Med student here, love the content Frost!!! Quick note for viewers: acid reflux is a finicky condition where everyone is different in what triggers it for them and what doesn't. Monster energy is not less acidic than plain coffee and typically causes more symptoms, but everyone is different. Please talk to your provider if you have acid reflux because frost is right about the potential to cause Barretts esophagus. Love you all
I used to get bad acid reflux and i never knew why. Then i started smoking cannabis (legal here) and learned my body really likes sleeping on a full stomach. So i delay my dinner until shortly before bed.
I think Temporal Hiccup’s “extremely unstable” line is just a way to say “the way I’m making this work is extremely scuffed so don’t expect other mods to play nice with this”
Watching Frost remove claw in the event and then hover the curse in the shop to remove it only to delete the second claw was the most based thing and I loved it, he really did get his chat with that one lmao!
Temporal Hiccup is literally the most broken relic, in that it is very easily abused for broken mechanics, and also because it literally breaks many relics.
So, coupling Temporal Hiccup with Solid Time from the AKdreams mod, your powers stored in Solid Time become at the start of turn effects making them trigger every turn. Would love to see a run with this.
There's a relic that skips the enemies first turn that when mixed with temporal hiccup it cheeses every single fight but bricks the heart fight at dealing 200 damage because it can't refresh its hp counter
I have 2 ideas for why Garlic did not work: 1. Garlic works during the entire first turn, not just the start of the turn (which causes it to not proc because it’s technically not a ‘start of turn’ relic) 2. Garlic works at the start of each turn, HOWEVER the order of the relics matters (aka because gremlin mask comes after garlic, garlic procs first, THEN gremlin mask procs) Either way I am not confident but I’m pretty sure it was the first one cause it seems like the debuffs were never cleared after the first turn
Garlic flashes all combat long after he picks up Temporal Hiccup, but it stopped after the first turn before then, so it definitely looks like it's _supposed_ to be working. One funny thing I'm realising after rewinding to check that latter bit is.. doesn't TH break the "gain 2 Focus on turn 3" relic by making it never go off? Since it always behaves as if it is turn 1... [edit:] just saw another comment saying TH makes all relics go off as if it is "the start of combat" and not "turn 1", so that turn-based relics do still work... but then why is Garlic *always flashing* after the pickup??
it's because it says on turn one at the beginning of combat and not at the beginning of combat. the temporal hiccup triggers everything as if it's the beginning of combat every turn so turns still play out and turn relics still work. so anything that triggers "turn one" and not "beginning of combat" will not trigger, also to clarify beginning of combat happens before turn one, it's beginning of combat, turn 1-99999, then end of combat.
Then why does Garlic flash forever during combat only after he gets Temporal Hiccup, as if it's supposed to always be on? [Edit:] As the chat points out in the video, the Tuning Fork can't ever go off again because it never ticks its turn counter anymore once he gets Temporal Hiccup. So it's still breaking turn-counter relics from mods, it seems, at least?
Yeah I saw that, and was wondering what the hell that was for, was it just a mistake or was there some value to it?? It looked like he was trying to do it really quickly so that the cocktail relic wouldn't activate..? So weird.
@@David-Ma if you watch the clip back he went to go use it the card reward screen popped up and it distracted him enough that he prolly just fully assume he used it and never thought about it again.
so I think the interaction with Garlic is a discrepancy between its logic and the logic of Temporal Hiccup, which tbh I'm not sure is intentional. You can see the relic blinking after the first turn which implies it should be working but from what i can see (and I might be wrong I could have missed it) it doesn't work at all after the first true turn
Fun fact about Temporal Hiccup, it not only affects relics that affect the start of combat, but also once per combat relics, so if a relic said "Right-click to activate and gain Energy once per combat" you could actually use it every turn with Temporal Hiccup.
If Frost took Temporal Hiccup at the start of a run, I firmly believe he could beat Ascension 25 with ease. ESPECIALLY if he found Gambling Chip and Telescope. I'm not done the video yet (he just got the Telescope) but yeah, I think he could take it.
Challenge Idea: Sticky R Key, Deck 52 Either using the R-key from the binding of issac, or manually returning to the first stage each time, you go through the game as normal. However. You must make a deck with 1 of EVERY avalible card of your chosen class. NO MORE, and no less. This includes every grey/neutral card, and optionally, 1 of every curse. Doesn't take as long as you'd think! BTW, you must get rid of duplicates at every avalible opportunity.
Im just saying, if tuning instrument never hit the turn 3 timer because of the temporal relic, then Garlic should absolutley be applying every turn. I understand its a coding issue but i disagree that it SHOULDNT have worked, it absolutley should in the spirit of how its supposed to work.
Temporal Hiccup is not as strong as you think. The game treats everything on every turn as the first of the combat. Everything, including the enemies. So, the sentries will gain 1 artifact each turn. Lagavulin will gain 8 metalicize each turn. Etc. It's definitely not 100% win if you take it.
First turn =/= Start of combat Its not resetting the turn count since otherwise the relic that gives 2x Turn ammount as block would only give 2 nvm I didnt pause the video and see that you've admitted that youre wrong. Im still gonne be a stubborn kid and not stop writing this comment
I just wrote an angry comment scolding you for taking Ginger. Very happy that you listened to chat and tried to understand. I'm guessing your dyslexia doesn't help with these kinds of specific wordings.
I'm late to start the uprising but honestly Slay the Streamer is the one series i basically don't watch. Idk what it is just all the other content is more interesting to me. I think I just really dislike how random it is. I come here to see a good player and his choices and some funny memes sometimes. NOT to watch chat play... No hate just feedback from someone who watches every video for the past few years and has just really grown a dislike for this particular series.
It's okay if you dislike Slay The Streamer, but it is definitely one of Frost's best and most consistently performing videos so I don't think you're "saying it for the people in the back". Comparing each SlayTheStreamer video to the 6 videos uploaded before it (so that it has been up for less time in comparison), and looking at their rough view counts: 25th Dec - tied #2 (#1 was giga prismatic return) 18th Dec - #1 of the week 11th Dec - 3-way tie #2 (#1 was Warhammer 40k mod) 4th Dec - #6 (Mario skin mod, probably messed stuff up on its engagement) 27th Nov - #2 (#1 was first vid of Death Must Die) 20th Nov - tied #2 (#1 was Claw silent) 13th Nov - #1 6th Nov - #3 (#1 was Shops Only, #2 was Packmaster Prismatic) Slay The Streamer is definitely YT Content worthy.
