Instead of a quill, you can always use fountain pens like a Lamy Safari. They make them in different line widths. Also don't have to worry about your paper tearing as well.
I'm mainly a digital artist but it's true that if you get stuck undoing every line 3-4 times it really isn't that much faster. Sometimes to get digital lineart done that has been taking too long I have to print it out and bust out the microns or else I'll never finish.
Using a quill seems so antiquated and I used them for nearly a decade. So now it's strictly faber castle markers that don't fade when erasing like microns do.
