Not sure if you knew this, but that crash near the beginning that you blurred out ... he (Connor Cummins) did not die from that accident. Wasn't sure if you blurred it because you thought it resulted in a death. He continued to race after he recovered.

@@skibbadabba The reason most people have accidents on bikes is because they think of them as exciting toys and all sense of danger leaves their thought processes. Back in the 80s when I passed my test my instructor gave me 2 pieces of advice, (1) treat everyone else on the road as if they're morons, (2) constantly ask yourself "what if". My bikes were my only form of transport to get me to work therefore I treated them like they were one of my kids. I've lost a few biker mates over the years but they all had one thing in common, they rode too fast, took stupid risks, and fucked around on them. I used my bikes every day as a form of transport and not as a penis extension.

James May once did this course on a motorcycle with Oz Clarke in a sidecar. It was made entirely out of Meccano (except for the wheel bearings), even the electric motors. I think it took something like a full day. Still, the bike looked cool, even though it kept breaking.

My older brother and I use to do the dirt tracks. We never had the guts to race on motorcycles. Our grandfather always told us that when you are on your motorcycle you will get into a crash and it's most likely not your fault. Remember the rule of three. If you had one bad you will have two more. I know it's true. This goes for cars as well. I was in one on the way to the race. It totaled my brother's truck but we wouldn't be known as cowards and went on. During the race because there was only one other female we were gained up on. Well the second came and both of us didn't walk away from it. It was enough for me to say no more. My brother stopped two years later when a tire blew out and he hit the wall hard. It was the trill of it. To say as a female I did it. I wasn't as great as everyone but I was good enough to race. And yes I am one of those crazy rare females that ignored all logic.

People just want to see danger, combat, drama, and death. We love it. Families in the US used to go watch the idiots that were unlucky enough to get hanged or their heads lopped off at the town hanging stables. Imagine that today. Even the so-called "pacifists" can't resist seeing a domestic dispute, car crash, or combat sports. There are people who like to participate, and people who like to watch. There will ALWAYS be an audience for danger and death. If there was somebody who started the Rome coliseum events back up where lions chased people (they were mainly Christians, how characteristic of a fallen society), and people killing animals or others for sport, the livestreams would break records and attendees would have to create their own seating with how popular it would be. It's crazy to attempt to suppress the natural human inclination to watch or to be involved in danger and risk. Risk and competition are literally observed and studied to be the 2 GREATEST factors to Testosterone production in men, outside of self-care and stress levels. We humans are just meant for the thrill of life.

Why should the the TT be cancelled? Road racing is not just limited to the IOM, we also have the Irish Road Racing, Macau GP, Imatra Road races and many eastern European countries love their road racing. The TT is the pinnacle of a world wide sport and not a 1 off stand alone event where anyone can show up and race. In terms of riders, - any participant must have a international racing licence. - rookies take 3 years to learn the course and are accompanied and educated of the dangers where possible. - Every man or woman on the starting grid knows the dangers of the sport and the risks they face including the possibility of death - Every rider is there because they want to be not because they have to be. No one is forced to be there or is there just for a pay cheque. In terms of fans, - we know when we place ourselves at the side of a track we know the danger we place ourselves in. But it's not blindly putting yourself in deaths path, the riders are racing at 130+ mph, they trust each other so as fan why shouldn't we trust the riders, that means the only danger I face is an uncontrollable event, I could be killed by an uncontrollable event at any time in life so why should I place any extra weight to that when Im enjoying myself watching some I enjoy and have a passion for. - all Motorsport is dangerous it the nature of the beast. - at all road racing events, it is printed either on the ticket or in the official race programme that "Road Racing is dangerous which carries a high risk of injury or death. By entering the circuit you so at your own risk." So every fan that attends just like the riders accept the possible risks of going racing. - having said the above there is no better high in life than when your at a race and you find yourself in the rare position of a bike coming towards you at over 100+ mph thinking 'oh shit' then the rider regains full control gets themselves back online and heads off down the circuit. That out breath of thank god comes with the biggest shot of adrenaline I've ever had. - even just being track side is an adrenaline rush, 1000cc superbikes passing you at 180+ mph just 2 or 3 feet away is amazing. The sounds, the smells, the wind off the bikes as they pass, the legend's that are never afraid to go elbow to elbow. There is absolutely nothing like it. I also have to say, these riders are rockstar's and legend's to us fans, yet at most road racing events you can openly walk around the paddock, look at bikes up close, chat to the riders and their mechanics, riders even happily sign things for young fans. I would never be able to walk in to Mercedes garage, walk around the car close up and talk to Lewis or George about the car, a previous race or an upcoming race. And you would do well to find an F1 driver that could walk around an F1 car and talk in depth about every single part of the machine. These riders are legends when their leg goes over the bike but the just average every day men and women when their off the bike, that is so refreshing in professional sports.

