All 3 brothers died standing tall. Toki holding the sacrifice for the future, Raoh holding his pride/conquest high and Kaioh holding his sins. Epic moments.
the 80s were awesome because the 40's was war, the 50's to 60's were the fallout of that war and more sex that we can hope to know, the 70's was the time there was nothing but bad clothing and weird movies....but the 80's, that where is it at. awesome music, awesome movies and awesome anime
I remember before getting the DVDs and watching the whole series in the early 2000s, I played through the Sega Genesis game that's based on the entire second series and in it when Kaioh kills himself after being defeated, instead of stepping on a rock to make the lava rise up into him, he shoots the ground with energy blasts to break it and bring on the lava that way. So I was actually a little surprised when I first saw the scene in the anime and how it was relatively mundane.
you.don't know so much about kaioh, he has his own history and sadness, even though he try to forget it. he is absolutely not a clone, but no body understand him.
Was always viewed as the black sheep, he had the greatest potential, and was the rightful successor, but his master literally belittled and berated him, he was a pure hearted soul, until all the animosity corrupted his fragile soul.
Here's a fun thing I just thought of. Raoh in his death returned to Heaven by literally punching his soul there. Kaioh returned to earth, swallowed by a wave of lava, which turned to rock. They were literally on the opposide sides of the spectre.
both lived by the rule of the 80s. When you die, you die hard as the lethal weapon you are, with a death so metal that you permanently upstage man-o-war, years before they are BORN!
Fist of the North Star, characters brutally fighting to the death but when one manages to repent and redeem himself by going out with a bang the opponent cries the manliest tear and the victor honors his death by holding a monten piece of his body without flinching. That’s what makes an awesome anime
I love how beautifully parallel Kaioh and Raoh's deaths are. Raoh punched the Heavens with all his life to show people the light, while Kaioh embraces Hellfire(the lava) to repent for all his own misdeeds.
thats how i wanna go out, i could imagine it now "hey jimmy how did your grandad die" "peacefully in his sleep, what about yours mike?" "standing in a fucking volcano"
infinitejinpachi idk, raoh's pretty good too: stabbed his broken leg so he could stand on it and flexed so hard he exploded his soul out of his body and directly to heaven
comic book reviewer "I just hope funimation or viz dub do a English dub on this so people who have not seen this can watch it" - You know, they could just go watch it..............in english sub.............like everyone else............you know with the original voices.............yeah.
I kinda laugh at the fact how badass and so man-like anime heroes were before and now main characters of the animes are mostly skinny ass wimpy little teenagers who constantly get thrown by hot bitches for fun xD
I think it was somewhere around the late 90's when anime writers were pushed to make the protagonists more relatable. I could be wrong but I haven't seen any NEW anime starring a masculine man hulk since then, they mostly serve as side characters. I don't count remakes, retellings or continuation of the original series with established characters as such because they're obligated to respect the source material, for the fear of being crucified by the fans.
Kaioh didn't go to hell, he lived a life full of pain, misery, the man who was supposed to be a father to him shunned him, made him feel like he will always be lesser than he is, and that he is worthless, he became a monster born of pain and hatred, he was denied his destiny, and did horrible things, and in the last moments of his life, the child inside him broke the monster, became free, didn't wash the evil things he did away, but he was redeemed, and he paid his dues with his life in the end.
Raoh didn't have one single regret in his life and died like a baddass, Kaioh regretted all his life choices but died as equally badass as his brother.
What a fucking legend! This scene gave me the chills once I heard the opening! Kaioh grew on me towards the end but hes still no Raoh. I’d argue his death is just as badass though
Kaioh, unlike Raoh, had regrets... He regretted that he did not follow under the subordinate role, and abide under the rules of the Hokuto Soke, unlike Raoh, Kaioh had no ambition besides trying to deny what his master said of Ryuo's line... He dies in regret that he never experienced love, he dies in grief of killing Hyoh's wife, he dies in regret of tarnishing what little respect the Ryuo's line clung to in history... in which Kenshiro, proves he is superior, not only through sympathy, in which he was unable to give which is integral to become the successor of the Hokuto Shinken. But he clung to a dream in which he was unable to fulfill from the time of his youth due to him being banished from learning the Hokuto Shinken.
What's even more unnerving for Kaioh is that Hyoh had the option to go with his brothers but he stayed in order to enslave Kaioh and take over his own families style out from under him in which Kaioh was forced to watch, and yet he was not bothered but he encouraged the hatred as it filled his soul with hatred which is the key to becoming stronger within the Hokuto Ryuken... but met his fate in the end not with triumph but with the mere consolation of death with a brother for whom in which he loathed his existance.
@@guillermomorales1056 In the games it was revealed that Ryu eventually turned Evil and that Kenshiro eventually had to replace him with the son of the celestial emperor.
In a way, Kaioh was the saddest character in the show. You could say it's kenshiro, but at least Kenshiro has those who care for him, Kaioh had no-one for a long time, and that loneliness messed him up.
More anime needs to end like this. Could you image if they did something like this in DBZ, or Evangelion? I can tell you what would happen. Manly tears would flood the world.
Khalid Alamin Vegeta's death had little to no meaning, just like all other DBZ deaths. All they have to do is use the Dragonballs, and everybody comes back like nothing ever happens. Death is pointless if you can just come back to life 30 minutes later.
Raoh's last kiai pierces the heavens, while Kaioh's last growl punctuates respect for the foe that bested him. One made his mark upon the Earth, the other upon Heaven. Both Heaven and Earth are central to humanity's cosmology. Ergo, both had an important impact.
When I first saw this scene, I had assumed that Kiaoh was simply going to go on one last walk. I don't understand why I had assumed that, since this is the same show that had Kenshiro throw a spear several goddamn miles.
manlys anime ever and i mean it. every 1 mayor character and a lot of secundary go down like a boss and true be told theres no man who see this show and no cry at least a couple times.
