Todd, YoLink should put you on the payroll. I am very serious about that, as your ability to explain their product surpasses theirs. They could save many folks a lot of time and frustration if they would employ you to prepare tutorials. They would sell more product in the long run and garner loyalty to the brand if people could understand how to use the product with Alexa, as you described at minute 10.30. Thanks for the good explanations!

I love this flex fob. I use it to activate/deactivate the house security without needing to go through my phone. Sometimes, you just don't want to tell Alexa anything (especially if you don't want people to know your specific voice commands).

A yolink outdoor motion sensor at the gate would be perfect detecting visitors so you don’t have to watch the camera

I use a yolink fob and programmed in fav playlist routine to play music. Easier than a long verbal command and Another button to turn on hot water recirc plug that then goes off after 5 minutes. Lots of uses.

Wish uplink delays were longer than 30 minutes. Trying to get my water valve to turn off after no motion detected for 24 hours. Great for rentals. Contacted yolink but haven’t heard anything.

FYI, After having a major medical event in my home at 2AM, lucky that my SO was here and was able to dial 911, turn off the alarm and open the electric gate, unlock the front door. I realized that if she hadn't been here I would have died. She isn't always here. So I ordered up a Z-wave Yale lock for the front door, which unarming the alarm will unlock, an emergency key fob, disarming the alarm, and a medical response for my alarm system, but that didn't open the gate. I realized that a Yolink 4 button or a Flic button would open the gate. I'm assuming that by wearing the fob and having the flic button close, hopefully, I'll be able to at least push the buttons. Don't get old, it's a bitch.

Hello. I bought this because I have a Routine which announces via Alexa when the front door is open (Yolink sensor) that I want to be able to enable and disable without having to go into Alexa to turn off the Routine as I do it often depending on if our baby is up or sleeping as to avoid noises in the house. Same for a Porch motion alert routine announcement (also Alexa). I cant figure out how to do this either via Alexa or Yolink using this remote. Can you offer some advice please? Thanks

Yes. That's built in to the Yolink app.

Can alexa functionality work without yolink hub, i dont have any yolink devices, i just need to use the buttons to trigger alexa routines.

You will have to have the yolink hub in order for that to work.

Hi Todd, I just came across your channel and was about to order a different system. I really like the range on this system. My question is that there are a few negative reviews saying that after a few months of the no-cost service, something in the programming prevents the system from working unless you opt for their subscription. Is there any truth to that? Thank you for helping all of us layman out. Very kind of you.

Hi John, I've never heard of that. I've been using all sorts of Yolink products over the past year and have always experienced success! Right now, I prefer the Yolink smart devices over every other brand due to dependability, low cost, and distances. -Todd

Just adding my two cents here. I have been buying and using YoLink products since early 2021 and have an extensive setup of them in our home, and I have never heard of or asked to sign up or pay for any subscription to anything to use them. I can only guess that any such reviews were posted under the wrong product brand, as I sometimes see happen by careless posters.

Hi, Each button ONLY performs ONE action. So, you would need to assign one button - for - ON - and another button - for - OFF. Thanks for your comment! -Todd

I have a bunch of yolink products but I fail to see the usefulness of this. Wouldn’t it be easier just to say Alexa, turn on/off office lights?

It's useful for certain situations. For example when I am in bed for the night I am breathing through a CPAP mask and connected to a machine for my sleep apnea, so I would be unable to speak to Alexa quickly if needed to turn a light on, etc. Pushing a button makes it quicker and easier because I don't have to get all unmasked and unhooked and turned off and then put everything back on.

For spouse he can never remember commands. And for turning on hot water recirc pump and not disturb others who are sleeping. One is a turn n all lights if I hear something at night. Do not want intruder to hear where I am at.

It's a bummer that only one function per button is available for use with Alexa. Otherwise this was a much cheaper alternative to the overpriced Flic buttons.
