The courier, who was high on every drug imaginable, changed the wasteland forever. Succumbing to the very troubles that plagued it before. Another psychopath born and dead in the wasteland. Cause junkies, junkies never change.
In many ways, this is worse than the legion ending somehow. Yes the legion is brutal, but the one thing you can say is they bring absolute order. This is a complete lack of order: worst ending possible probably. The only thing its missing is the tunnelers invading the Mojave and the Cloud taking over the strip and freeside. Any characters trying to do anything for the world are dead, with a brain drain like that, what hope do commoners stand against the elements? The society essentially reverted to Fallout 1 society, more than 100 years before New Vegas.
yep - most would think that the legion is the worst outcome for the mojave, but if you pit all the tribes and factions against each other for the independent ending you will leave the wasteland a significantly worse place than how you found it. no one gets a happy ending, you turn the mojave wasteland into a free-for-all cesspit of chaos
There's an intense energy to a Courier, who, after actively turning the Mojave into biggest burning trashheap in human history, marches up to Lanius and calls him a shithead before slicing him to pieces anime-style with a katana. I'm not sure what *kind* of energy, mind, but it's definitely there.
Nah, in fact, when you blow up the place, Yes Man is like "You... Blew them up? Well that's... Surprising. Cause like isn't that the whole point of this? I *really admire* how you stack the deck against yourself" or something like that, through clearly clenched robotic teeth. LIke, you can *hear* in his voice he wants to just murderize you on the spot. It's great.
