I was recently diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and Snapped's hallucinations are really similar to things I experience. I guess it goes to show how easily mental health can spiral out of control, especially when other people want to take advantage of the mentally ill. I hope Snapped is doing ok now and has gotten help.

It is a schizoaffective disorder yes, I’ve had the same until I got help but they still don’t go away as much as just sedated enough to not react but I’ve had family member and friends tell me I could see spirits etc… like no and stop enabling that idea it could make me very sick very fast

I'm glad you were able to receive help. I had a friend with schizoaffective disorder in high school. To a far lesser extent, I experienced severe anxiety in high school, which made me feel constant fight or flight and made me hallucinate creepypastas. In my rational brain, I knew they weren't real, but the intense fear gripped me still. My dad refused to get me treatment, saying that I would be thrown in a nuthouse (which I later learned was not true). After having an allergic reaction to prozac which gave me amnesia, I stopped hallucinating. Nowadays, I began to seek treatment and take cbd oil, and it helps stop irrational thoughts and my panic attacks and helps me sleep. The freedom of relief is bliss.

This is why I am so irritated with other people’s delusions being enabled. “Reality checking” is really opposed on social medias like TikTok. It upsets me to see people playing into mentally ill people’s delusions instead of leaving them be. They treat it like roleplaying, when they’re clearly not well.
@trulyc

I agree, I experience hallucinations and delusions (The delusions started in 2020-2021 but I’ve had hallucinations my whole life). My parents and sibling would always enable these hallucinations saying they are “ghosts” because they believe in ghosts and thought I was “spiritually sensitive”. I managed to realize that they are not ghosts and convinced my parents to get me the proper help I need (therapy and medication). It’s definitely helped though I don’t know what’s caused it. It could have been caused by me having depression (I’m pretty sure I’ve had it since I was young), me having delusional disorder, schizophrenia, or schizoaffective disorder or it could be none of those and I’m just having random hallucinations and delusions. I’m honestly just really glad that I was able to snap out of it and get the help i need.

@@trulyc Truly - " imo we shouldnt be interacting with people who are delusional at all on the internet," If anything I think isolating these people will cause them harm too. We should help non-dangerous mentally ill individuals with community care/medication/psychotherapy where possible; they are still people after all not wild animals. I will agree that sadistic individuals shouldn't be preying on venerable people via the internet; but I guess the anonymity which the internet provides means this is just always going to be a problem.

@@garybrocklehurst6784 I get what you're saying but when it's a stranger online, you have no clue what can help them get there versus what makes them worse/move further away from getting help. That's basically what Truly is getting it. As much as we want to help, we cannot push strangers to get the help they need; hell, it's hard enough to do so with a friend- I've lost a few because they're mad at me for not letting them "game over" so to speak. Reality checking is a useful skill in my own life, but I have to be the one to do it as trusting others too has put me in dangerous situations.

It was really cathartic to hear he'd gotten rid of one of the recurring hallucinations that way. Unfortunately, my beetle hallucinations (thanks pest trauma) aren't as persistent as they used to be, but like to come back whenever I'm stressed out. It's pretty easy to tell whether they're real or not because they don't move realistically, so it only takes a glance for them to disappear or I realise it's just a bit of dark lint, but even though I'm always incredulous, that takes a toll. The worst bit with pest hallucinations is that you can't 100% ignore them, because real pests need to be investigated as soon as possible. If you let them reproduce just one time, it takes months before you can be sure they're gone, and that's ***definitely*** not recommended if you're already traumatised 😅
@theMoporter
@theMoporter Год назад
@@stephanaeon with this kind of visual/audio hallucination, it's less about fact-checking, and more about, like, getting your brain to change track. Getting the phone and looking through the camera requires you to activate other parts of your brain to remember which pocket it's in, swipe in your passcode, hold it up steady, focus your eyes on the screen, etc. It's sort of like when your attention drifts away from a conversation and someone gives you a tap on the shoulder or clicks their fingers to get your attention. Doesn't work so well if you *believe in* the hallucination or delusion, though. So much of psychology is your brain adjusting to expect things that aren't true or that are unhelpful.

I've been ignoring them since I was little to the point at first I thought they were normal and that everyone had them but just ignored them. As I grew older and learned it's not normal, I became accustomed to them so I just kept ignoring them. The result was they don't even bother me anymore, although if I really focus on them, they become "stronger" so to speak and it becomes harder to ignore them. Edit: the point being that I kinda feel lucky I've fallen into a feedback loop of ignoring them instead of paying attention to them and having them grow.

