One of my favorite countries from the DoD DLC, but I would be happy if they reworked all of them a bit. and they would give a manpower increaser to Hungary because it alone does not have one among the DoD countries that could be used.
It should deserve a slight, but proper rework. The advisors are shitty and unhistorical (f.e. the silent workhorse is the first president of the republic after wwII, the fascist demagouge died in 1936 irl and the main characters of that period aren't even present), the focuses are obsolete, unnecessarily long and give you nothing to balance the game (70 days for nothing, but 25 army xp, +0,0000002 nonaligned support or just a claim to a noncorable state). The worst part of the Hungarian tree that there is nothing you can do with the RNG, even if you use your spies to use diplomacy to manipulate the others into a NAP. It should be a challenge to play with minor nations, but in case of Hungary it is just frustrating, while Paradox fixed this challenge with other nations.
They should create new meme formable called Austrialia and make it so that Austria or Australia can create it when they control both of the countries (and also add the kangaroo achievement as you said)

Austria-Hungary is already pretty chaotic, this is even more so. The focus tree for Hungary may be an old one, but it can still be fun if you can handle the hilariously bad start you're given.
Probably the most cursed thing about the New Zealand-Lebanon flag is the fact that it uses a commonwealth star (7 pointed star), which is an Ozzie thing, not a Kiwi one. I reckon swap that out for a southern cross cradled by a couple of ferns. And that's not even mentioning the lack of our national colour, black. Overall, that flag does a great job of being awful, I hope you're proud of yourself.
Obscure little tip but you can get the Czechs to be annexed by you pretty easily if you wait for demand Sudetenland to be started and get 10 days ahead of Germany’s focus. Usually, they’ll submit to full annexation and all you’ll have to do is just wait. This was the case a few patches ago anyway, so maybe Paradox altered it but as far as I know it basically works all the time.
Idk if someone else mentioned it but Brazil got involved in the war due to something in their focus tree where when they reach that point they'll declare war on whatever enemy the US is fighting, which in turn triggers the guarantees from Germany and Italy. It's a pretty wonky mechanic, because it basically counts as a declaration ON any enemies the US is fighting, rather than simply joining the war on the US's side On historical it doesn't really do much since by the time they reach that point in their focus tree the US should already be in the allies if they aren't already dead, but on ahistorical, things tend to get... Messy

Little hint: if you have a collab gov, you can see germanys focuses...skip one and start 10 days early on the annex checkoslovakia focus so you finish that before germany finishes the sudetenland while it is running and you have a guaranteed yes..dont click your event until 1hr after germanys focus finishes, then click it as germany has just sent its request...and voila, you annex it without risking anything
I have played AUSHUN numerous times but never made it across the English channel before 1943, as I either was stuck in Romania or there was no air supremacy at all on that damn channel.
It’s been a while since I played Austria Hungry, but it’s one of my favorite nations as well, and the weird thing I found was that if you flipped fascist after annexing Austria; Czechoslovakia would always accept the annexation. It also comes with the extra bonus of Germany wanting you in their faction, which makes them not declare war on you for rejecting Sudetenland. That may have changed with all the updates the game has seen, but I’m curious now if the strat still works.
I think a rework of DoD, if added, should have some balance of power additions in Hungary, the tense standoff between the Iron Cross (Fascists) and the Regency Faction (Led by the PM) was an important factor in Hungarian membership in the axis, it could also be used in Romania with the Iron Guard.
you made an agency, you could've spied on germany to see when they select the sudetenland focus and when they do you can do the czechoslovakia focus and finish before them sooooo you get a decision to annex them and at the same time germany's focus is done which lets you annex them while the ai is processing if they want to give sudetenland or not and if you do it will cancel germany's request and you get the sudetenland and germany's further focuses get cancelled on annexing czechia
15:45 Instead of fighting Vichy France you could've returned french territory to your french puppet. Because whenever the original France controls Paris they send a demand to Vichy to get annexed which it will always agree to.
They need to take the bloody RNG out of at least the first half of the Habsburg Hungary path when it's not Multiplayer. The grindy pseudo-world conquest wars are nothing compared to repeatedly having to replay 36-38 because of the seeded RNG on Austria and Czechoslovakia.
Dude... I'm pretty sure someone found a way to disable RNG for Austria-Hungary months ago. And AFAIK it still works in ToA. At least, nothing in the ToA patch notes indicates that this was removed. So basically you need to get intel on Germany to the point where you can see their focus progress Then you stop taking focuses some time in 1938 (to get yourself a 10 day head start on the next focus you complete) And then keep an eye on Germany's focus progress, because the second Germany starts Demand Sudetenland, you need to start Protect Czechoslovakia. But you'll finish your focus 10 days before Germany, and Czechoslovakia guaranteed to agree to annexation. And it gets better. Since Germany already started the event against Czechoslovakia, and Czecholsovakia doesn't exist anymore, the focus counts as complete, and you don't get the demand.
@@craniusdominus8234 I'm aware of this, and it's not disabling the RNG, it's making the odds as good as possible. Not to mention needing a workaround this specific is still annoyingly finicky when you're just trying to do a normal Habsburg start.
i dont know if you did this already, but will you do a Template guide or anything like that? I really try to get back into the game but i really cant get good units out, either too expensive, or too weak
@chaoticflorius if you want to min max the odds and save alot of pain trying to form Austro Hungarian Empire theres some shenanigans you can do. If you rejoin railroads and max relations you have 95% chance of austria agreeing to referendum. For the czechs if you set up a spy network in germany and get intel high enough to see their current focus you can choose to not take a focus for 70 days so youre 10 days ahead of germany. Once they do sudetenland focus you start protectect the czechs and get best odds that way. Hold the event until the hour germanys focus completes and says no focus, hit accept then germany never gets their war goal :)
You can actually start fabricating wargoals at only 10% world tension because for some reason, -40% world tension limit for wargoals because you're a habsburg

@@chaoticflorius I made a save file for the one and only time the rng worked out and gave me everything from rng and it still took like 5 more runs to successfully get the achievement
I love to create Austria hungary with Tschechoslovakia. It is more fun in my opinion. Having such a pressure to create it before the Germans are knocking.
