I love how half of this video is filled with hyperbolic expletives like "it won't hesitate to try and kill anything in its path", but then shows people calmly handling said spider

What got me though is that he contradicted himself I'm trying to pass it off and it being normal he attended for it when he was talking about the mouth spider he said luckily the mouse spiders venomous dry so it's harmless and then he said but don't get cocky if you don't make it to the medical office in time you will die which would mean it's not dry that's the only contradiction I have seen him the video though

Not fit with allergic reaction that would have made sense they didn't say anything about allergic reaction so obviously the Venom of the wolf spider is not dry and he misspoke

The Goliath species aren’t even defensive at all they can just sometimes have an unpredictable temper which is literally every spider I have 4 obts, 2 cobalt blues, feather-leg baboon, purple bloom, thailand black and curly hair (all females) I’ve only been collecting for alittle over a year now and I originally started with a Orange baboon (female) as my first T I freakin love obts I love the slings too their so freakin cute when their orange starts coming in it looks like they have peach fuzz omg the sass too come on who wouldn’t love?!?

I currently work in the gardening and landscaping field, in an area that is absolutely infested with the Funnelweb spider. As I am often working many miles from the nearest town, and often in regions that do not have mobile phone coverage also, it is rather alarming just how often we encounter them. This recent summer season, my girlfriend and I found seven male Funnelweb spiders inside and around our home, and I encountered many others in the work environment also. They are extremely aggressive, and will head towards, rather than away from, a person who disturbs or encounters one.

@lisazinn866 don't worry it's bollocks. Funnel webs are certainly more prone to bite than most spiders. 99% chance however if you get bit by one you had plenty of chances to not get bit. If you can see the pink under their fangs then you're already too close. Leave them the fuck alone and they'll do the same for you

@colewilliams6623
@colewilliams6623 6 лет назад
SO much wrong with this video! You need to clarify with what or whom the sider is aggressive toward. Jumping spiders are very curious and docile spiders. They ARE aggressive toward their prey. Same goes for the Tiger spider and the Ogre Faced spider. I have freely handled all three without a single attempt at a bite, and in regards to Jumping Spiders, I have free handled hundreds. No bites. Now, OBT (Orange Bitey Thing) and all trapdoor spiders; all HIGHLY defensive. They will strike at shadows. PLEASE get poisonous and venomous correctly! My OCD is triggered!
@stupaod
@stupaod 5 лет назад
You just triggered mine. Venom is a type of poison. venom (vĕnˈəm)► n. A *poisonous* secretion of an animal, such as a snake, spider, or scorpion, usually transmitted by a bite or sting. n. A *poison.* n. Malice; spite: "They dislike making their just criticism of a useful and earnest man an excuse for a general discharge of venom from small-minded opponents” ( W.E.B. DuBois). Definition of venom 1 : a toxic substance produced by some animals (such as snakes, scorpions, or bees) that is injected into prey or an enemy chiefly by biting or stinging and has an injurious or lethal effect; broadly : *a substance that is poisonous* 2 : a spiteful malicious feeling or state of mind : extreme ill will : malevolence venom [ven-uh m] 1. the *poisonous* fluid that some animals, as certain snakes and spiders, secrete and introduce into the bodies of their victims by biting, stinging, etc. 2. something resembling or suggesting *poison* in its effect; spite; malice: the venom of jealousy. 3. Archaic. *poison* in general. venom 1. A *poisonous* substance secreted by animals such as snakes, spiders, and scorpions and typically injected into prey or aggressors by biting or stinging. 1.1 Extreme malice and bitterness shown in someone's attitudes, speech, or actions. venom /ˈven·əm/ a *poisonous* liquid produced by some snakes, insects, and spiders when they bite:
@colewilliams6623
@colewilliams6623 5 лет назад
And what dictionary did you use to arrive at these definitions? Allow me to further educate. Merriam Webster: Venom: a toxic substance produced by some animals (such as snakes, scorpions, or bees) that is INJECTED into prey or an enemy chiefly by BITING or STINGING and has an injurious or lethal effect. Poisonous: producing a toxic substance that causes injury or death when ABSORBED or INJESTED. It all comes down to the mode of delivery. If it is through ingestion or touch, it is poisonous. If it is through a bite or sting, it is venomous. Here is how the Oxford Dictionary puts it: Poisonous and venomous are not identical in meaning, although they are often used interchangeably. A poisonous animal or plant produces toxins that are harmful when the animal or plant is touched or eaten, whereas a venomous snake or other creature is able to inject venom by means of its fangs, spines, or stingers. It comes down to scientific vs colloquial usage
@stupaod
@stupaod 5 лет назад
Your problem is that you've come to the erroneous position that poison cannot be injected. Utter nonsense. I'll include a definition from the Oxford Dictionary which I will quote below. The quote you've included does nothing in terms of suggesting that venom is not a type of poison. The fact that the meaning of the words is not identical is moot. Fact remains that venom is a type of poison. Poison is more broad and does not NEED to be injected by an animal, although it clearly can be. Oxford: Venom 1.A *poisonous substance* secreted by animals such as snakes, spiders, and scorpions and typically injected into prey or aggressors by biting or stinging. Do you understand what this means? It means that venom can be described as a poisonous substance(according to Oxford and others) or simply poison. Its very simple and yet here you are striving against simple logic and reason. P.S. InGestion can be used more generally to include any sort of substance into the body by any route.
@stupaod
@stupaod 5 лет назад
Its also very telling and pathetic that you included a definition from Merriam Webster(the only definition you could find that said toxic instead of poisonous) but left out part of that definition because it does not agree with you. This is the full, proper definition from Merriam Webster(I will highlight the part you dishonestly left out): 1 : a toxic substance produced by some animals (such as snakes, scorpions, or bees) that is injected into prey or an enemy chiefly by biting or stinging and has an injurious or lethal effect; *broadly : a substance that is poisonous* 2 : a spiteful malicious feeling or state of mind : extreme ill will : malevolence Heres some more from Merriam Webster: Definition of venom for English Language Learners : *poison* that is produced by an animal (such as a snake) and used to kill or injure another animal usually through biting or stinging : a very strong feeling of anger or hatred Definition of venom for Students : *poison* produced by an animal (as a snake or scorpion) and passed to a victim usually by biting or stinging Medical Definition of venom : a toxic substance produced by some animals (as snakes, scorpions, or bees) that is injected into prey or an enemy chiefly by biting or stinging and has an injurious or lethal effect; *broadly : a substance that is poisonous*
@colewilliams6623
@colewilliams6623 5 лет назад
I never claimed that venom is not a form of poison, just that poisonous and venomous are not the same. I did not include the rest of the definition as that part is irrelevant and also because they are referring to a broader definition outside of actual fact. That is why I made the scientific vs colloquial comment. If enough people use a term incorrectly, over time, the incorrect usage can become a sub-definition, if you will. Here are just 2 articles that I can pull up in a 2-minute search. One is from The Smithsonian, the other is from The Australian Academy of Science. I would think the reason for so few scientific articles dedicated to detailing the definitions is because it really is a simple concept. www.smithsonianmag.com/science/whats-difference-between-poisonous-and-venomous-animals-180956186/ www.science.org.au/curious/everything-else/poison-vs-venom Read them or don't. That is up two you. I cannot argue with someone that is willfully ignorant.