This sounds so terrifying to experience. As someone who has had sleep paralysis as well as night terrors for as long as I can remember, feeding into delusions makes the nightmare real. I grew up being pinned to the bed several times a week, feeling like my entire body was being electrocuted, and I couldn't close my eyes. There was always this silhouette of a bald man thing that was darker than dark, and it would just stand in my doorway and vibrate in a way that made my eyes hurt. When I was 18 and googled it, I found out how common seeing "shadow people" was. I genuinely wished I still thought I was the only person in the world to see something like that. I did and do see a doctor, and it's just a sleep condition that I take medication to help with, but I fell down a rabbit hole of insanity during the period of time I believed that what I was seeing was real. I still kind of wonder though. I just don't think about it anymore. It doesn't help, I'll never get answers and I don't want them anyway, and it's far too easy to spiral. Mental health is no joke.

Honestly this is incredibly sad. This man needs a doctor and a doctor that is going to take him serious. Psychosis is no joke I went through postpartum psychosis after having my daughter and it’s one of the most terrifying things you will ever go through. It’s like being at war with your own brain because you can’t trust Your own brain. It’s really hard to trust other people. But that doesn’t mean that you don’t need help. I knew there was something wrong with me because I would have conversations with people or at least I thought I was having these memories and then I would bring them up to the people I had the memories about and they said that it never happened. A lot of my psychosis started as just questioning whether or not I was seeing some thing correctly. Like shadows out of the corner of my eye or thinking someone had walked by when they didn’t. The experience I had going to the hospital though was not good. I had a mental break down and was forced into an inpatient hospital. The entire time they kept giving me sedatives because apparently I would have panic attacks when I was awake. I unfortunately I have a lot of other health problems so we had to do a lot of research before finding medication that would not make things worse. Cases like this are very very very fragile and the patient needs to be treated with respect, and validation. Even if their claims seem crazy the worst thing you can do is tell someone who is going through active psychosis that they are going through active psychosis. My family had to learn this the hard way because when they would say I was over reacting I didn’t even understand what was going on. I’m actually currently not on any antipsychotics but I am on medication controlling my vitamin levels as well as anxiety medication. As I said before I have a lot of other health problems so I take a lot of medication‘s but it took a lot of hard work and very caring and fragile treatment from doctors. My heart literally aches for this man because I know what the system is like and what he probably has experienced and that’s probably why he’s lost faith in that system. Which I also would validate for him there are certain hospitals that if they brought me to I have flashbacks from the times where they forced me in there and then just drugged me up. My daughter is over a year and my mental state is doing a lot better but I can’t imagine somebody who has no light at the end of the tunnel. I really hope this man finds a good doctor that cares about him and doesn’t just want to shut him up. And to the people encouraging these delusions, it’s kind of evil. This man is sick and he is not in the right state of mind encouraging that is only making him more sick and putting him and the people around him in more danger.

I love how you tell stories, and I appreciated hearing a different side of this one. I feel like a lot of presenters I've heard discuss this person or cases similar treat it very dramatically and present it like a campfire story, and it's nice to see someone talk about the user like a real person and what happened to them after the whole catacombs incident. Thanks for making my day a little brighter when I feel gross, your videos always make me smile.

I had a friend who was schizophrenic… dude had a genius level IQ (180 if I recall) but he was so obsessed with the Illuminati and Freemasons and other secret societies that it was impossible for him to ever apply his brilliance. He had some very strange obsessions too. Like he went through a zen Buddhist martial arts phase and part of that was he’d fully masticate (chew) his food. It was pretty distracting him slurping food around in his mouth. He’d do it with foods like mashed potatoes and peanut butter even. Last I heard he started thinking he was Jesus and tried stalking a female friend of ours for which he was arrested. I also heard he started having delusions that his father was a Freemason so he distanced himself from his family which were the only people keeping him stable. I heard he had issues with the law and repeated episodes that lead him to being hospitalized. In the end I hope the best for him but he certainly was a level of crazy I’m not interested in associating with at this point in my life.

