The scenery around Salford is quite incredible

I quit drinking in 2017, and I'm happy to say that I don't see anything that I'm missing. I was more of a clubber mind you, and yes I kind of miss that. As for pubs, I don't miss them at all really. Clubs have young women and good music. Pubs have old women and awful music.

I've heard they are filming 28 years later up north as it will need minimal cgi to make it look like a post apocalyptic wasteland.

When I was living in Manchester, late at night if in Oxford Road I'd go to The Salisbury and get a pint of Theakstons Old Peculiar on cask BTW Titanic beers are brewed in Stoke-on-Trent - I've had Plum Porter Grand Reserve 6.5% on cask which is superb - it's a rare find,

In the space of 30 years (back when I was 17 in 1994) my local area, Bredbury in Stockport, went from people complaining about how many pubs there were, to now 30 years on in 2024 and I am 47, there's maybe 2 of the 13 pubs we used to have still in operation and people are complaining about the _lack_ of pubs. Even the Queens on Bents Lane now seems to be boarded up and they have closed. The Greyhound on Bents Lane that was always an "old biddies" place and the Rising Sun on Stockport Road that I remember even as a kid going in there and having a meal and as far as i know, nothing has really changed there and they still serve food, there's still the beer garden/kids playground at the back I remember going to as a kid with my parents. How important these places are but they just vanish, it's terrible.

The only thing I’d say is it would be good if you stayed in the pub, all be it some because of music you can’t but the second pub man that looked a right dingy one, would of been good if you sat inside and got a feel for the atmosphere. You wanna try Altrincham HP..Tram ride from Manchester..Some dives to try out..Bricklayers Arms has some characters in it! Used to be a old bikers club back in the day.

2 pubs on the estate where you started, the Bricklayers Arms and the Welcome Inn.Also the Palatine opposite Strangeways and The Star near the Cliff training ground. Used to be 1200 ish pubs in old Salford. That's without Eccles , Swinton etc.

Top area, used to drink around Salford. Like you say, good people. Priory was a great pub. Winston I remember all the furniture was nailed down 😂, looks different. My favourite was the Church Inn, think it’s closed now. Also you need to be on the marching powder if you’re walking around there 😂

Yes I can confirm (as a British Indian) Cobra is an Indian beer. Just to be sure though, it's brewed here with UK water as you can imagine the cost of transporting that much water intercontinentally is prohibitive.

The Temple bar aka The Temple of Convenience (the toilet pub) is a great boozer but only small and gets rammed, it was a favourite of Guy Garvey's (from the band Elbow) before he sauntered off to live down in "that London" 😂 it still attracts plenty of music types and is a cool place, the actual toilets are a bit grim tho, lol. That Plum Porter in The Peveril Of The Peak sounds bangin', would definitely like to try that for a "taste of autumn" for sure! 🧡 Keep up the great work pal, all the best. 🍻👊 P.s. The Pevril of the Peak and The Temple are always a must when around Manchester for me, usually end the evening in Grand Central. Loved the vid 👍🏻
