@airmann4673 the astonishing Iceman is a new retcon comics featuring Iceman. In that story Steve Orlando make Iceman have a boyfriend name Romeo. And in that timeline Iceman has a boyfriend and after being killed by Nimrod in Xman Hellfire Gala 2023, Romeo revived him using his empathic power. Retcon Iceman is ghey 😂
He was able to hold his form longer and longer on his own. They hinted that he was still around by a sign he left at the end of his issue. I think we r supposed 2 assume he recovered, maybe they'll retcon it and say it was all something subliminal that kept him weak.
Bobby's powers operate on a quantum level. Meaning, he can stop the motion of particles beyond a molecular level. Everything from a quark to a black hole generates heat or energy of some sort. Through processes such as fusion, fission and metabolism, etc-etc motion/action MUST occur causing entropy or disorder. Bobby halts that action, essentially "freezing" the increase of entropy on a quantum level. **He is pure entropy. The time Gem is the only thing I can think of that can manipulate time, as far as stopping it, therefore stopping entropy. However, I not sure if it works on a spacial, or quantum level, maybe both. It would essentially manipulate the wielder's position in space/time on a dimensional level, not quantum. **EDIT: I misspoke, Bobby ISN'T "pure Entropy", he is infact the ANTITHESIS of Entropy. He stops the action of entropy on a quantum level.
@@willthebeast8002 Technically, the Time Gem isn't the only thing capable of stopping Bobby's "entropy", there's literally *tons* of higher cosmic forces/beings in the Marvel Universe/Multiverse that are more than capable of perfectly shutting down and countering Bobby's powers thoroughly and not only that, but if memory serves, there's already a cosmic being by the name of "Entropy" who's the literal embodiment of "entropy" within the Marvel Universe/Multiverse anyway so despite the very nature of his powers, Bobby can never truly be "pure entropy" because that position has already been taken/filled by a far greater being/force whose existence, unlike Bobby Drake's, is actually intrinsic and vital to the Universe/Multiverse at large anyways.
@@nocturne311 Wtf ever said/implied anything about a "beef" and with *Iceman* for that matter?? "Good lord", people like yourself need to lay off the inaccurate accusations for your own sake please!!. 🙄🤦🏽♂️👉🏽
He is one of the most broken and he can handle reality warpers just fine. At his peak, he would be able to stop the universe, freeze everything and ending reality..
@@afro_princess1671 imo he can handle fighting powerful foes like that, but reality warping allows you to rewrite the existence of something so on paper that's just a more broken power set
@@afro_princess1671 Please. All Wander wound need to do is ask: "What Iceman" and delete him forever, irreversibly from the marvel universe existence in a few seconds.
Yeah, and then shortly after that, something happened to make Iceman a broken ice cube for a while. Bobby wanted Emma to fix him, but she wouldn't do it because she wanted him to fix himself, which he eventually did. And then she said "And best of all, you did it all by yourself." Years later I think about that issue.
@@TheJim42069 I’d rather see someone grow into their abilities vs a baby who was just born @ god tier. Franklin is a cool concept but a boring character.
gustavsmg Agreed. Handwavium at its worst. Stopping a nuke means a lot given the amount of energy involved. That means he could easily fight against any of the energy/physically based villains/heros
I forgot what Franklin's son is called but looks up his feats. It's ridiculous how strong he is is kinda of nauseating just like eddy Brock's son. The power scaling of that generation is completely insane but cool 😎
@@swslwatts Because of some retroactive BS that should most certainly be taken with nothing more than a grain of salt, otherwise, Franklin Richards is *still technically a mutant.*
he has a very high resistance to telepathy thanks to years of training with Professor Xavier, Emma Frost, and Jean Grey, and he can also instantly freeze things with just a thought, that includes anything inside another person, so what What matters is who hits who first, and as he has resistance to telepathy he would have more time to react
All the mutant reality warpers have entered the chat. Seriously, Ice-Man is op, but definitely not the strongest mutant when you have reality warpers like Nate Grey "X-Man" or Mad Jim Jasper in the pages. Still one of my favorite characters in comics though.
Or Jamie Braddock, Franklin Richards, or even New Sun Omega level Gambit who could just heat up Bobby Drake and make him explode. Non-Nerfed Gambit could also just stop him from being able to move.
Kang is pretty much immortal, Scarlet Witch can change reality at will, then "The Wiccan" or his 1st name "The Asgardian" from Young Avengers and he's kind of one of Scarlet Witches sons, which if you don't know this story, you REALLY need to read it, its such a great story, but he is like the ultimate reality warper, I mean way beyond Scarlet Witch (From my understanding)
Even when Nate Grey and Vulcan were around, he was in the strongest mutant debate. But I feel the way writers treated his powers changed somewhere in the 2000s.
