Valerie Marie I've transitioned to etizolam. It was hard to do and now I'm down to just dosing 4 mg of etizolam a night. I screwed up and tried tapering way way too fast. I figured since I'd only been on Xanax for a month and a half I could quit quick enough but basically I got 60 2 mg bars dropped in my lap (1 buck a piece) and told myself who literally just got through being clean of opiate addiction for 10 years made my 2 year mark on being clean that I would exercise control and only take them when needed. Ha.... ate 60 bars within two weeks and then re upped another 20 that month and at some point during a semi blackout I realized I was turning back into my old self. The bastard that hurt a lot of people for my addiction. Something made me snap out of and think "DUDE you need to stop NOW!!! None the less I "tapered" had no idea what I was doing really from doing 5 mgs and multi dosing throughout the day to .25 mgs. Was getting ready for work and next thing I new I woke up on the bathroom floor had a nasty bruise on my head. Pretty sure it was a seizure. So I upped my dose back to 1.5 mgs of xanax and spaced it throughout the day. Then transitioned to etizolam. Another hard part was getting to only dosing once a day. Now my plan is dropping down a mg a week. Maybe even a half if I need to but I feel as if the longer im taking these benzos the worst it's making things. Like I said opiates were my field of expertise. I don't know if this taper is safe but I seem to be doing and feeling better. I heard people tell me benzos made heroin withdrawal look like the sniffles but I just had to learn myself the hard way. I'm more mad at myself than anything else. But yeah quitting heroin and then suboxone was one of the hardest things I ever did. I had to just keep it at not even a day at a time but an hour at a time. I'd tell myself I cant take it anymore and that voice would say "just take a little sliver just one you can just take one and not have to suffer for a bit" but I'd tell that voice that it was full of shit and that I'd wait one more hour and if I still wanted to take that sliver I would. Each hour I would make it through. But seeing people like LA beast do the things he does makes me laugh. I've been subscribed to this guy back when he only had like 2000 subscribers. Back when he was doing challenges that didn't seem that extreme. Now he does insane shit and pulls through. But yeah they said there was a 5 percent success rate of quitting opiates without relapse. So far I've done it. Apparently Xanax or benzos is 2 percent. I don't see those numbers though cause that's all they are. The numbers don't represent me. It's not a can I do this mentality it's a I AM DOING THIS.

I hope everyone in this thread managed to quit their addictions and live a healthy sober life, I was taking xanax for 3 months and quit all of a sudden and its the worst withdrawals I have ever gone through, I nearly bit my own tounge off and couldn't breath at times it was horrendous, I pray you are all doing well and have found peace 🙏