It’s funny too I’m pretty sure Robert Anton Wilson’s Illuminatus trilogy was what kicked off his journey off the rails. If there was any message in that book it was to be careful about your sources and what you believe as truth. He loved the term FNORD which is basically an idea or opinion which is passed off as fact, which is the basis of most conspiracy theories. Hey there! Was watching the video and heard about your part. "I'm not a psychologist... but...", and thought of some things I've had happen to me that could probably help. When I was 21, I was heavily obsessed with being a femboy and being a sort of detourrent for my sister to not have to worry about sexual predators. I've already been doing it for some time. But after my 22nd birthday, I began acting strange, even looking back on it now. Whenever I'd be taking transit to visit friends or anything, I'd act even more hupervigilant than I used to be. I wasn't a kid who grew up stupid my mom and sisters have all taught me techniques and things that I need to be worried about strangers on the road and in elementary school but this hyper vigilantism was unlike anything I was used to doing myself this hyper vigilantism eventually turned itself into a sort of delusion that there was a group of people that were trying to find me whether it was to traffic me or whether it was to make me disappear off the face of the Earth there was a group of individuals who were attempting to find me which would have me believe that they could tap into things like the music I listen to the energy I radiate based off my mood and the games I play all of this kind of boil down when eventually my mom sent me to the mental hospital to get me evaluated and make sure I was doing good mentally the psychologist their determined that I had two cases mainly one case wasn't as bad as the other one cuz one case was basically the main actor taking over the whole show when the other one is kind of just running in the background in this case this was an instance where I had something they classify as a schizophrenic psychosis, were a person experiences delusions of a group or individual that doesn't exist that has intentions to find or harm them even if they're even if they're delusions are countered by real life proof that it isn't real, I've specifically remember nights where I was walking out with my friends in downtown and in my head I was under the assumption that there were people in the crowd that were following me for a minute but I couldn't actually prove it. This is a good case of someone having schizophrenic psychosis psychosis is usually the general feeling that everything is out to get you but schizophrenic psychosis is a very special and very like rule-based version of psychosis where you don't necessarily believe everyone out in the world is out there to get you but with schizophrenic psychosis you kind of invent this like Illuminati Corporation sort of to say that is hunting you down or trying to locate you. My other diagnosis ironically enough just being schizophrenic is not as bad as schizophrenia is made out to be it's not like I turn around the corner and I see something that isn't there or here people speaking into my ears whenever I don't want to, I've received tons of psychological help over the past five years and with hardening friendships and explaining to family about doctors I have someone managed to get my life back in order, but schizophrenia will often have you do little quirks regardless of your condition whether it's like a stable condition or you're actually cracking at the seams, an example with me is that even if I'm alone or with a friend doesn't matter whatever I'm doing at that point in time whether if it's not readable I will narrate my own life experiences as they're happening in real time to myself even if I'm the only person in the room as if I'm a third person party watching my own life through my own eyes when we all know this isn't the case but this is just a quirk that I have from my mental condition and it doesn't emphasize that I don't have the mental capacity to understand that I am my own being and the actions I do are result of my actions , I think of it as like as if I was a RU-vidr doing real life content and I was just narrating my day-to-day life just instead of thousands of subscribers I'm narrating to myself, which is just a self-check way to make sure that my mental is not absolutely going insane because I talk to myself in a sane voice in order to make sure that my mental is still good if I start becoming incoherent or senile or start blabbering nonsense about some Evil Lizard Corporation that's trying to find me then I know I've cracked. I know it's a bunch of random knowledge points, but if it helps understand the chaotic uncertainty of having scitzophrenia, you may be able to spot it in a friend or loved one and know how to not shame them for it.

It seems that people have started to become hesitant with reality checking, although, if handled properly, it’s an important tool. Never feed into someones delusions. Ever. What is scary about the internet is that not only are people going to it to seek medical advice from complete strangers but they could just as easily find somebody just like themselves, as far as having a mental episode, and they could team up to create complete havoc. Like what if the person calling him chief wasn't messing with him and was actually completing their own mission to find a universal soldier to defeat the underrealm. While the other guy is a universal soldier on a mission to find his commander who is the only one who knows the secrets of where to find, enter and defeat the beast of the underealm. They could be down there right now for all we know.

Also not a psychiatrist/psychologist but it's pretty clear there's something not right with SnappedFingers, presuming they're in earnest. I can only assume that they've since gotten some help, although if they really wanted to leave that business behind they could get a new account. Shame on those who were exploiting them presumably for their own kicks.

Love the channel! Found you yesterday and have been grinding the content. My only bit of feedback is that I would love the the mouse click noise to be either quieter or entirely removed. For some reason it is really messing with my head as I listen 😅

How can you see someone clearly struggling mentally and take advantage of their distress?

I'm only halfway through the video,but honestly the similarities between me and this guy genuinely scare me. Especially the blood ritual thing,that is a thing I did back when I was going through a tough time and self hrming. I thought there were people from other dimensions watching me bacuse they wanted to have my blood. I also used to hallucinate,though my hallucinations weren't this intense...watching this feels like watching myself from 3 years ago.
