Luego tomé mis acuarelas y en un momento, tenía uno de mis mejores retratos. He estado tratando de volverlo a hacer y no he encontrado la forma. Total. Me pasó varias veces que tenía una idea muy vaga de lo que quería pero aun así me sentía ansiosa por hacerlo y en la mayor parte del proceso terminaba improvisando y dejándome llevar por lo que a mí me pareciese correcto en el momento, y resultaron siendo de mis trabajos favoritos. En cambio, hubo ocasiones en las que planee tanto una ilustración que al final terminaba perdiendo la esencia de la idea original que tenía en la mente por la presión de querer hacerlo exacto a como lo visualizaba. Los momentos en lo que más me divertí y me sentí orgullosa pintando, fueron en los que menos esperaba resultados. Es como cuando haces una obra maestra en una hoja de práctica
Me pasó igual.. un día tome una foto de una amiga y lo pinte con varios colores que tenía por terminar y me salió un retrato hermoso con muchos tonos verdes y azules.. hasta el día de hoy no he podido replicar ni la técnica ni el resultado 😂

Un instructor me dijo que es la maldición del artista. El nunca estar satisfecho con lo que se pinta. Mata muchas carreras la falta de confianza en la propia voz. Cuando se comienza sobre todo, quiénes pasan esa etapa amateur son sobrevivientes

I'm sure they'll missed something. Is hard to explain but I'm sure they did that painting that way because they use that low quality brush. Is just my opinion.
Am sure they'll make new masterpieces! It's not the materials is the concept, the idea and the time, we have thousands of new alloys, chemical compounds plastics, vinyls etc, yet we can't even replicate an old masterpiece, what can the new masters do with old material try making your own pigments lapizlazul, magenta, anybody can paint nowadays, that's why there's no respect for art anymore, no time to admire nature, our best quality is our imagination! We hardly use it.
This is so true. My hand has a way of wielding the brush that does not or cannot copy exactly how the teacher is painting. Also my eyes tell me the color and tone that I like or that “feels” right to me and I follow that. At the end of the day, if your painting feels right to you, that’s it. You are a unique being there’s absolutely no point turning yourself into a clone of another person. Art is supposed to bring out the real, special and unique you.
I agree with what you said. But I will say.. that I believe any issues with being able to move and control a brush in certain ways ...tends to be due to fine "surgical level" of muscle control, and specifically developed strength. (Highly Developed Coordination) One of my friends is an Airbrush artist. After watching him for some time.. I stated that it looked easy. He chuckled, and asked me to try. I could barely make a straight line accurately. He then showed me some of his practice sheets, and had me try. You would make the same brush strokes over and over again.. hundreds to thousands of times... until you could duplicate the complex curves / shapes / lettering...etc.. accurately.. uniformly sized, and with the same brush widths.. every time. It was definitely not easy! heh With typical Oil paintings, I do not think its that big of a deal. But for something like Fine-Liner Freehand Detailing (sign painting / car detailing), Calligraphy, Asian Calligraphy, or Traditional Asian watercolor methods... the stroke direction, speeds, pressure, and vector control.. all have to be at an incredible level of repeatable precision accuracy.

El aprendizaje del arte es una disciplina, a veces tediosa que hay que seguir paso a paso, una vez dominas la técnica el estilo vendrá sólo, es tu alma la que siente la vida, son tus ojos los que ven y son tus manos las que pintan.
Yo pienso q no tiene por qué ser tedioso y también pienso q no es necesariamente el aprendizaje de la técnica primero porq esto puede limitar más bien serían ambas cosas a la par

No soy pintor, solo un intruso de los recomendados de RU-vid, pero se me hace chistoso que en todas las áreas del arte pase lo mismo. Mismo pigmento, diferentes pinturas. Mismas palabras, diferentes redacciones. Mismas notas, diferentes canciones. Es muy lindo.

