I would love to see a season 2, because Yogiri and the show itself isn’t easy to describe how amazing they are in words. This show has a bit of everything including so many satisfying scenes. The way Yogiri just plain disrespected nearly character stupid enough to try and kill him, kept putting a smile on my face. 😂

Yogiri killing Mana by saying "No, you" is like beat Ganondorf at the beginning of Zelda TOTK 🤣 Watching this show was a absolute blast and never fail to make me laugh at each episode 😂 Especially Yogiri and Tomochika's relationship, they are cute but funny too! I would gladly watch a season 2 and more if happen 👀😎

Oh man it’s so unusual that an OP character use the uno revise card on the final boss. Like normally in most other shows even does with “regular” OP/broken characters you would have a good showcase of a fight. But here Yogiri just said “No you” and the big powerful incest goddess, when she was about to revenge her beloved brother just died. Which even if I know how powerful Yogiri is now, I still had problems to fully buy it. But yeah Yogiri is just that broken so she is totally gone. Then I loved how he did stick to Dannoura after she got that revealing flying outfit. And how she gave him a lap pillow, as they are a pretty cute couple. But how Yogiri is able now to just kill a part of you. And no matter where you go he can continue to torture both you and any loved ones that you happened to see. Really is terrifying that even made a cold blood psycho (b)itch cry as she gave in to his demands.

I cried they did Sion really bad. She's so cheerful not a smug or cackling villain and she operates in the mindset of a videogame rather than genuine malice or evil. But yeah she's highly irresponsible and kills innocents so she got karma. Also if you know the voice actors and eber know Trails of Cold Steel you see and hear Rean brutalizing Alisa who is in love with an unknown person. It's baffling and hard to see/watch for me especially how the one who voiced Sion also voiced Nepgear, Belfast, Springfield, Faruzan, and Enya Murphy.

every opponent keeps thinking MC has a kill/destroy ability when he has, in card game term, remove from play/exile, ability, applies to any concept.

I enjoyed this anime too. He curbed his ability by killing body parts, arms/legs whatever. We all agree that Cid, Ainz, Remuru, all OP, but this dude is on another level. If his ability senses intent to kill it happens on auto. He doesn't even have to be aware, just happens.

This shown is so damn good, the author is goated. I love how BOTH death from Sion the sage and The Dark god sister were so disrespectful. Since Takatou has been training to be precise in his aim of killing things I expected he would slowly disable Sion piece by piece and break her for all the things she's done and that's exactly what happened. I was afraid it would be too short but no it kept going then even her lover was targeted. I deeply feel like the whole journey of Yogiri doing trial and errors to improve the targeting of his ability was solely on the purpose of the encounter with Sion and we got rewarded for it in the best way possible. Like you said a foreshadowing leading to a very precise goal. At this point gate 3 is gonna be transcending reality and killing the anime comittee production if they don't make a season 2🤣Cuz we absolutely need it.E Edit: I see what u did there with the thumbnail, his only weakness...

This was definitely one of the best anime's this season and you're right even if a lot of content was cut from the original material, it was still entertaining and that's what counts. I am praying for a season 2! :)

I had no idea what the hell was happening this entire show. It was like a fever dream. I literally stopped the first episode a few minutes in to look up if this was some sort of sequel to see if there was some kind of backstory I was missing; and it never got better. That being said... I couldn't care less. As stated in the video, the anime is so damn entertaining it's ridiculous. I absolutely love how it leans into certain tropes so hard. I loved the sheer insanity of it all. Would watch a second season without a second thought.

Fully agree with the show doesn't have to be flawless or even make sense as long as its awesome. Keep the story moving, live in the moment, fully immerse itself in each scene. As long as a show can be entertaining it can do anything and get away with it.

The stuff with Mana is even worse cause its not actually slime its a mass of "flesh and viscera". That doesn't add much but that part was much more grotesque and disturbing to read in the novel but that could be said about the whole show cause they definitely focused more on the comedy than the borderline horror aspects of the books. Either way I think this was a good adaptation. The changes they made worked well and didn't mess up the story. I don't really get the hate for cutting some material, basically the only things that were cut were small details other than the cosmic world eater thing. That part is really cool but I can see it just making the show more confusing during that stretch of episodes where they were already jumping around a lot. I know many anime onlys thought that part was confusing so randomly talking about a giant space fish would probably only make it worse.

Damn straight! Sometimes you just need to Yogiri that lil' voice in ye head and say "F it, I'll just enjoy this sweet mess". It's a messy story, make no mistake. And yes, it doesn't take much to nitpick this thing apart. But why should we? The dialogues, the situations, the fact that you know how this is going to end and it's still going to be hella fun... Dragon Girl lit. killed herself when she bared her fangs at Yogiri. The nuke? Please. Mana? Yo' mama (somehow, in her case, that just sounds wrong). How he dealt with Shion was priceless, and even in the end, her boyfriend will simply meet the same fate, because Yogiri. Though he may squeeze his philosopher's stone out of him before doing the word thing. Does it matter? This series is more about how Yogiri is going to wreck everybody else' plan because he simply is The End. True, we missed the imperial army of a neighbouring country (guided by a world eater in human form) being wrecked on the way to the city where everything ended, and a few other lil' funny deaths, but we got the stuff, courtesy of -Dannoura- the rest of the cast. I say, this was fun. Pass me a second season of this nonsense. It's great trash writing. Great review, Brandon, funniest review you've given since Akiba Maid War (hard to top that series). And I agree with you on nearly every detail... except the fact that I prefer an AW Uncle Burger (with extra bacon an cheddar) and root beer. I die on that hill. PD: Aaaand, because it wasn't Yogiri who killed Shion, I got no booze. Not have to pay for a bottle either, so it's not so bad. Pity.

