re-organizing! I enjoy watching and learning from your videos, your technique and explanation of everything you do makes it so easy to follow you. yes!! I agree on that with the bags, I use the bagging system too for most things too and put them in plastic containers as well. I moved a shelf that I had in my living room and put that in my beading area in my bedroom and I place my containers on there as well as under my beading table. so far I'm good there and it works great for me...when I don't feel like beading at my table i'll prop up some pillows behind me and one on my laps to place my bead board on and work in bed

I use bags in the long desk trays. I don't have much space and it really makes things compact. I put the trays in a plastic 3 drawer storage container.

Storing everything can be a job all by itself. Those of us with small areas we can use, it is even more important than ever to find what works best for each of us. I have a pretty good system started but you just gave me another idea that I can implement into my storage. Thanks for sharing!

You should get some of the brown tarnish resistant tags. You can get alot of them for cheap .And then cut them into fours. They last along time.I love the box with all of those containers. I definitely want some.🤗

Aleshia, I love the last boxes you showed. The ones I get are "Hildie and Jo" - I purchase mine at JoAnn Fabrics. I must have about 15 or 16 of them! I have 3 or 4 that have findings in. The other boxes, I have beads in - speed by bead types, bead colors, bead shapes. These are my favorites! I DO use the SMALLEST Zipper bags for spring and storing some of my beads in these boxes also. I love the rounded bottoms on them for easy

Haha! I love it!! I store so many things in bags and all different sizes. I always joke around that I should have stock in a bag company. "This is where I store my cat" LOL!! My cat loves to sit on my lap and my dog is at my feet. I have also have a compartment in my storage for bead soup. But sometimes I'm lazy and don't feel like putting 2 or 3 beads away so I toss them in a huge martini glass that sits on my desk. I love the Darice bead storage containers too and have a ton of them. Hello Aleshia, I don't bead anymore. In December 2015 was knocked over by a car when I was on a pedestrian crossing. The most amazing thing is I am alive. Sadly I sustained a brain injury so I can't follow patterns I've even tried recording my voice so I could listen to instructions when I was cooking. Now, I won't say me in charge of the oven doesn't have its challenges and I thought I'd pressed the right buttons for it to go off after 10 - 15 minutes but it seems I did 10-15 hours by mistake by which time the pizza was dark brown and crispy. My husband then made the oven strictly out of bounds. Anyway, back to my story before I forget... Even though I don't bead your videos are a must. Your voice relaxes me when I am in pain, who needs deliberate ASMR videos when I can listen to you. You've just got to the cats in your chain compartment and I love cats. Thank you for putting your videos on RU-vid, I absolutely love them and the excitement in your voice when unpacking your bead box subscription is very uplifting. Thank you. Now that is how it's done! Maximum use of space. I use bags too, but I love my tubes and round containers( like a snuff can but clear plastic). I literally have hundreds of them. I use those $.98 shoeboxes from Walmart but I'd love to have more ArtBins, they are awesome but are a little high. I love your storage system videos, I always learn something new and I enjoy hearing the stories of your beads and how you acquired them. The advice you give about bead block is so true, that is what I do and I have so much stuff that I could bead 24/7 for years and not run out of beads (and I keep collecting more!) but also watching yours and others videos can inspire me too. I have cats and they are BAD kitties who think my beadmat is a comfy bed as soon as I step away and my shiny round things make great toys so I have to keep my projects tucked away to avoid disasters...I can't imagine trying to bead and film a video with my cats! Yours must be a good kitty.

I love this series! I too have started storing my beads in bags mine was done not purposely though I just had bags and put beads in bags to keep them sorted until I got more storage containers. Glad I'm not the only one. I also like to keep and find metal hardware from bags or belts.

I am loving this series! Your excitement is contagious and we're hearing a lot more of your personality come through. I would personally love to see some of the thrift items you find and how you utilize the beads from them. I tend to use wooden beads in home decor rather than jewelry, but I love the feel and look of them so I should try making jewelry with them. About pearls: Susan of Turtle Soup Beads buys natural pearls through ebay and ali express and dyes them with alcohol ink. You can make any shade you want and it holds up better than painted glass. I want to try it because I love the look of pearls but primarily make bracelets. I learned the hard way to resist the intoxicating beauty of painted pearls because it doesn't last long with the wear and tear of bracelets.

