Vertical Sunning: New R&D project for vertical food production without artificial lighting in urban areas. NOVAGRIC has developed in collaboration with Tecnalia this innovation project with the support and funding of CDTI and the Ministry of Science.
The Vertical Sunning project is a vertical and urban agriculture solution to produce sustainable food in cities in a more efficient way.
This R+D project also aims to solve a critical point of the current Vertical Farms: the high energy cost due to artificial lighting systems.
Our goal was to develop a new model of vertical food production without artificial lighting, prioritizing the access and distribution of solar radiation, with low energy consumption, using water and sunlight as a basis for reducing the carbon footprint.
