Beautiful memories! It is such a pleasure to be able to follow little Sunshine on her journey with her herd and see the love they share! One of my favorite moments is with Khanyisa pestering Timisa and Timi getting tired of it and bellowing and the ladies come running to settle them down!❤

Unbelievable footage and commentary! Its just absolutely incredible to me how much love and care the herd has for one another! Not to mention you Adine, and your staff! ALL of them! Thank you ALL for being so kind hearted in protecting these animals! 💗💗💗

Thank you to the entire HERD team for Khanysia's first three years of a new life that now knows the warm love she so deserves.

When I was a child in the 1970's and we watched wildlife documentaries, they would depict Elephants as big, aggressive, and dangerous. Adine has brought us these wonderful youtube videos demonstrating that Elephants are actually very social, very family orientated, and can be very gentle, when you gain their trust after EARNING their trust.

She is so special and so is her herd! The way she bravely approached them and they quickly accepted her is was so amazing. So much love and protection for her from all sides by the herd! How could anyone harm these animals???? You have brought all of us great joy and insight into this baby and her family/herd.

Look at the love these wonderful animals embraced this lost little baby into their herd. Khanyisa isn't frightened at all and happy to be in the loving circle of LOVE. Lundi is wonderful and sweet Mum for Khanyisa.

Ohh dit is zo emotioneel om weer te zien, vooral de 1e begroeting brengt tranen van vreugde , gewoon de gedachte dat ze niet meer alleen is, maar omringd door een nieuwe olifanten familie, maakt me blij. Ze is kind van allemaal. Hoe alleen is ze geweest zullen we nooit weten , ik ben enorm blij dat ze een plekje bij HERD heeft gevonden, het was niet eenvoudig, hard werken, uithuilen en verder gaan, maar kijk wat er bereikt is, een jonge gezonde blije olifant met een heel leven voor zich. Its so incredible how the elephants are all so involved in the care and safety of orphaned babies and one another, They all work so well as a collective team, - What I find most amazing is how they are all rescued strangers, , yet they they all tend to A D A P T to sanctuary life , and to each others needs , - indeed suckling is most soothing and comforting to the babies, You folks do a wonderful job of helping caring and loving your elephants - love that cute baby,.

The first introduction in the wild was my favorite. She was so excited she stopped, turned around and went pee then all the other elephants surrounded her with a protective wall.

All of the protection and love for Khanyisa shown by so many adults is so heart warming. What an amazing animal. Such love and care for the little one.

Yes. I think many of us will never forget this moment. They greeted her and immediately when into protecting mode. No hesitation, just a complete reaction on pure love and acceptance. I believe since that moment she became part of the herd and being the youngest came with an extra protection from all the adults. Right after that greeting she was no longer and orphan elephant. SHE WAS AND ALWAYS BE, PART OF THE JABULANI HERD. Thanks Adine and Crew. It still and wonderful journey that we wait for every morning.

The showing of the secretion of hormones from their temples in this welcoming of the calf is so noticable..the emotions are so noticeable, these are beautiful loving animals who feel love, emphaty, happiness, sadness, and also mourn their loss..Such intelligent beautiful amazing animals..

Just so heart-warming to watch and relive these moments. I especially love the first scene when Khanyisa was being introduced to the herd, and they all rushed to her, trumpeting with excitement, surrounding her within minutes, heads held high facing outwards, watching for any possible threat that might conceivably endanger their little orphan. And I will never tire of watching her baby trunk reaching up towards the mouths of her allomothers, but also the males, getting the scent of each herd member. Thank you for this!

I find it so compassionate that she was allowed to suckle, even though Lundi wasn't lactating. It goes to show how important it is for babies to have that source of comfort and bonding. It must've played a big part in healing from the emotional trauma of being abandoned by her herd. Not that they had any choice, they didn't. But it must've been horrible for her to be caught in that snare & left behind with all those predators roaming the bush. So happy she has a wonderful family with you, and the protection of both the herd & this wonderful team of humans. ❤🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘❤

I'm pleased to hear that Setombe has improved since her loss of Phabeni. Hearing how supportive the carers were for her is comforting. It was such a sudden, painful loss for Setombe, the rest of the herd, for the carers and other Herd staff. I'm thankful for all you do for each member of the herd.

The first clip in this video showing the bonding ceremony was viewed by more than a million people. When Setombe, Klaserie and Bubi gave the first "clarion call"🎺🎺🎺🐘🐘🐘the HERD came running from all directions. And look closely at how Meisiekind in deference and very instinctively, turned around and gave a little back bow--just like a good little girl. The whole video is just fantastic. Khanyisa has has a blessed life and we so are happy for her. She has the best of care because she is loved and she loves you in return.

This awesome compilation reminds me of how much I enjoy taking what HERD has taught us and watching intently to see what I can pick out, particularly about their communications. I didn’t know elephants use their trunks like we use our arms and hands, such as waving hello and goodbye, and motioning direction such as You go there, Over here and This way. Some things, I think I’d give my eye teeth to know, like in the last scene of Tokwe and Bubi with Khanyisa. The number of times Tokwe touches her trunk to Bubi’s mouth must be more than a greeting or a how are you. Is it maybe Stay right here or Don’t touch Khanyisa. I got a kick out of the 4:34 clip and Khanyisa not being one bit hesitant to express herself. All she wants to do is nurse on Bubi, but Limpopo? has the nerve to interrupt by sticking her trunk in K’s mouth, which elicits a scream that causes everybody to come running. Bubi moves away and K turns to follow, Tokwe touches her in the mouth, which elicits another protest and a shaking of her head to get Tokwe’s trunk away from her, lol. 5:45/46 - the herd is responding to K’s flight from the rhino and on the far right Fishan directs Mambo with his trunk to the sentry position he took and did a fine job of “You don’t want to mess with me to get to her”. It was thrilling to catch, as it happened so quickly. And poor Kumbura and the rains, having Timisa and Khanyisa under her charge. She wants to help Timisa, but she can’t leave Khanyisa. Meanwhile, Khanyisa is completely nonplussed and has taken an interest in digging around in the pile of brush, lol. They’re all so wonderful, and watching Khanyisa overcome her physical and emotional wounds has been a great pleasure in my life.
