Oh marple my home village , hope you enjoyed our little village,, me a nurse worked in manchester my hubby a retired police officer and and on the 30 th retires completely, he was in security in Merseyway Stockport . So yes a new chapter,in our life !
I just have to tell you that your filming & editing skills have gotten better & better over the years. You've came along ways Robbie. Congratulations on another season of your TV show & may all your dreams come true that you want to accomplish in 2020. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us, Chris from Missouri
Robbie! So good to see you back on the tube. I bet your tv series is very good and i wish i could view it. But alas I'm stuck here in cold Indiana. Robbie, i hope you had a nice Christmas and a profitable and blessed new year
Thanks for a great vlog! Gorgeous scenery and the reality of some tough locks. So pleased your beloved booked you into t' Spa, she is a keeper 😀 Happy New Year!
Happy and hopefully a prosperous New Year to you Robbie. Your TV canal series was one of the best highlights of 2019 and your vlogs have come on strides, not only since then but from when I started to watch your RU-vid videos. All the best for 2020👍
Hi Robbie, just wanted to let you know I absolutely love your BBC4 series, excellent gentle tv, perfect for a Sunday Evening, or any other evening really. I enjoyed a brief holiday with friends on the Llangollen a few years back, will definitely be doing more someday soon. Keep up the good work. Cheers
Happy New Year Robbie, the Huddersfield canal seems very tricky, glad you survived! Keep up the cranking, I do like your vlogs with warts and all! Best wishes and look after your self.
Great to see your vlogs coming out again Robbie, miss your pubs of the week. Guess you will be busy filming your 2nd BBC series soon, good luck and keep on cranking it❤💙👍👍🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
If the canal boating thing doesn't work out just do Pub of the week, i'd watch the heck out of that. seriously our pubs are dying and good ones remaining need celebrating. great Job
Oh man.. That's our 'home' canal. We've got that to look forward to as total newbies soon. In at the deep end! Cheers for stocking up the loo roll. We'll make the most of it :)
Another great video, hope you have a great New Years Eve and an even better new year. I see you still have your ups and downs, but at least you have someone to talk to about your ups and downs now.
@@RobbieCumming Thanks for the like man but it's New year's, kiss your woman, comments can wait until morning. London New Year's Eve looked amazing, I'm watching New York now and I'm off to bed after I kiss the wife. Happy New year.
Great video. I must try to catch up with Paul’s channel, I seem to have lost sight of it and I used to enjoy his history knowledge. I chuckled when you said your girlfriend had booked you into the Spa, very subtle! 😉🤣 Happy new year. Best wishes for 2020. BTW I loved the Guinness glass. Thanks as always for sharing your journey.
OMG Robbie...the Golden Harp frowns on its inappropriate use. No wonder to me that so-called beer didn't come up to snuff! Anyhoo...thanks for the great video. Happy New Years from this Yank across the A pond. Cheers!
Happy New Year. I think the less traveled canals are more interesting and would be the ones I would try to stick to if I had the opportunity to crank it.
bless ya mate after all the blogs you have done this is the first one you have looked so feed up i bet if they was to offer you a million pound to do it again the answer would be no bless ya keep up great work
We chatted with Paul at the southern end of the Harecastle Tunnel, and he was with Jo and Michael from Minimal List. We thought we saw you go by us in July.
A couple of years ago I visited Huddersfield for a weekend away with my Running Club (described as a thinly disguised Drinking Club) - we were really impressed. We did the 'Rail, Ale Trail' visited some great pubs, did some running (and a Park Run) and walking too. Recommended.
Great vlog really enjoyed it . Completed this canal earlier in the year and totally agree with your frustrations . If your a cyclist or a walker then it's great if your a boater it's awful. A whole hearted two finger salute from the crt to all who worked tirelessly to restore it just to be left to degenerate into today's shambles, the Manchester section is quite simply the worst canal I have ever travelled on , shame on you crt
Hi Robbie i i did it the other way around broad then narrow its dire mate lack of water, paddles knackered, gates not closing a nightmare on for a solo boater called CRT out 4 times on the narrow. I met Paul also the North side of the Stanedge i actually saw you on the south side Trevor brought me through as well.
happy new year robbie! bloody ell! whi you got doin your editing? its bril! well im guessing the editors name was robbie c! 😂🍻 ta for another bril vid!
Happy New Year, Robbie! Looking forward to more super blogs and of course that second TV series! A quick question - which would you say is more difficult - the Huddersfield Narrow, or the Rochdale?
Robbie loved the video. Shocked you had to refill toilet roll at a CRT toilet and that the pump out facility doesn’t work. If I understood it correctly they have no desire to repair it? Madness. Those unit cards need to be brought into the 21st century
The Huddersfield Narrow has been neglected for too long now. The walls of the canal are collapsing and bringing the towpaths with them, and the locks are so leaky that some sections are little more than puddles. Between Uppermill and Standedge Tunnel was unnavigable when I saw it a couple of days ago, just as boats started using it again after winter.
I can recommend a self pump-out kit. Ours has paid for itself many times over and we just pump into an elsan point. Same stuff, but just larger quantity and less frequently.
What a great shame that The Huddersfield Narrow is so underused. Open since 2001, with a very keen Society working vary hard to look after it, why is the water level so low? Your video was wonderful. All the aspects of your films are superb - the actual filming, the editing and the commentary - many congratulations.
Hi Sam! Can you rephrase your question? What do you need to know, amperage? Voltage of the panels? Heaviest applicance I use would probably be my hot water heater, through a 300w inverter.
No worries, I was always tempted to get a boat, and also using solar panels. I was hoping to power a PC for working from home (boat) and recording music. Just wondering if feesable? (I'm not great when it comes to electricity needs, haha)
Hi I have been watching you pretty much since you started RU-vid. You are the best youtuber ever so keep up the good videos .(Can I become part of the crank it crew please ?)
Oh that really depends! Some days I would only cruise for 2hrs and other days it’s more like 10! Have to fit in chores/shopping etc as well so that adds on time. Also i muck around with my camera a lot😂
Snazzy edit sir..whats so tough about the Huddersfield narrow.. lock gear, number of locks , the shallow water, difficulty of mooring... I'm planning to have a go next summer single handed , mostly for nostalgic reasons... Please about the well deserved second series..
It’s all of those things and more! Can’t moor up on landing spaces so you often have to butt the nose right up to the top gates when going down, or do like I did and rope some mates in to help!
Hey Robbie how long before they lovely Wi-fi speaker rolls into the canal, looking forward to your video in 2020 hope they are as good as 2019, all the best
Ashton is where I live. Do you recall which pubs you went in? Used to be the best night out in Greater Manchester at one time, until drug dealers started killing each other in the 1990s. Always plenty of celebrities knocking about.
Can’t remember!! Ha ha - there was an excellent pub that seemed to specialise in cover bands - and I think I popped into the Feathers, funnily enough accompanied by some local drug dealers! I kept my nose clean though of course
Just a suggestion mate... a great place to try for a beer when you’re next stopped in Huddersfield... magic rock brewery tap. Also when you’re in Uppermill, try Albion Tap. Great for craft beers. I’ll be honest, Granby is known as a shit hole around here 😁. You’re welcome!
Great video Robbie. Spent a lot of time in Huddersfield when my daughter was at Uni there. Never ever saw anyone on the Narrow Canal, EVER! We stayed in an apartment near the last lock, still didn’t hear or see anyone passing on the canal. On a separate note, the very, very, VERY start of this Garth Brooks song always reminds me of you... crank it !!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gyjTlxHD8Qc.html Look forward to the next video.