Half of these pictures are of a different sp. than described. As far as the jumping spiders, there is absolutely no need to fear them. Most of these often don’t attack. Wolf spiders are sweet. I hold my baboon Tarantula, dont recommend holding them a ton though!

guineapigplace and their fangs are too tiny to actually pierce the skin, except for the giant jumping spiders I'm pretty sure they'll give a nasty bite. Even then, they're only interested in a perch, not a unprovoked bite.

I saw a Goliath Tarantula when I was like 5... I went down the little side thing in the backyard where the bins were and there as one of those THINGS on the metal wall-fence-thing... **shudders** blrrrr... And I don't rlly know how it got there, bc I live in Australia... I'm pretty sure it was one of the neighbours 'pet' spiders that escaped... 😨
@eventsotherthingswithchris9019
I saw some video where in Australia, they gave basically Spider Rain. I gather this happens somewhere between July & September & it forces Burrow style spiders to seek higher elevation. Once somewhere else higher up, they go back to building webs & doing their thing until wind comes by, catching them, hurling them into the air where they now are part of the air current & then they fall from the sky!

Up here in the Western 1/2 of Massachusetts,,we started getting wolf spiders but these seem to be the darker black colored ones more than the ( I guess?) brownish colored kind. Technically due to our climate & how it shifts as much as it has a tendency to do ( I'm sure you've heard the term "New England Weather") we as an area / location aren't supposed to have these, but, well, they're here.

Not sure about "everywhere", like say for instance Antarctica. We can't even get scientists to stay there for more than 2 or 3 months tops, even with shelter. Not sure how any kind of spider would fare there, whether the wolf spider or some other species.
@eventsotherthingswithchris9019

pretty much all of the mygalomorphs will be aggressive due to poor eyesight and being ground dwellers. This includes tarantulas, mouse spiders, funnelwebs, trapdoors. The Brasilian wandering spider is a modern spider (araneomorph) but is unusually aggressive for a modern spider (alongside the common black house spider).