An omega lvl luck mutant would win anyone by plot armor default. Fck probability. Cos 42. Opponents would just be warped into a pot of Pertunias just because.
Technically speaking, if we're going by the highest potential, Mystique should be the strongest mutant ever. (The story is stupid, but) The way they're described in the book, her new gene-shifting powers should give her abilities at least on-par with Meat Gardener Venom. But the writer is too stupid to realize the strength of the power he gave her, so she does literally nothing with her powers...
@@Joxshuxa Did you not read my comment? Mystique's powers were revealed to be GENESHIFTING, not shapeahifting. She manipulates her D.N.A., NOT her shape. She literally copy's people's D.N.A. to take their appearance. This allows her to change her D.N.A., and SHOULD logically allow her the ability to copy all D.N.A. based powers such as all mutant abilities, Spiderman's abilities, Venoms abilities, Fantastic Four's abilities (I think their D.N.A. for changed by cosmic rays?), Thor's Asgardian D.N.A. abilities, etc, etc... This newly revealed aspect of her power should put her AT MINIMUM, at Ultimate Kars levels of power, but more realistically, Meat Gardener Venom levela of power.
Y'all remember when Bobby Drake was straight for like fifty years, surrounded by powerful telepaths, and was a serial womanizer, but then turned out he was gay? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
And was used by the writer to rewrite his own coming-out story where he ended up bullying his parents instead of being humiliated by them. The writer chose Iceman because he identified with the character, then took over and changed the character so he could live out his fantasies, and subsequently dropped Iceman once he was no longer the character with which the writer had identified. Just another case of modern writers wanting to climb into the characters to wear them as a new skin and live out all their fantasies.
Why are y’all so hung up on a fictional characters sexuality like you need to remember what’s actually reality and what’s not. Take your delulu pills mate. And him being gay doesn’t change the fact that he’s not still cool like if your this pressed the calls are coming from inside the house.
Charles is leagues above Ice Man in power his brain is an Omega Level threat and Magneto also is an Omega level threat. They are some of the strongest. I would also say Wanda scarlet Witch and Cable.
Basically, Iceman is omega level because he can flash freeze just about everything. This includes the liquids in the bodies of every living thing in the area of effect. And since the majority of organisms respond poorly to being frozen solid, I'd say that's quite the omega power to have. He literally froze over hell at some point. Sure, there's always someone more OP out there, but I would definitely say that iceman is omega level.
@@Spawny3 of course he is I read most of his comics and also the X-men ones I was just saying that Charles Brain is more OP and Magneto but Ice Man is an Omega level mutant and has froze over all of hell so I do agree 👍 with you.
Hey remember when for 40 years Bobby was a confident ladies man dating multiple female mutants..and then in Modern day DEI comics they made him gay.. do you?
Hey, what do you expect modern day comic writers to do, create original characters with nuanced personality traits and intriguing backstories that we see fully fleshed out and the context gifted to us through a methodical and properly paced series of endeavors and situations...all while NOT relying on tokenizing already established properties or without the writers resorting to self-inserts or injecting their politics in to their, for lack of better word ,creation, be it the character or the entire intellectual property? You'd prefer fresh and interesting plots and storylines, in lieu of a tired and tattered extreme left wing agenda that is entwined with everything ranging from the main character to the main antagonist to the plot and storylines respectfully? What kind of sick monster are you? Don't you realize if MC had to use imagination, originality, and complex story to make a comic that theyd all be out of jobs and would be enduring the torturous monotony of a regular nine to five. Do you imagine the creators of Safespace and Dena Social Justice Warrior Princess(ok i made that one up) getting a MAN his coffee or typing out HIS itinerary, all while being paid 70% of what a man makes. You have no heart, you soulless deviant¿¿?????¿¿¿>))>)))>>>)>>>)>)))>>>>>))))>>)>)))))>))>))))>)))>)))))>))>>)>))>))>)>>)))>>)>>)¿))>>))>)>>>))>)>>>)>>>>>>>>>)>))>>))>>>))>)>)))>>)>))>>>))>
Let's not forget about the whole "let's completely retcon your character and have you secretly having been 100% gay this entire time, despite the fact that you have in no way ever shown any indication of being so in the sixty odd years your character has existed" wildcard. Man it's almost like the central writing staff at Marvel has been co-opted to shill for ideas and concepts that have never been a central aspect of the storytelling of the medium and if you are annoyed with the changes or complain about it then you have miraculously never been into the series and these people who've been involved in things for less than a decade suddenly have all the authority over more than half a century of accumulated lore and characterisation, then you are the bad guy who is somehow simultaneously a bigot because of how you have an issue with a character who has existed in canon for longer than the writing staff has been alive for has instantaneously and fundamentally changed almost every aspect of their personality and persona and to add insult to injury has "always been that way". Man gotta love having ideologs exploiting their youth and gender in their personal dealings with primarily lonely older male writing staff. That's totally not duplicitous and in contrast to their supposed beliefs or anything like that...