same here, i was struggling with a drawing of a character from a story. I wanted the drawing to look EXACTLY like the one the original artist did, but no matter how many times i tried to make it look similar, there would always be differences in my own piece and her’s. Also, i think it’s really cool you’re giving art a try, there’s no such thing as “too old” to give art a shot :)
100% love this!!! I preach this whenever an artist claims they are competing with other artists. NO, you're not. Its not possible because your art is unique because you are the creator! No one sees thru your eyes with your experiences and beliefs and wishes and dreams. How we see our world is influenced by everything that makes us individuals. And this individuality is reflected in our artwork. That's what makes art valuable!
En realidad copiar no es imposible, lo único que tenemos que mirar con sus ojos, porque nosotros pintamos con nuestro ojos como nosotros lo vemos, la gente ve los colores de diferente manera, yo me di cuenta de eso hace años cuando fui a clase de pintar, mi profesora pintaba con colores muy apagados, y yo pinto con colores vivos vibrantes, y ella me decía que no, que no era así, y yo la decía es que yo lo veo así. Por supuesto no hay que desesperarse, pinta como tú lo ves, son tus ojos tu experiencia. Muy interesante tu vídeo.
Es infinitamente imposible tener la misma pincelada de otro artista, tal vez técnicamente podemos hacer una aproximación excelente pero hay otros factores como el momento histórico, la perspectiva que de la belleza o vida tiene cada quien, el mood por el que quien ejecuta la pieza paso o esté pasando y una infinidad de factores tan personales. Cuando elegí dedicarme al arte de manera profesional me dio vértigo pensar que no podremos imitarnos jamás y esa es la gracia de la pintura: somos únicos . I always see new artists wondering how to develop their own art style but you're literally born with it and the style grows with you. It's your eyes and how you see and the instinctive decisions you make that make your art have its own style. Just give it time and allow your artwork to breathe. You'll start to notice trends between your works come naturally- that is your art style!
Preciosa reflexión, lo mismo nos ocurre a los artistas marciales, por más que exista la técnica, la estandarización del proceso de aprendizaje o grabaciones de viejos maestros, resulta demasiado contextual alcanzar el nivel de alguien, así que en los Dojos más tradicionales mencionan que, aunque tengamos alguna aspiración o historia de motivación, siempre buscaramos la perfección de lo que NOSOTROS hacíamos. Muy interesante, se puede analizar en muchísimas disciplinas.
Una profesora de pintura que tuve solía decir "si quiero que la pintura me quede 100% igual a la que hizo el artista, le tomo una foto" y es tal cual, lo mejor es incluir nuestra esencia en lo que hacemos, incluso cuando copiamos alguna obra.

Yo soy una niña de doce años, siempre me atrajo el arte y las pinturas. Una vez vi un hermoso cuadro (la noche estrellada de Van Gogh) y quise intentarlo. Creía que necesitaba materiales específicos y pinturas especiales, y me deprimí un poco ya que no podía comprarlos. Al día siguiente encontré unas pinturas pequeñas y una hoja blanca, y comencé a pintarlo. El resultado fue genial, creo que estoy bastante orgullosa del cuadro. Este vídeo me inspiró a seguir pintando para poder llegar a ser una buena artista y seguir disfrutando de la belleza del arte :))))
Perfeita sua abordagem professor César. Fiz um trabalho na Universidade aqui no Brasil, sobre Giovanni Morelli, celebre conhecedor italiano de arte que havia criado um método identificador de falsificações. Classificou as formas das mãos,orelhas,narizes as partes que são mais repetidas e que tendem a ser desprezadas na pintura. Ele descobriu que cada um pinta alguns detalhes de forma diferente. Então não podemos imitar igual alguém. Acho que nem a natureza faz isso. Obrigado professor.

Let's change to another artform: Even wearing Michael Jackson's original dancing shoes will not make you dance a good/better moonwalk. And even if you did, you'd still be copying and the world is not waiting for another moonwalk. Conclusion: Materials have nothing to do with it.
This example doesn't work Special shoes or higher quality ones (like the ones he used) can help getting a better execution of a dance move specially moves that require sliding (just like the moon walk). Also, you may not be able to paint like someone else because all the variables involved, but you can copy someone's moves; it may not be an easy task, but is certainly easier than painting like someone else. Writing could be a better example, but I'm not getting into that. And about that conclusion... that's not right, materials do matter and alot, but that is not the point of the video. He is saying that you shouldn't limit how you paint based on what others use. Use what you have, what you like to use or experiment, and dont fixate on other's way of painting. English is not my native language so, I apolgise for any spelling or grammatical error.

