I’ve been making this cake for years except I put a raspberry filling inside. And I chop up the coconut instead of leaving it just shredded! One of my favorites!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🎂🎂🎂🥥
I made the cake and it turned out amazing, although I used coconut milk instead of buttermilk. Please, can I get the recipes in grams? It wasn't really easy converting the ingredients to grams.
Thank you SO much for sharing this recipe! It was my mom’s favorite cake and I lost the recipe. I’ve been looking for it for years! I hope you are well.
Bring all the ingredients to room temp, watch the video, do it EXACTLY like she does - most amazing coconut cake ever (and I live in South Carolina)!!!
I recommend this recipe! I made it for my Dad’s Birthday, and he LOVED it!!! I think I added to much salt, 😅but it was still SO good. Thank you SO much for these AMAZING recipes ❤️ I so much enjoy watching them 😃 And to add some more coconut flavor, (for those of you that don’t have coconut extract) You can soak some 2-3 tablespoons of coconut in milk, and soak your cake in it
I just made this cake. Man... many steps but your instructions were spot on. Good flavor and super moist. Wish mine could have turned out more picture ready, but will definitely be doing this again soon! Thank you for this recipe
I wanted to thank you for this recipe! I have made this 4 times in the last 2 weeks for cake orders I've had. It is such a hit and so very easy to make. Thank you for such a fantastic recipe. Wish I could post some pictures of how beautiful it turned out!
I just finished putting together this cake. I'm enjoying it. However, on my part, I filled it with lemon curd. The curd overpowers the coconut. So, lesson learned.
Angela Terrell honestly, still sounds great. I can see where you were trying to go with it. Lemon and coconut does sound delicious! Maybe a little less lemon curd to just add a hint of freshness? I will definitely give the lemon twist to this cake when I make it lol
@@mzdiamondlover I took this cake to work and everyone loved it! Perhaps, because I'm new to this type of cake combo, my taste buds needed time to adjust. Thanks for the suggestion by the way. I hope to try more of her recipes. They are amazing!
I made this cake for my friends birthday and omg it was so good, I just tweaked it by making a pineapple curd filling, so it was a pina colada cake, fantastic! several people said it was the best cake they had ever eaten!! thanks for the great recipes!
Hello beautiful. Love all your recipes, they've got the best textures I've seen. I was wondering if you could make an updated version of your red velvet cake using the reverse creaming method. I'm dying for that texture in a red velvet cake and my parents' anniversary is coming up soon. I wanna surprise them with the best. Thank you very much
Hai Liz I made this cake for my husbands 30th birthday last week. It turned out so good . But unfortunately my frosting started to curled up while whipping I have no idea why and what went wrong . So I added corn flour and made it little ok consistency to frost and popped in the freezer. I would love to know why my frosting loosing up and curled please
I think maybe the ingredients were not all the same temperature. Butter and cream cheese must be soft when you put your finger in it. Room temperature. Hope this helps. I am from the South and made this with my mom for many years.
Wow! I love coconut cake it’s exactly my favorite I happen to be looking for a simple but, super delicious recipe. I’m super excited to give this a try for my birthday cake this year you rock!!! 🌹☺️
Thanks for this wonderful recipe I really don’t like the taste of a lot of toasted coconut flakes so I subbed it with coconut milk and sweetened coconut condensed milk AWESOME 👏
OMG, I continue to make it every way, but in different variations. I first omitted the coconut in the cake. This 'CAKE' & 'Frosting' recipe is a pure luscious DREAM!!! THANK YOU!!!
I haven't made very many cakes from scratch because most of them are too light. I was looking for a cake that was a bit denser and I didn't have buttermilk so I used sour cream thinned with coconut milk. It turned out amazing, thanks 😊
It looks delicious. I will make it, however will substitute coconut milk instead of buttermilk. Have you ever tried it with coconut milk? Keep up the great videos.
Liz, can you use this as a base for an Italian Cream Cake by adding pecans? Are there any other ingredients, e.g. almond extract instead of the coconut?
I just made the coconut 🥥 cake 🎂 with this recipe just waiting for it to cool off but tasted the batter and tasted the frosting 🧁 and I love it 🥰 thank you for this recipe
Hey Liz sorry to bother but I am looking to make this cake for myself as my birthday cake but wanting to really add to the batter some crushed pineapple and some rum was wondering if I would have to add or remove anything?
Would using coconut oil, for the boost of coconut flavor, instead of canola oil ruin the integrity of the cake? Seeing that coconut oil acts different at room temperature.
Ahhh so cute! I’ve been drooling over and dreaming about this video since quarantine started and I finally took a day off work to make it! It is so delicious - my dreams have come true! Wish I could post a pic of mine but I can’t figure out how. Thank you for this!
