I went camping at Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford, NH! This has been on my bucket list for a while now because I've spent a lot of time at Gunstock skiing and hiking, but never camped there! In this video, I show a little bit of what we got up to at the campsite, I share a hike I did up Mt. Rowe, and I go over all my favorite car camping gear! This is a fun one :)

The Exped Megamat Duo is AMAZING!! My wife and I were backpackers who have adapted to car camping now that we have kids and the Exped pad was one of the first things we bought. I said that if I was waking up in the middle of the night while car camping it was NOT going to be because I was uncomfortable. It may be more comfortable than our mattress at home. You won't regret buying one at all (though your wallet might).

Great episode but shy friends? Gunstock Ski Parol decades ago sled me off the mountain after hitting backwards into a very large pine tree. It stopped me from being paralyzed. Recovered well months later. 75 and still upright. Yahoooooo.

I’ve begun enjoying car camping and I found the best thing to bring is a friend that knows how to use a cast iron pan and briquettes to make things like orange oatmeal coffee cake, spare ribs with barbecue sauce, chicken Parmesan. She’s a gem as are the rest of my camping friends. Thanks Taylor for another interesting video.

Fun!! What a nice surprise - loved seeing this. Just last week I bought my first car camping gear. What a difference when you're not worried about weight! Chose that exact same EXPED and Nemo tent but as a 4p.

Love my old Coleman camp stove. It's the old version that you use Coleman fuel and have to pump up. It must be 60 years old and still cooks just fine.

Loved the video and how you mixed the classics with the fluffies, like the lights and portable fire pit. I love that you prioritized spending time with friends and did a recap on gear afterwards. You could do another video on what you cook.

For those considering a MegaMat, I'd recommend a Klymit Klymaloft Double Sleeping pad instead. It uses foam and air and it is way more comfortable than the Exped in my opinion. You can buy the Klymaloft double for the same price as 1 of the MegaMat Duos.

Excellent change of pace! Glad you took time to enjoy the trip with friends and are cool enough to know when not to vlog lol! Definitely agree a 6-person tent is key if standing up in it is a desirable. We ended up getting a great deal on a returned "Base camp 6" (PO claimed it had a snag in the mosquito netting but we couldn't find it!). We've owned a large ExPed for a few years now. It fits the bed of the pickup perfect and is so comfortable. Absolutely love it but it's auto inflation abilities don't quite cut it (even storing it inflated as they recommend.) On final note along those lines - Several companies, including Exped, make small USB air pump/battery/lights. They weigh about 3oz and I highly recommend them - even (or maybe especially) for hiking with a pad. Car camping I really like to use hippie sheets and, in winter, heavy wool blankets. It just feels so cozy.

I’m in Ontario and Canoe camp. It allows me to carry heavier loads and luxuries like a chair, cooler, and 4 person tent ( for myself) into the deep backcountry for week long trips. I usually never see another person the whole time but still spot lots of wildlife. I can fit everything but the cooler into two waterproof duffle bags.

Taylor I came in last weekend and got two tie-dye shirts for my girlfriend and her daughter they love them. I was the guy going to the Chris Stapleton concert. Gunstock mountain is amazing I love it there you have to try the zipline

We don't even use sleeping bags with our Expeds, just fitted sheets, sheets and blankets. This changes camping. ( especially in seawall campground, Acadia, for one, where they insist on designating the camping areas with large gravel) * I take my Exped with me to rentals almost 100% of the time and at least 90% of the time sleep on the floor because it beats the beds

Ok so the way I see it that is about2,350.00 for camping. Now in my opinion which may be wrong but that is insane! For that you can go n a pretty nice getaway for a few days Or just grab a blanket or two and just sleep in the suv which Would do just fine for a night or two. Like I said just my opinion spending money like that is crazy. Oh yea forgot why not just buy a camper.

If you live in New Hampshire it’s a must to car camp. You can camp every weekend all summer long and be somewhere new every trip.

Id give you my list but it to long, no water no problem with properly mark new 5 gallon water container (way cheaper then buying 5 5 gallon blue water jugs) about 30 gallons, two lanterns one propane the other mulitgas, large metal bucket for heating water over the fire, three coolers. there is more but i don't bring the kitchen sink nor a noisy smelly generator
