How many have listened to Dugin Interviews? I have and I find he has wisdom and compassion. His view is a world of the people living in peace with each other exchanging values and culture differences.
Dugin wrote a 1997 essay in which he described Soviet-era serial killer Andrei Chikatilo as a mystic and "a practitioner of Dionysian “sacraments" in which the killer/torturer and the victim transcend their "metaphysical dualism" and become one".(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aleksandr_Dugin)
As a retired political philosophy professor, I see this as a critical video, and if I were still teaching, it would be required. As de Tocqueville observed in 1835, Amerikans are not philosophers, and it should not be expected that they could understand anything sophisticated like Dugan. Hell, 50% of adults can't even read past the eighth grade!
@@davidrandell2224 Actually, it ended with the unity of opposites as the most fundamental law, Heraclitus giving the Western edition. The rest has been noise.
Imo, there is nothing dangerous about Dugin and his works. He is just a modern traditionalist. The actual problem is that the globalists and the liberals have deviated to such an extreme of political spectrum that almost any traditionalist has became a fascist for them. The good thing about Dugin is that he is very mature and profound thinker. He provokes thinking in the others, which is actually good, but he also insists that he has not a complete philosophical system of his own, he is very open about future developments.
He’s dangerous because he’s basically Putin’s puppet and imitates philosophy for the sake of state propaganda. He was, though, in all fairness, a rather cool lecturer for some time - in mid 2000a I guess.
In western media Dugin is not the same as he manifests himself in Russia. His anti-liberal model implies something similar to imperial russia and mussolini's italy. He literally wants to return estate-based society, he praises radical social inequality and sanctity of those in power. He may sound wise and mature at first time but i'm afraid he is insane man that romanticize everything that belongs to ancientry (by the way, In his youth he's been a member of occult fascist marginal group). Also he supports russian nationalist philosopher Ivan Ilyin who had been an admirer of hitler and mussolini back in 30's of XX century.
Modernity is part of the globalists, therefore he cannot be modern traditionalist. There are other decolonial philosophers that philosophy from other edges that are not eurocentric or anthropocentric.
Dr. Millerman is the most understandable philosopher I've ever heard, his explanations are so concise and friendly to the layman but also pretty accurate.

Beautiful conversation! Many muslim families have been talking about liberalism and spirituality, western Individualism and the eastern communal societies. Michael articulated it impeccably! Even though he is born and educated in the West, it is impressive he is so perceptive to Liberal bigotry.
Fascism, national socialism and Marxism-Leninism all failed to defeat liberalism in the 20th century so now within the west there's absolutely no resistance whatsoever. Defeating liberalism will have to be a global effort against the west
@@zyyl1949 maybe because those ideologies were just similar in their attempt to rule the masses for monetary or political gains. Humans need an anchorage to be able to navigate life. As they removed religion as an anchor, they replaced it with human dogmas and each of them failed miserably. Liberalism is defeated if you look at the socioeconomic disintegration.
"Eastern" authoritarianism, tribalism, clan oriented bigotry? The "west" isn't overly intrusive in regards to other society's, as long as they aren't causing external problems or abusing a large segment of their own people. The obnoxious/arrogant segment that seeks ideological conformity is smaller in the West, but some neo-liberal "progressive" forms are disproportionately influential.

Just for your information Dugin characterized modern russian islamic philosopher Geydar Dzhemal(Jamal) as his teacher, they were close friends in early years and were in good relations afaik until Dzhemal passed away in 2016, even they had serious differences in views. However followers of Dzhemal doesn't consider Dugin as friendly to Islam. And if you compare works of Dugin and Dzhemal, Dzhemal has a more deeper and more structured thinking, Dzhemal's works are a very serious contribution to the modern islamic thought.

I can't express how grateful how I am for this video, brother Paul. I'm only 24:00 minutes into this discussion and I already feel so enlightened! It's nothing like that. It's just the lobbyists in the west who are against any nation that's powerful enough to challenge them. So their enemies are Russia, China and soon India. They have already got Europe, mainly Germany, decapitated by blowing up the gas pipelines. They just want the competition to be out. It has nothing to do with these books, philosophies and what not. But good distraction for everyone to think there's more to these wars than just wars. It's like telling the world why the West is attacking Arabs but not telling them it's all about Oil which it is.
This was such an excellent interview. I really want to thank Michael Millerman for introducing me to Alexander Dugin. I've listened fully to several of Putin's speeches, but now I have a much more in depth understanding of the thought behind the words. I also want to congratulate Michael on his dedication to understanding Dugin and relaying what he has studied with such unbiased consideration for the ideas expressed. With all the passion around the conflict in Ukraine, it was truly refreshing to hear a clear and measured stance rather than seeing one side or the other as evil. Bravo!
Just stretch it a bit to accept the fact that Russians are fighting what they perceive as the embodiment of nominalism aka the Whore of Babylon. That just happens to be the West that colonized Ukraine. To them, it's their Holy War.