@@vida9960 Ok. we agree on that. But what i was trying to say was that on a technical level they matter; knowing your instruments and when to use them, is what makes them good and not who used them. So many people diminish the importance of these and cant progress, the same way people dont progress because they give'em too much value, and i think is necesary to make it clear. In the end I think what really matters is what you want to paint and finding the way to paint it or getting as close as possible (perfectionism has the power to create amazing things but also has the power to limit and corrupt.). Your material may help you find the way but it is not the way itself, not havig those materials shouldn't be a problem because there is alway another way to make it. I wanted to say something else and i forgot it while i was writing, but i think i cleared my point. By the way copyin isn't something bad as long as you're only looking for experience and inspiration and not to perfectly recreat it (unless you're an impersonator, but thats a story for another day).

One of the best painters I ever met was a Biker looking truck driver.Yes this guy looked like a hells angel's but man he could paint with the oils.He told me about the problems he had trying to sell his painting.He said no one would give him the time of day.Also the great lesson in this is don't be afraid to be you no matter what paint the way you want to paint,and remember to darken the darks with color and lighten the lights with color.that was a great peach
Sometimes i feel so weak,sad and frustrated when I'm painting...there are moments when i want to cry just cause of my weakness,when painting goes(wrong?) other way as i want. It's fight ,my inner fight,but i don'wanna lose.Frustration if I'm good even just a little bit...then I'll keep my brushes away for today....and I'm waiting for the punchline.but i know next day will be better! He is absolutely right! Even how good we paint or not when we copy other’s work of art each one of us are unique! This is like a Signature... if you are a keen observer and you know the works of a famous artist or painter, you will recognize his own work by just looking at it... bec an artist always associate his works with his/her surroundings, environments, loved ones, etc...it is like fingerprints... no one is alike 100%...You can never copy other’s works... you have your own “signature”...

7:16 llamenme loca pero me parece muy interesante visualmente como quedó la tablita donde prueba y mezcla los colores como una pintura abstracta, me la quedé viendo un buen rato 😂
hay algo fresco en el trabajo de tu alumna, tiene muy pocos trazados ya que deja ver el azul por debajo. es mucho menos trabajado justo por eso, y los trazos a pesar de ser escazos, dejan mucha estructura implícita mediante solamente su dirección. también hay mas juego en su pintura en cuanto a colores fríos y cálidos y como juegan entre sí. a pesar de que tu pintura es mucho mas realizada e incluso mejor estructurada, no tienen las mismas cualidades y no se pueden comparar. incluso la elección del tono más amarillo implica frescura de la fruta, y el rojo mas apasionado que le diste da un sentimiento mas romántico, por así decirlo. nisiquiera las dos pinturas se parecen tanto, yo diría que hasta en la composición son diferentes, el fondo más claro y azul de ella y el tuyo mas oscuro y gris, son ambientes luminosos que influyen en el sujeto de formas distintas. podría decirse que la exposición es diferente, si hablaramos de fotografía.

