Sometime love isn’t right in your own backyard and you may need to go abroad. This falls within the realm of “Sex Tourism” but “Passport Bros” have put their own spin on it and say they’re looking for love in other places. They feel western women have been influenced by cultural and societal pressures to behave in a certain way that doesn’t fit their wants. Considering that “passport bros” are predominantly black men, when highlighting their trips overseas often come with bashing American women, primarily black women and that’s where the pushback and controversy lives.

Jalon is a great listener. I always notice how he intentionally listens to whoever is speaking so that he can thoughtfully add his input. An important part of this conversation is the fact that the passport bros are going to these countries and taking advantage of poor women. They’re looking for women who will do anything to take care of their families, and promising them a life in America if they do whatever he wants. They don’t want partners to lead, they want women to control.

Even though there is truth to that, not everyone is going overseas for that purpose. The main reason men are going overseas is because women overseas for the most part are not entitled, they are respectful and are traditional. Work on you character, morals and show that you are a quality guy capable of loving a woman and the right girl will see that. The women in these countries are looking for a way out of their situation. Because they have less, they are willing to do whatever to get them papers. They emigrate without knowing the language, having working papers, etc. So the man ends up being solely financially responsible for this woman and at times her family. And when she does get papers, she may dip. How is that different from meeting a woman and her expecting you to support the family in the US?? It's super OK to have a foreign woman in your home that can't work, but not an American woman??

I would challenge BM to travel to at least 10 countries all 1st world countries stay for at least two weeks and mingle amongst the locals than formulate your opinion on the differences. A Colombian here: As a follower of the show for several months, sometimes agreeing and sometimes not with the content or ideas. I always tried to see it as another perspective and learn. Because I love to learn, like most Colombians. Now in this episode although at first I wanted to let it go, yes it is ignorance and unfortunately it is an idea that has spread. In this one you guys were very irresponsible with your comments, being aware of the level of transmission and reach you have, to make comments like 27:41 "when you are going to Colombia or Brazil... you are not looking for a wife" 😷Although I can understand the background of the discussion, the way it was said was inappropriate. Mad respect when talking about women from other cultures and be more careful with what you say because of the way it can be misinterpreted.

I think what is missed most in these conversations is the fact that black men are very capable and persistent in making determinations about the women they want in THEIR own life. There is a stereotype that we are not thinking critically about the type of woman we want to partner with. This is a false narrative. It has nothing to do with risk/hard task avoidance, because we know regardless of who we partner with, it’s going to be work. But, I feel that what these men (PB’s) are saying is they don’t want to partner with someone who will make it HARDER. Say what we want, but the American mindset, when that mindset takes center stage, tends to make things HARDER. Verses, the coming together taking center stage. What I hear, is PB’s feel the coming together is the most important thing with women abroad. And, if I am correct, that’s a very powerful draw to a man. It was a primary consideration of mine 36 years ago when I got married and is still to this very day.

I don’t know if I agree. I think it’s the mindset. And let’s not act like that doesn’t exist. I see it e frequently and from very sharp, intelligent and put together women. But, when it comes to mating with a man, that mindset cannot be what takes center stage. I love how Duke challenged Jalon. The women will flock to what Jalon’s saying because he’s mentioning what (rightfully so) SOME of the passport bros do. But think about it, they “demean” the women here while simultaneously going abroad, but he only had to “go abroad” after consistently being “demeaned” here in the first place 🤷🏾‍♂️ he probably could’ve been checkmated with that. And what Duke said was spot on.. it’s the American Woman MINDSET that has men going overseas. I’m not even a passport bro and I MYSELF won’t even wife an American woman. This was a well rounded discussion with opposing views and it was great.

One thing about the American Woman Mindset is you don’t have to be a Man to know that the collective mindset of women here is flawed. Remove men completely out (this part) of the conversation; WOMEN from all over the world despise the American woman’s mindset and conduct. Several black men would be more than willing to if they felt like American women weren't respecting their manhood. What may seem like surface level analogies for you could be real insecurities that men are dealing with that push them to pursue these women. Right or wrong, like it or not, that's a real reality of our society. Like Jalon said, the over-glorifying and belittling are the bigger issue with these men pursuing foreign or "exotic" women. I don't think the show is unrecognizable. They've been transparent in other episodes about not being perfect and still learning new things for themselves because they're human like we are. As viewers, we gotta remember they're just as human as us and probably don't have the clear cut answers on every topic. In all reality, if any of us had clear cut answers on these things, they probably wouldn't be a thing as much anymore in that case.

They don’t understand that there’s immigrant communities in the U.S. in many states and major cities. Like in Houston, Texas it’s an international city with people of different cultures from different countries. There are large Nigerian communities in Houston and Dallas that have restaurants and stores and they do cultural events.

This is very true. White skin is seen as the most desirable among Asian countries. Here in the west white people tan, but in Asia they avoid tanning at all costs and use whitening products on their skin. They can be pretty racist to darker skins, even darker skinned Asians. I think black men are the most desired among most black women, but not amongst other races. They're seeing beauty through their own eyes as black people, so they are going to find their own race more attractive...but white people see beauty through white peoples eyes and mostly prefer their own race also. Of course there's exceptions who do find other races more attractive, but they are a minority. Most people date people of their own race. Every race probably thinks to themselves they are the most attractive race lol.
