If you ever have a chance you watch the B-roll of this scene, where it show's Troy and Ashley act this scene out in their mo-cap suits, you got to. Troy and Ashley just fucking kill it.

Instead of being mad that Ellie spoke of Sarah while don't know what Joel went through 20 years ago, Joel just couldn't forgive himself, as a father yet couldn't saved his daughter. So he closed himself from everything, until Ellie walk into his life, gave him a new hope, but also afraid he will lose another daughter, something he don't want to go through again.

Way better than what was depicted in the show. Same with the interrogation scene, in the game Joel seems truly terrifying, in the show, he lacks that.

I appreciate that they kinda knew they couldn't top game Joel, so they made a more depressed and downtrodden version. His ferocity, and honestly his cruelty is what drives those scenes. And without that you lose a big part of Joel. Part of what makes Joel so compelling is that he's not a good man

@stephengrigg5988 - If you really stop and think about it, what man can genuinely be called good? Everyone has made mistakes and done very shitty things. But what I like about Joel, at least from my perspective, is that it can be argued that he sacrificed the world, but on the other hand he also saved it - he saved the one person who was his world. I also like how the game doesn't opperate on the idea of: "Everyone has some decency in them," because it clearly shows, very true to life, that there are those who have truly no decency in them. They're completely selfish, self-centered, and self-serving, and at the end of the day, their selfish desires will always win out, like David for example.

The game version is so much better than the show version. Any time they did a scene in the show that was pulled straight from the game, it seemed like they were just saying words and rushing through it. The actors on the show did better in scenes which were original to the show rather than in scenes from the game version. Overall, though, I think the acting in the game was just better in every way.

I agree. Sadly, I didn’t feel the love for Joel from Bella Ramsey, the way I did from Ashley Johnson.

Ehhhh unless you count the Joel catching Ellie after David scene, where even the music has a unique, fractured trill until Ellie calms in his arms.

late answer but ellie was taken to a hospital to find a cure since shes immune but finding the cure would mean that she’d die so joel killed the doctors and stopped them and ellie was mad bc if it wasnt for joel saving her the cure would be made
@maddinpictures3102
@maddinpictures3102 2 месяца назад
Ellie is mad because she wanted to give a sense to her life by finding the cure even if she dies trough that operation. Joel took that of her when he decided to rescue her.

@@maddinpictures3102 Right, in a very essential sense this is the answer. Every time that someone she loved or cared for dies in Part I, it's because someone was bitten. To be immune in that situation, the survivor's guilt one might experience, and the questions of why me, are simply unimaginable. And I imagine every time it happened, it ripped open the wounds of losing Riley, thinking they would both die together, and then surviving by some insanely small odds. "I'm afraid of ending up alone." And because of the perspectives of human beings who love and care for each other, and the old wounds we carry, a choice was made for her which invalidated everything they fought for, and what Ellie might rationalize as what everyone she cared for died for.