It's true that there are adrenaline junkies but one thing about this video is that this race takes place in neighborhoods. The people living in homes didn't sign up for a bike crashing in their bedroom. But if it is on a proper track then race all you want.

Absolutely every single person ive met that live on a road racing circuit, from teens to oaps, from farmers to ceo's are all happy to be able to enjoy racing from their front garden, they are happy to have the event generating profit racing brings to the area, they love welcoming us fans, strangers into their gardens to watch the racing and share stories. Every road racing event organisers inform residents of road restrictions well in advance and all have protocols for an unexpected emergency in any home around the circuit to take priority. Thats just general road racing, when it comes to the Isle of Mann its even more so, every person born on the island grow up loving and being part of the sport and the 2 week event generates a serious amount for the economy, so why should it be restricted to tracks? Are you going to go tell rally drivers they have to race on tracks, are you going to tell the FIA that F1 and FE arent allowed have Street races anymore? There is road racing all around the world across all forms of Motorsport so why should bike be confined to tracks?

Enjoyed your discussions in this video. The one thing that guy said is the "families who want it banned". I don't believe is true. Most of the relatives I have heard or read about want the race to continue in memory to their loved one. Those riders died doing what they loved to do. I heard one say in another video that he didn't want his TT Racing to be a long-term thing. He knew that if you come back and back sooner or later your number is up.

Regarding the "taking away dangerous things" conversation. Just because someone says 5 out of every 1000 dies, that doesn't constitute "taking away" the dangerous activity. I would rather know my odds before I choose to participate in a dangerous activity. In certain activities, safety measures constantly advance. I would want to know about those advancements. Back in the day in the US when they first started putting seat belts in cars(across the 50s,60s and 70s), people were whining that they were having their rights infringed on and that they should be able to choose whether or not they get launched through the windshield of a car. Seriously. Ridiculously stupid stance to take, for sure.

Good video, although there were a load of clips in there that weren't even from the TT. They are a different breed but it's certainly not done for fame and fortune, it's done for the love of it. The winner of the Senior TT, if they lead every lap can get total prize money of £18,000. Highly recommend reacting to Peter Hickman's onboard chin camera lap that's on his own channel. Incredible footage and it's only a demo lap and is a couple of minutes slower than his race lap. There's also a cracking onboard car lap of the Isle of Man TT with Mark Higgins that's well worth a look. Oh and Dave, I'm still laughing about the Isle of Wight being occupied by Germany 😂 You were thinking of the Channel Islands.

I believe some of the top riders do get paid a bit to come to the TT but I don't think it's much and I think it's just a few of the them. That figure is just for the marquee race but even so it's not a lot is it when you think it's the elite racers in road racing taking part and if you think of elite sportsman in a lot of other sports it's barely a days pay for them.

The obscured accident was not fatal, this commentator overstates everything about the TT, watch a different video, this guy does not give a favourable picture of this event, he is very biased, stay safe.

Worst isle of man video yet. Mostly the narrator telling us how mind bogglingly dangerous it is. Disappointing.

I just reacted to this myself yet no one is interested at all. WTF am I doing wrong? I lost my old channel and all my subscribers and have had to start again so fair enough I’m gonna struggle but even with my old channel no one cared. Yet the 40 odd closest followers and Patreons say my reactions are the best on RU-vid. They’re definitely bullshitting me.. what is the Fucking point 😑😤

The world isn't overpopulated, if it was we'd all be starving.
