Regular screenlinks are cool, but what if we took them to the next level? ‪@joelsinventions‬ and I teamed up to create the most complex screenlink ever, with a giant interconnected path, crazy transitions, and insane chain reaction tricks!

As you can imagine, creating this video took a ton of careful planning and collaborating. Joel and I did many video calls to sort out how we would make this screenlink work. We had to decide on the path for the screenlink, which transitions to use where, and how to split up our clips into 2-3 segments.
While building the clips for this video, my main goal was to make everything as insane as possible. Instead of showcasing each idea in a simple and understandable way (which is the goal for Dominoes vs. Machines), I wanted to take every trick I made to the next level. And I think I was able to do that.

HOLY CRAP THIS IS MADNESS. I knew that there would be a day where two of my favorite builders would make a video together and that my mind would be blown. I mean, WOW. I hate to break it to you guys, but I don't know if me or Gabe could feature any of these tricks in Spicing it up Part 2 because you guys made dang sure to not waste a single use of the components of these tricks. And I have to say that the concept of this video is so smart and so well thought and planned as well. My favorite trick from Joel is the however-many-use pin board trick. Changing the path that the marble takes is INGENIOUS. My favorite trick from Lyle is the moving and rotating arm. The way the arm puts two different balls in two different places left me in shock, and then it had time to use itself as a TRACK. Like, how do you come up with this stuff? Now I gotta crank up the intensity on my in-progress screenlink because it's not going to look NEARLY as good as this. Really nice job, guys. This defines what a chain reaction is, and I will be shocked if in the near future that this isn't one of the first results that pops up if you were to type "chain reaction machine" in the RU-vid search box.

That idea of an arm connected to a gear that was powered by a moving car was actually an idea that Joel came up with. He told me about it at ISM, and (I think) he was actually going to make it himself, but he couldn't get the gear mechanism to work in time. So, since he doesn't have any K'nex gears at home, he told me I could use the idea for this collab. And I think it came out pretty well. The secondary use of putting a track on the other side was not something I thought of doing until I actually created the model and realized the potential for that. And yeah, I guess we can only hope that this video would come up in RU-vid's search. Although I can't complain about the results that come up currently. :D

This one is great! I'm 66 years old, recently retired, grew up in a hobby shop in NY state and grew up building RGMs & dominoes and just got back into both. Very inventive stuff.

Thanks so much! I've been building chain reactions for almost 3 years now, and I must say, it's a very exciting and interesting hobby! There's a really great community of builders online who all support each other, so it was also a great way for me to make friends.

Oh my goodness how does this have less than 100 views? This is one of the best videos I have seen on RU-vid. It needs at least 500000 views for the effort that must have been put into it and the truly epic product.

WHAT Okay, this is one of those Screenlinks were EVERY CLIP WAS JUST AMAZING! Like the Rhett and Link machine and 11 Inventions, words can not express how incredibly amazing this is! I loved every track trick! Joel got me hyped for this a while ago, and I knew that it would be amazing but nothing on this level! This made my day! AMAZING job guys. I really need to kick SIU2 up a notch, lol.

Well, I've been fairly inactive in the comment section, partly due to the fact that I was fed up with RU-vid not letting me see comments, and that I was consumed with building a haunted house for Halloween, but alas, I have returned. This was freaking incredible!!! When I started watching and realized the whole video was gonna be done in a fashion where it did part of a trick, then a new clip, then returned to the half-finished trick, I was a little skeptical on how I would enjoy the constant changes and remembering what left off where. But I have to say, you guys pulled this off incredibly! Lyle, the swinging track trick at 1:53 and the gear-car autolift were both amazing! Joel, the tilting board trick was so complex, and the pop-up laundry hamper was sick, too! I can't believe the amount of complex tricks you guys were able to build. One of the best screenlinks I've seen!
@jackofallspades98
@jackofallspades98 7 лет назад
Thanks so much! One of my main concerns about this video was that people would have trouble remembering where each clip left off, but it sounds like you were able to keep track of things pretty well. I have gotten mixed feedback about that, so it's good to hear that someone was able to enjoy it to it's fullest potential.

If you want to watch each of the clips individually, with no cuts, watch this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ukqM-FdZoJU.html This also makes it a lot easier to understand the details of each trick separately from everything else.

Wow, my, goodness. I love it. There are so many rotating pieces in my life, my 4 favorite parts are 2:06, 2:48, 3:04, and 5:26. Honestly the tracks are rotating by the knex pieces, and they go in the same speed. And means the ball moves from these tracks. I love your channel, I have to check out other machines created by other channels than yours. I really love it.

Yes definitely check out some other builders as well! I highly recommend TheInvention11 (whom this video is a collaboration with) and cwdreactions. My next video is actually a machine that TheInvention11 and I made together while he was at my house for a week!

jackofallspades98 Oh. What? Also I tried making a machine like yours, a.k.a. the Pythagora Switch, it didn't work out for some reason, the tracks I made are Jenga, and for dominoes. I have a very small marble which I can't find, and the black medium marble, I also can't find. Tell me where you buy those tracks from.

These guys are fired in the youtube. They know that how to play with tracks,balls,dominoes,string, kinex and other foreign objects not just rolling the ball on the track but how to use it miltiple times and all the ways to use it. JUST TALK ABOUT THE TRICKS OF JOAS98. Firstly nice start with logo and awsome work with motors. You are the awsome inventer of kinex model. You know all the mechanism of the kinex motor. I like the track changer kinex motor trick. I like the kinex car trick with forward and reverse process with kinex over the top at your cart. You do all the posibility of how to fix track with kinex and how to use it. All the tricks were cooler but the video was not cooler(due to music or slow speed of tricks i don't know). Every and every tricks were original and new. I don't know that how you manage screenlink video and also the project with flashdomino in less time,hats off to you for this performance. You take the same concept as done by the teddytron2000 and the singablot g in ccc contest. This screenlink makes me confusion that what clip came first and how much time this machine comes in number of times. But you nailed with theinvention11 and hope that you again fired with flashdomino.

Awww thanks so much! I'm so glad you loved all the tricks in this video, especially the K'nex-related ones. If you're confused about the number of uses for each clip, there's a link in the description, and in the comments to a video that shows each clip of the screenlink individually.

Shut. Up. This screenlink definitely lived up to its name! Lyle, 60fps looks really good :D So many different vehicles and mobile objects in your tricks! And Joel, that pinscreen trick was my favorite xD I know lots of people think this is a groundbreaking video but from my perspective, both of you have already made so many videos just like this. So maybe you're just groundbreaking builders ;)
@jackofallspades98
@jackofallspades98 7 лет назад
Flash Domino Yeah! I'm glad someone noticed the 60fps! I actually kind of agree with the statement that this video isn't really groundbreaking. I definitely think it's the best screenlink of all time, but based on what people have seen before, I don't think people expected anything less. 😊