Thank you for your unique perspective on style. I hadn't ever heard someone talk like this yet. In the art community, the commercial art community to be specific, people chase style and cry out constantly asking how to either develop their own or copy someone else's whether anime, disney, etc.. for industry purposes. I don't do a lot of fine art but I'm hoping that as I journey more into fine art that it will lift up my commercial style art up or my art style in general. While I enjoy many other people's art styles and envy and wish to have their styles I've never really made too much of an attempt to copy, dissect, or learn from them. I think mainly out of this deep intuition to just be myself and perhaps partial laziness. Lol I think often to myself I feel like I have no style or voice, yet, as I surf deviantART or other places, I have yet to see someone like me. So I feel content in being me, whether I cartoon, do realism, or whatever. **Thank you modern society for translation! Or I wouldn't be able to read or watch things in other languages! Great video! My painting teacher had an anecdote about a student who was doing a copy of a van gogh for the master copy assignment: They worked very carefully to match brush strokes, proportions, and layering as much as possible, but in the end it it looked very regular and mechanical. He told them to do another without drawing and without looking at the original photo and this time it turned out "feeling" much more like van gogh. Question: With these things in mind, what main value do you think a master copy has for students or even a mature artist?
I'm not Sr. Cordòva however I do have an answer to your question as I have done this very exercise, a Master Study. The image was a panel from Kentaro Miura's Berserk, the artist obviously being Miura-sensei. Reason being to get a feeling, and thus an understanding, of the mindset, of such a meticulous artist. How it feels to compose a figure, ink similar lines, as close as possible evoke the feeling he was trying to conjure in the reader when he first drew it. I drew the image again, without the manga reference, going off of how the image felt and how it made me feel. It went faster, and strangely felt closer to Miura's original panel, than my study. What was learned is that Miura is a very thoughtful, and evocative, artist storyteller. The attention to the details of posing (how hands are placed) weather effects, are all considered, and accounted for, in depicting the mood. These sensibilities are very similar to mine own, but done differently. It also was a reminder that duplication will not get me the quality artists like Miura achieved, but by trusting my own abilities, working hard and having fun, is the better path. Muy buen video, incluso creo que si uno hace un dibujo un día e intenta hacerlo igual otro día no va a quedar exactamente igual, muchas cosas influyen, el entorno, el estado de ánimo, y quizás hasta lo que comiste jeje.
No creo que muchas personas vean este comentario. Pero, hoy a la tarde, como a las tres pm, vi este video, preste mucha atención a cada detalle y cosa que hacia. La forma en la que mueve su mano, como agarra el pincel, la forma en la que da las pinceladas. Es muy diferente a mi, no soy dibujante, artista amateur ni profesional, pero me inspiro tanto. Sentí, que aunque tenga los materiales que tenga, podria hacerlo si lo uso de la forma correcta. Mi técnica de pintura es muy diferente. Hago manchas, voy tapando con otros colores, iluminó con amarillo, la mayoria de veces no uso imagenes de referencia, y me dejo llevar. Hoy, pinte una manzana, que el resultado, no fue el mejor, por las pinturas, que estaban secas, y no tenian mucho, y aparte mi pincel era muy grande, y el otro rijido. Pero, aun asi, quede conforme, conmigo misma. Porque estoy avanzando como artista, Aunque no me considere una, voy aprendiendo de a poco. Y crear obras asi, me enorgullece, porque pienso, si yo tuviera los mejores pinceles, y pinturas de óleo, y cosas de alta calidad. Me saldría lo que hago en una hoja nunero 5, de una fotocopia escolar vieja, pinturas marca chirinvolo, y un pincel que compre en la escuela?, y creo que no, no sabria como usarlo, no sabria manejarlo, no tendria en mente, lo que realmente quiero. Y si me saliera mal, me deprimiria, porque sentiria que gaste óleo al coete, y, con pinturas viejas, con un pincel x, hojas de papel chafas, y imaginacion, inspiración. Pude hacer algo que nunca imagine, puede crear algo mas que monas chinas, que me ayudó mucho a la hora de las proporciones, y rostros. Saber que todo empezó con pintura acrilica, una mancha roja, fui poniendole amarillo, mezcle los colores, hice naranja, hice color durazno, Rosa, agarre verde, negro, hice marron, y sentí algo. Senti emoción, de avanzar, en algo que la verdad, me gustaria dedicarme a fondo. Me gustatia tener lo que otros artistas, y sus capacidades. Pero no me comparo, mi estilo es mio, unico. Porque lo hago yo, empecé a verlo, con una forma, con color, como una manzana, como la manzana que imaginaba. No imaginaba que iva a quedar "bien" pero, cuando me motive, y segui en el camino, de hacerla. Creyendo en el procesó, me enamoré. Mas de lo que ya estaba. Amo la pintura, amo dibujar, amo el arte, amo, ver, y observar todo a fondo. Asi que, cuando vi los detalles verdes, los detalles, con negro, en el centro, para marcar la profundidad. El rojo, opaco, y una amarillo difuminado, con blanco, naranja y rosa. Me sentí bien, pintando el fondo, los detalles, las luces, que soy bastante mala en eso todavia, pero, me emocionó. Y me gusto el resultado.