I inherited a lot of beads from my sister. She kept most of her beads in clear dollar store containers. I don't know how you remember everything you have in each box. I buy quality 4 mm bags. They are easy to label, store, and take up little space. The good quality bags last a very long time. I use the silica packets too, and they are great.

When I have a migraine, just looking at all the beautiful colors and textures relaxes my mind. i will open a container of beads and just love them all. But picking out beads to do a project with is so hard. With so many choices...how do you decide on what beads you are going to use for a project? I end up with 20 containers of beads, string, findings around me then i cant decide what to do. can you tell us your thought process on designing? and how you decide on the beads? Good idea with putting those little bags of seed beads into little plastic containers

I just started using the tiny bags for my beads inside of my storage containers. It really does maximize your storage space. Also I went through my headpins & eyepins and stored them in those medium size plastic tube containers that the lids snap closed on. They are round. Mostly just for the small ones. But it works great for small spacers, crimps, clasps and wire protectors. And then store them in a storage tote. Works awesome and I don’t have to worry about it spilling out all over the place inside a open storage container.

Alicia... please, please, PLEASE, do not store your FW pearls/natural pearls in plastic, or an airtight environment! It will cause them to crack over time... Please go to www.purepearls.com for info on how to care for them, or just Google how NOT to store your pearls... you'll find a plethora of information. I'd hate to see your investment in pearls become damaged or ruined. Just an F.Y.I. All my best to you and yours. 🤗

BTW, if you go to the fishing supplies at Wal-Mart, they have boxes with dividers exactly like the ones in the craft section (even made by the same company) for significantly less. I've even found them for half the price. Just another example of companies pricing items higher when marketing primarily to women.

I'm convinced acquiring supplies is a craft all by itself. 😂 That said, I just got rid of a lot of bags because the seams were splitting. So I guess take time to replace them every so often. They don't give beads away.

I don't have a hugh bead collection but this is how I sort them. Keeping them by colour mostly. Most of my beads come from mixed bags i got on clearance. In a short rolling storage tower, 2 X 3 inch bags and those long plastic storage boxes that are for desk but the ones I get are 3 for a dollar in dollars stores. The bags fit in the plastic storage box and I have the beads set up by colour. The box and bags work like a file box, I don't have to take anything out when I'm looking for something. I do this with 2 oz clay blocks also.

Those packages of bags from Walmart are the best! I’ve been buying them for a few years, the smaller sizes used to be $1 for 100 and the large ones were $2 for 100 but now they all went up to $2 for all of them so I think Walmart is catching on haha. Stock up now

I never knew where to store the cat when I was done with it! I always just peeled cat off me and stored it on my sister's lap where it could stay for hours because she would hold still and not move until cat wanted to move. Thank you for this video. It has inspired me to organize more. I am going to WalMart for sure today and buy some bins. I am a very visual person and I love to see my beads out. If I had my way my bead room would look just like a bead shop with a big table right in the middle of the room. I want everything out in the open. But that's not realistic. For one, all the display equipment is very high priced and for another, my bead room just isn't big enough. I think the second-best way may just be the bead bins that you have shown us in these last 2 videos. Where did you get the Iris photo keeper bins? Or was that craft keeper. You showed it briefly toward the end of this video and you are storing your findings in it. Do you bead all day long? That's my dream life. I would also like to have a group where we meet on a particular night of the week and we all just sit around and bead. Like an AA meeting only it would be a BA meeting and instead of trying to stop beading, of course, we would promote it. Maybe add a little margarita on that night and see what creations we come up with. LOL I don't know any beaders and we have to drive a distance to find a bead store. Thank you again for this video. I also have been using baggies Alicia. I hung up picture frame wire across my wall, 7 lines. Two for seed beads, one for bicones, one for rondells etc. Organized by color then size. All across the entire wall, attached to the wire with safety pins, so they slide back and forth. I call it my bead wall. Makes it so easy, i can just look up and find what i need. Which is great as i know exactly what i have at all times. I take a picture of it and when at the bead store, i can see what i need and what i dont. I do have one problem, perhaps you might know a solution. About twice a year i need to change the baggies of every single bead (hundreds) baggie i have, because the baggie becomes very cloudy with time. So much so, you cant see the beads any longer. Do you have the same issues? Is there baggies you know of that has solved this problem? Any info would be greatly appreciated as this really works for me. But extremely time consuming to bag them all again.
