ÇANAKKALE AYVACIK KAYALAR VILLAGE The establishment of the village dates back to the early thousand years. While the Turks who settled in Anatolia were establishing their villages, the commander and sailor Çaka Bey dominated the Aegean coasts and islands. Çaka Bey landed a branch of the Kayı Tribe of the Oghuzs by ships from the shores of the village, formerly known as Kayılar, which later became Kayalar. The tribe split into three branches from here, and the Yalı branch formed today's Kayalar village. They settled down and started animal husbandry and farming. The biggest resource of the village is olive, vegetable and fruit production. Olives and olive oil are famous in the region. Almost everyone in the village has olive fields inherited from their ancestors. The kitchen also consists of these products.