Dugin (and Millermans introduction to him) has given me hope.. they revived my hope for an intellectual renewal .. not doomed to the terminal nihilism of Fouquet
Very interesting from Millerman. An intelligent reading of Dugin's argument. The great awakening is a great book, Dugin's argument is solid, largely more convincing than neo-liberal trend today.
I personally oppose the neo-liberal approach but Dugin's approach is nothing but fascism (or Russian style Nazism). I wouldn't like to chose between the two. I would like to repair the western system and bring it back to the system based on Reason and Common sense. Dugin is a dark soul, a mix of a Nazi and a Bolshevik. His type of people will not hesitate to murder tens of millions of people to realise their utopian totalitarian dreams.
This programme highlighted importance of Dugin's work. Multi-polar world is indeed the most important development of 21st century. A solution to many problems created by single oppressive hegemony of corrupt fake democracy masquerading as "liberalism". Dugin does not reject "liberalism". Dugin simply highlights that modern version of "liberalism" is not liberal at all, it mutated into a form of dictatorship and aggressive oppressive regime, which is not liberal at all. Modern liberalism is a lot like fascism. And there was a mentioning that Dugin is under "sanctions". OMG. This only proves this fascist western regime masquerading as "liberalism". A philosopher is being sanctioned simply for his academic ideas and very practical ideas which highlight many problems of today's world. And of course they already attempted to murder Dugin and killed his daughter instead. What a wonderful "liberal" world it is where they murder children of philosophers for his thinking and ideas. What next? One wrong post and you are in prison. Oh, I forgot, this too is already a reality of modern "liberalism".
He ought to reject liberalism. The logical endpoint of liberalism is the cultural hegemony you describe. The 19th century conception of liberalism cannot be sustained, it fell apart in roughly 50 years.
@@xenophon5354 Well, if you look at it from this point of view, then yes. But his main point is not against genuine liberal or democratic values. His is in fact supporting such values as diversity, (multipolar world being good example), pluralism etc. So all these good values are very much part of his big idea. On the other hand, the final stages of totalitarian "liberalism" turning into dictatorship which is obvious of today's situation is what he does suggest to avoid, resist, and fear.
@@AlbionTVLondon Yes, I see that. What I'm suggesting is that liberalism, even in it's pure and "good" form, will always result in totalizing culture. I'm all for multipolarity on the world stage but within a nation pluralism, diversity, etc (the ideas of enlightenment liberalism) have root and stem destroyed Western culture.
@@xenophon5354 I don't know why you suggest that "all forms of liberalism" inevitably turn into totalitarian dictatorship. At this moment in time it is a choice. Collective west simply chose to transform into a dictatorship. But other options are available. But the leadership at the top in the West suffered serious degradation and corruption. I consider this to be the main reason of collapse in "western liberalism". Not the idea of liberalism as such. Putin on the other hand shows elements of both liberalism, good will, and drive towards pluralism. It is remarkable that collective West desperately trying to paint Putin in deliberately dark colours when it is the West that's choosing corruption and totalitarian dictatorship, not Putin.
@@xenophon5354 I also think we need to consider context and understand the key players. USA at this moment in time is claiming to be the main actor and supporter of "Liberal regime". But in reality USA is a failed democracy or a "fake" democracy. They represent neither true democratic values nor true liberal values. Hence such gloomy situation with current affairs. Russia on the other hand doesn't represent true "liberal" values either. But ides of Dugin and Putin such as multi-polar world, rule of mutual respect and understanding are certainly resonating with true democratic values and true "liberal" values. So to make this picture even more colourful, I would call USA an empire of fraud and corruption whose motivation is primarily to retain its unfair monopoly and control. Russia on the other hand, not being necessarily a "white angel" is trying to change this corrupt order and empower other nations to play equal role in world affairs. Naturally this brings an end to single state hegemony. If Russia doesn't do this job, then we would need to find another powerful actor to fight this so called "liberal dictatorship" or else we are all doomed. Who will be this opponent if Russia fails? China?
Sometimes the translator/mediator is the key to transmit the desired message. In Dakota culture, when two people who don’t know each other meet, they use a mediator that is known and trusted by both. All conversation with no communication between the two strangers goes through the mediator until the two parties have understanding of the position of the other through the mutual trusted source. Thus trust is created and expands accordingly. The Native American has yet been given a position at the world discussion table and it Shows for the worlds conflicts. their depth of interpersonal philosophy to the world would be wise to include in any discussion today.