@@demas5334Because they tried to eliminate 60 years of backstory for a character with a new lame one. That's why. Could've said he was Bi, but nope had to rewrite X-Men history.
@@valkirie19 oh, so his character evolved. Like when Cyclops was made a villain, Gambit was made Omega level and nerfed himself, or when Jubilee was made a vampire.
franklin manipulated his body to make it LOOK like he had the x gene but he isnt an actual mutant which is why he wasnt allowed to go to krakoa anymore
Oddly, Magneto is supposedly Alpha-level. What makes an Omega-level mutant is that their powers continue to grow and expand. While Magneto is terrifyingly powerful, his powers are still at the same level as always.
Technically speaking, Bobby Drake/Iceman is *far* from being the so-called "Most OP/Broken Mutant In Comics" especially when you have beings such as Franklin Richards, Matthew Malloy, Nate Grey/X-Man, Onslaught, Hyperstorm (Nathaniel Richards if I remember correctly) and many other far more powerful/stronger mutants out there who completely outclass Bobby by *lightyears* anyway if we're "pulling rank" here lol.
Nah we dont want that (Unless I get to be one of them), because "The Boys" is a PERFECT example of what most of them would be like.... In comics they fight for good, and never do anything wrong really, but in real life 99% of them would be drug addicts, sociopaths, marketed for TV etc
People there are plenty of omega lvl mutants in the comics. Iceman is one of them, the guy who did this clip left some of his abilities out, he also left out some of the theories of how strong he is. He can create ice golems to fight for him, its theorized that he could freeze the entire earth if he chose to. All that being said some mutants that would stomp your list of omega mutants Mr.M Santa clause. Mad jim Protégé
Franklin was stated to be the most powerful mutant via Galactus as they both were there as the universe died from old age. Franklin then used Galactus energy (Gal was dying) to create a new universe. In that same dialogue, it was stated that Franklin created universe, multiverse, and concepts beyond that when he let his imagination run wild.
Yup. Galactus stated this as they watched the universe die from old age; so they would have seen all mutants ever born from the point that Adult Franklin defeated the evil Celestials. Also it has Franklin state how he went from his power going from universal, to multiversal, to beyond that when he lets his imagination run wild.
Iceman is the oerfect example of a comic character who started off woth really simple even modest powers but then overtime writiers just said screw it and gave him whatever power they wanted
Nobody is ruined because they’re gay. Hate ruins people. Brain rot ruins people. Homophobia ruins people. How many Ice Man comics did you have before his gay storyline?
While he's not really the Strongest Mutant, he's within the top 15, and he's vastly more popular then any of the ones ahead of him. Franklin Richards, Matthew Malloy, Mad Jim Jaspers, there's a few others, but theyre all obscure compared to Bobby
Its funny because Iceman has literally hardly ever defeated Magneto, Apocalypse, Mastermold or any big X-Men villain his best showings are against his friends
“They.” So ominous. Marvel writers did it. Humans. Those writers got it approved. Everyone who needed to be on board was. Lots of fans love it too. I personally think it’s pretty cool. I had plenty of friends who dated girls and never came out until college or later. Imagine being gay at the time Ice Man was introduced? Most gay men at that time kept it hidden. Just saying.
I remember in one comic his body learned to adapt to a beat down. He fought a super strong mutant once. The second time his body turned thick and covered in jagged ice.
When you realize the movies and cartoons haven't done many of the X-Men characters justice. I learned from Xmen 97 that Gambit was an Omega-level mutant. Like, seriously!? 🤯 Saw in a YT short that Remi was insanely poweful in the comics. Like, scary powerful. But in the 90s cartoon and Wolverine Origins movie, he's just a mid-tier character. 🤦🏾♀️ Guess that's why ppl read the comics. 😅
Iceman is real powerful and awesome, but he sure as hell ain't the strongest! Nate Grey/X-Man, Legion, Jean Grey if you count Phoenix Force as her power (I don't), etc... Even Gambit would've been more powerful if hadn't lobotomized himself. 😂
In my opinion, Iceman is one of the most powerful mutants in existence. Not only should he be immortal since he can become a being entirely made of ice, broken apart or melted, that should mean his mind can't be read or taken over because it isn't a human brain (it should be perpetually "slippery"). He should also be able to manipulate not just ice, but water, and he should be able to "brain freeze" most any opponent he faces.
Missing out where he was frozen by Colossus’ brother and possessed by Emma Frost who showed him what his powers could do, y’all need to check facts fr fr
