One time, while at a casino, they had 12 slot machines in a semi circle around an SUV. Each one had a huge jackpot above it (20-50k). There was a middle aged man, emotionless, playing 3 machines. We only were watching him for a minute when all of a sudden DING DING DING!!! One of the machines hit the jackpot of $42,000...and it didnt even make him flinch. No smile, no sigh of relief, he just continued to play the other 2 games even with the sirens blaring. I had to know what was going on, so I went up to him when things were quiet and asked him "dude, you just won 40k, why arent you jumping for joy". He stopped, looked at me with a dead face and said "Im still $110,000 down" then turned back and kept playing the other 2 games. This was 15 years ago...and I still wonder what happened to him, but sadly I know, for a fact, he never got back to even.

I live with my parents because I'm disabled, and sometimes I feel so guilty for being dependent on them. and then I see a piece of shit like this. I hope his parents are able to either get him help or get him out. they deserve peace.

Thank God I got out of this hell. I was starting to look just like him. And when I broke my cell phone, I saw where it was going, with the help of my family and advice, I moved away, but I keep this channel there, if I want to play again, I can just log in and see what I was like... Don't gamble!!

This is addiction. I remember reading recently that in the addict's brain, you get a dopamine hit when you lose too and it might even be bigger when your brain has be rewired through addiction. So physiologically, you actually become wired to go till you lose.

To be fair this kid causes ALL his dads problems, property damage, stress, Abuse physically (on his mother) emotionally on both. Also, living in your fathers home and telling him to get out your life, is beyond amusing 😂😭

I have to thank my parents for ensuring I stay away from this type of stuff. I dislike gambling, I avoid drugs like the plague, and the taste of alcohol is so abhorrent to me that I refuse to drink it now. I'm also never get this angry to the point that I'd make a hole in the walls or doors. On the rare instances I do get mad, I just make fun of myself and it usually makes me feel better. I turn my rage into a comedy show for myself and my friends to avoid lashing out at others

I've had a gambling addiction similar to his although way worse at a way larger scale, although I was never a piece of shit to my parents thankfully, I'd never be able to do that to them. The way I relate to his behavior of the dopamine addiction to the highs and lows is extremely terrifying, and he's probably the only person I've ever witnessed display psychological behaviors identical to mine. I've had sessions that I run up from 10 to 20 thousand dollar depo's to north of 200k and then piss it all down the drain to 0, multiple times. I've burned through north of a million dollars in just one year alone, terrible; extremely horrifying looking back at it. I believe gambling is in fact one of the worst if not THE WORST addiction someone can have. I hope for the betterment of society people understand this is something not to tread water on, and to just turn around and do something more productive and meaningful with their life. Hope he realizes this sooner or later before he is so far deep into the hole, that there is no longer a possibility to get out.

Gambling addiction is so miserable and bad. It’s a lonely dark tunnel you feel like you will never ever escape. If anyone’s struggling with it, you can and will get through it. For me, I found the gym to be my dopamine. I got hooked on bodybuilding and now that’s my daily high. Living in Vegas is difficult to stay away from casinos because they’re literally in your face 24/7. But my willpower to have money in my pocket overcame everything.

Jesus... I'm so glad I never got into this shit. I honestly have done pretty decently IRL gambling, but this ease of accessibility just ruins you. There's no cashing out and feeling the physical winnings. Your brain doesn't even comprehend it's real unless you cash out... But when it's the only thing you get attention for, and even one person is saying LET HIM COOK... There's nothing stopping him, and nothing else to do but gamble more in that state. So making $10k from a few hundred just makes you think "Yeah, but now I can do $1k bets! Imagine if that hits like the $30 bet did!" And it's all gone in an instant. Brutal and devastating.