1:03:40 Dugin's (sometimes fierce) rhetoric is aimed at making others to think. How people react to this is a sign of how much they are mature intellectually, at what level they are fit to follow the argument and object. His rhetoric is mainly intellectual provocation, which is natural for a philosopher, imo.
@@coltrxne2154 emotional people might be intellectual, but they prefer to make decisions based on primitive quick emotional reactions rather than really try to understand a response. Provocations may be intellectual. And they need to be aggressive to really affect society. This is how real political activism works.
Here is another interview of Dr Michael Millerman: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JFI6fg8NITg.html . During the last part of the interview, the interviewer asks about his origins and when he replies that he was born in Canada but his parents came from former Soviet Union, the interviewer very politely and subtly (or not so much) asks the same old question typical of all these people - since he talks so much about Alexander Dugin and perhaps likes some of his ideas, then why doesn't he relocate to Russia, goes back to where he came from (even though he wasn't born there) ??? There goes the slogans of respect for freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of this or that... down the drain and your origins are questioned immediately, as if that must have something to do with it and therefore you have no place in this liberal paradise!!! A shocking example of the _illiberalism at the heart of liberalism,_ of intellectual and ideological racism.
Interesting. Someone made that same suggestion to me, to relocate to Russia, just because I said I consider Putin a good leader. At the heart of every corrupt ideology lies the hidden opposite. Orwell made that clear also. This hidden opposite is now becoming very visible. The true Yin Yang philosophy, broadly unknown to us, is quite helpful to penetrate the machinery behind the scene that creates the illusion of a wholesome narrative. They know these universals do exist but they need to be erased from consciousness to further their agenda. In a sense, this is a war on intangible things that underlie everyday reality and by attacking them, reality itself changes profoundly. To call these people satanists is not a naive term: satan is a symbol for overthrowing natural order. By attacking the universals of good and evils, they have handicapped us greatly to understand what is going on.
Jazaka Allah khayran Paul and thanks Micheal it was an eye opening and answered a lot of answers that I had and made the current conflict a lot more clear.

That's funny, I'm Russian, but listening about Dugin in English. I pay tribute to those who managed to translate him from Russian, like Dr Millerman, as I know it's not the easy reading. I'll have to return to this video later, to rethink some key points, but I want to say that it was very helpful. For many Russians Dugin is difficult to understand (I watched few videos of him, and very each time very quickly I was losing focus) and for others he is a sort of demon (similar to western opinion about him, and probably imported from there) Just recently I came across a video of Russian journalist and political analytic, who's opinions often are very close to mine on different matters, so he said positive things about Dugin's vision. And now I came across this video. So maybe I'll make an effort and try to read his book, keeping in mind all decoded nuances I've learnt today from this video. Thank you.
Dugin is a fascinating character. I struggle with some of his associations though, including outright fascists of various forms. I agree the liberalist view of humans is perverted and I understand the idea of putting differences aside for the common cause. But if the price for stopping this is a bunch of countries ran by white nationalists and religious fundamentalists, it's not one I'm willing to pay. America is the last in a long line of Western Euro-Christian empires that have passed the torch from one to another. There is nobody left to pass it to, so it will go somewhere else. Assuming there is no catastrophic war on the shift that ends human history, the standard of living will get much worse throughout the western world. When people have real problems, they'll drop most extreme excesses of liberalism and become more conservative. We're seeing it already. Imo it's just cycles of empire and the west is clearly in decline. It's like looking at an 85 year old and trying to come up with a 15 year plan to get fit again.
Very enlightening talk on the subject, and piqued my interest for sure. Reminder we should be watching more of Paul's great long format content and not just liking the great community updates. Dr Millerman is a great guide to Dugin's ideas and their context. 👍
Great subject! Strangely, this video popped up just as I was thinking of how transgenders are striving to be recognized as a "community" by the US government. Like LGBTQ... and certain other groups that claim they are a valid, independent community, they all seem to be aspiring to gain advantage (not equality) over those people whose culture they want cancelled, yet the culture they want cancelled is based on the Constitution, Bill of Rights that are the basis of laws and rights that protect ALL citizens. Promoting and funding these sexuality-based "communities" is a tactic the globalist Intel organizations like the CIA, M6, Mossad, etc. use to distort the truly important common interests of citizens (like freedom, liberty, economic strength, opportunities to prosper and so forth) then they divide and conquer. Once they have psychologically scrambled the brains and manipulated the hormones and genes of an entire generation of youth that are so consumed with contemplating whether they want to be addressed as a girl, a dog, a pig, whatever, and have lost all touch with reality, it will be easy for the ruling class globalists to maintain power.
52:00 whatever shall happen in the future, Dugin has already accomplished his mission in broad sense. He had written dozens of excellent books, his ideas are spread around, and the Ideas do not die. In a way, he reminds Socrates, who also questioned democracy, and is still great, thousands years after.
Congratulations on the conversation! Here in Hungary, in Europe, millions of people see clearly and know how dangerous the Great Reset is. This is exactly why we re-elected our conservative leaders for the fourth time.🔥