This show is like King Crimson: It just works.

This anime is unque and fun and you right it remined of the anime of 2010s that it leaves a on satisfying note yet they add more season if they want and there is a demand. It did not take it self seriously and is funny, quirky and easy to watch. The characters really underestimate our boy and his powers and end before they have a though to process when coming face to face with him.

The one thing about this show that I always found "bitter sweet" about this show is how you don't get to see that sweet moment in shows when the villain gets put in their place and they immediately go into begging for mercy. We did see it once at least when it came to the Sage. But everyone else that talked big simply got shut down no questions asked

Was not expecting to like this as much as I ended up liking this one. Even now I’m not sure how seriously I should take the deaths in this anime. On one hand they are important for the story but in the other hand the main characters take them so lightly and nonchalantly that I can’t help but laugh sometimes. Regardless I had fun with this one and I’d like to see more seasons because I think this is story has a good example of an OP character done right.

I don't mind that the anime deviated. The last I looked at the manga it hadn't gotten to Mana yet in the dungeon. Some of the skipped content could be repurposed for a season two. The world eater could easily be tweaked into season two.

Agree it's a pretty good turn your brain off and enjoy type of anime, and the constant randomness is definitely one of its strengths. Although I'm really curious about how that anime was made, because it seems like they changed their plan midway and chose to cut even more content than originally planned as the opening shows characters which ended never appearing in the anime. It's a bit disappointing because one of them is a giant fish monster living outside time and space which eats entire worlds.

Bro read the novels. The anime also entertained me greatly and I'm a novel reader! Believe me this is nothing compared to what's to come! Each new volume is better than the last one! I also don't care what people say this remains one of my top 5 animes to this point in 2024 because it's fun and you can't stop watching! I agree with you, it has many flaws. even the manga adaptation has them but I simply dont care because the the plot is very funny (such as how he use his power) covered it up and always makes me laugh. definitely one of the best comedy anime xD

I was hoping he'd fight Sion, but being tortured is better. Now have to wait for season 2, i read it was confirmed last year but i don't remember the site or anything. Since there's 13 volumes, it'd get at least 3 seasons if season 1 took 3 - 4 volumes.

It was a fun ride with this anime and despite the skipping content and roundabouts. In the end Yogiri conquered all. I’ll give it a 7/10. Characters 7/10 Story 5/10 Art 8/10 At least Sion and that Incest Dark God ‘s sister gets destroyed by Yogri at the end was so satisfying. Fun anime for the Winter season

This anime did grow on me but I think it was just ok. It went from a 4-5 to a 6

It's been really entertaining, but I'll hold off on praising it too much. Because it's stupid. Entertainingly stupid, but still stupid.

This was a fun ride to be sure, there's something satisfying about Yogiri as a protagonist. Beyond being an OP power fantasy, he's truly a powerful character who knows he's powerful. That allows the story to feel consistent, no matter how much is thrown at us, if it threatens his life he'll kill. I remember reading a comment that pretty much powerful beings aren't really constrained by morality and ethics, but have to be taught self restraint. And that's why Asaka is best mom.

Definitely, a season 2 will be welcomed much! For how cruel Sion had been the whole season, I kind of feel sorry for how she ended when all she wanted was to save the boy she loved. She was not even thinking about saving herself, all she had in her mind was to save that guy (forgot his name).

I personally don't see what is so great about a show where an MC doesn't have any real struggle, people who have no idea about the series may enjoy it to a degree till they finally learn that nothing beats Yogiri while he on the other hand one shot everything so, and Yogiri isn't just one of the strongest in his series, HE IS THE STRONGEST, this kills any real enjoyment if you ask me even if he doesn't one shot, at least I think the show is better than gushing over lolis

Welp this show was a good parody of isekai tropes. A good take on the genre but as a trash isekai enjoyer I just wished there were more action scenes. It still entertained me but not as much as Arifureta or Eminence in Shadow

I see too many people complain about "AWWWW they didn't adapt the great source blah blah blah" But in the end, you don't need to adapt page to page. Sometimes shuffling items around or even dropping parts can make sense, especially given there's no such thing as "Perfect" LN/Manga really. There's always even with our fav ones where you think - Yeah those chapters aren't needed.

Really good finale imho... Not one of my top animes for this season, but I did enjoy how broken the MC Yogiri was throughout this first season--I think I'd rate the season overall as between good and really good. I'm not expecting more seasons, but I'd probably watch at least season 2 if it got approved.
