I recommend you chuchel, it's a game made by the same creator some years ago, and even though it has the same weirdness it doesn't have any blood or anything creepy and it's actually a very happy and cheerful game, its like the counterpart of this game and it's cool.

Theory: I think that thing that puts waffle to sleep is trying to help him and get his toys back. The nightmares are just something trying to make sure waffle doesn't get his toys and the other one is trying to stop them but the player ends up doing it first. xD

Its nice to see horror games that dont rely on jumpscares but just pure creepy imagery and body horror and just generally creepy settings

Theory: Since the first nightmare, we can see that he was dreaming BUT at the end he was a grown man and dead (Kinda cuz he wasn't) But the theory says that he was smoking drugs to find happiness, and the smiley thing in his dreams is NOT happy, it is so worried about the drugs he used, he used so many drugs his head melted. And the true waffles is trapped in a box in the dark void

My proof is, when its at the last level to get the bunny, when a heart explodes you can see the smiley monster look up, after it looks up one of the smiley monsters with many arms start to die with a bright beam, that is actually the smiley head monsters beam, and next, the reason the monster is putting the child to sleep is so that he/she can get their toys back! and I also belive the story that KraziShadowbear is telling bc I think its true and ive never seen the desc of the game and ive never played it so that sreally intresting anyway sorry for making u read this much!

*If you guys didn’t know what’s going on:* The real story about this game is waffles was having three times nightmares about his past two toys and his dog missing, and all the toys in puzzle are one of the bullies destroyed, it apparently gave him trauma and the bunny he drop on the water that he can’t get it is bcuz he can’t swim and had a fear of drowning. The heart headed people are example of himself playing his playful thing he do in the past, and the soccer part is the ball he lost from the first part, is gaving the feel of how he loved. And pancake is never found he disappeared in the woods, probably died and never been found ig, as you can see in the end he is dreaming himself sleeping with his two toys and his dog in the past, while in reality, his already grown up and he died of drugs, just bcuz he’s been suffered of trauma and feeling lost all the things he missed, and forgot how to smile again The end :)

The meaning of this thing is the smile man is trying to make the baby happy and get his most beloved playmates back. Each dream gives him one of them. So the meaning is all to make the baby happy. Just in a horror game themed way! All a misunderstanding.

nenna i really suggest you to play machinarium its the same developer that made the happy game and its also a puzzle game its a story about a little robot who is trying save the town
