Well tbh I'm getting kind of fed up with your content, even though I put this song in a Spotify playlist immediately. It's always the exact same thing, while you also hide the way you play IRL by using the recorded version
I think your obnoxious ad campaign is destroying what little fan base you’ve managed to generate. All this evidence of you faking videos and pretending to play are going to bite you in the ass
They were both tracked over with the actual studio version of the track, but one had some filtering put on. You didn’t hear what these two played, you heard the studio version twice. Please don’t hype up this bs
Put it like this. The girl is the one you pull for the live set, no questions asked; the guy would definitely be the session drummer on the studio recording. Both were fantastic 👏🏾
This man walked around with a cowbell for 16 years, just to tap it twice in this very moment. Both were amazing! dude was smooth and the lady was creative with it.
First guy worked to create stable groove for the guitar and vocals. Second lady played freely like a jam session with tons of fills to show off the chops. Loved them both.
It’s harder for some people to see that with percussion and other “background” instruments without actually being a musician and or playing those instruments yourself to a degree. There are certain styles of music that are more percussion forward though, you should listen to some of them now that you’ve come to this realization :) it’s visceral
Drummers are so cool. My dad is an awesome drummer, one time he broke his drumstick and played one handed while he tried to get another one. He has so much passion and I love him for it. His band is great. Drummers have all of my respect.
Not true. He lagged a tiny bit and was playing an easier beat. 2nd drummer was just as in time if not more. And played a harder beat, used triplets, and was playing with a broken stick. And used the tom lol
@@camyeoman4180 I mean (assuming this isn’t totally staged which it probably is) if you saw a sign that says “best drummer wins $50” you would probably try to flex as much as you could right?
@@komo06 ok as a drummer triplets isn't hard the guy has more linear drumming and went with the song and it sounded more solid as the girl didn't really know what to play or so seemed to me as a drummer
I'm a drummer. They were both really really good, came from different backgrounds as well I can tell. The lady is probably more rock oriented, she was just having fun the whole time. The guy probably had more traditional experience, gave the song what it needed while also goofing around just a bit.
I’d also say the first guy had more precision and technical playing, and the second drummer had more fill focus and less complexity. I’d probably give it to the first guy cause it fit the vibe and feeling if the song better. The second drummer added some more emotion and feeing but not enough to make it stand out too much. They were both great, just the first guy felt more appropriate and had the style and skill you’d want to bring into the studio, the second drummer had that lively and fun style you’d want at a live show and in a rock band just lacking some of the complexity that would work better for the song.
@@grapesoda7075 lmao I don't understand all these people who clearly lack a proper feel and put precision/technicality over emotion. The first guy had barely any emotion in his playing and it made me feel nothing, no head bopping. 2nd drummer I instantly felt the emotion, bopped my head, felt life and soul. First one was really lifeless imo
@@Cybah hence why they clarified, studio VS live. In a studio recording, you're not gonna see what anybody's doing, you'll only hear what their playing sounds like. It's best to just do what's necessary and play it safe, and if they want more then they'll ask for more. In a live performance, part of your job is to get everyone hype and bring the energy. Everyone's having fun and it's all in the moment. that's why the 2nd one is good for live.
We had a piano, drums and a saxophone when I was growing up. I wish someone had mentored me to get lessons on one of them. They were my older siblings cast offs.
@@yoosh9034 playing to the song vs. overplaying the song. First one sounds better even though it's very basic because it compliments the guitar rather than compete with it.
But the girl was very humble as well in comparison to her skill - even if she’s not THAT good, shes no beginner either so it was a good move to not rate herself at all
I mean she was implying the she wasn't good enough to rate. There's pretty humble. But yes, they were both good. I think for most of the song, the first guy would have good and then at the climax, her part would be just perfect to bring it all together.
@@Winner1270 exactly hes a swinging dude too great player it takes people longer to appreciate the more laid back drummers than the ones with a lot of flare and chops
I didn't realise my assessment was probably influenced by my bass playing, both were good drummers but the first drummer played with the song and second drummer stood out too much.
@@shintaroiwata7732 as a person who has been learning drums for almost a year, i think it was at the beginning part but overall I love the both of them. They both have different styles which makes it unique in a way
She wasn't playing to be rated. She was playing for the fun of playing. She had a rad groove and is obviously super artistic! I dug her style. Just to think this was the first go around and she kicked ass. I'd say she passed the assignment! ... And I have no negativity toward the first drummer. He was rocking too. Super smooth. Polished. Way to go-both of them! Incomparable to me.
@@PimpPhilthe is definitely a more seasoned drummer, and he knows what to play and when to play it. She's not using dynamics and is adding unnecessary fills, which would disqualify her in a professional session drummer scenario.
Absolutely. Everyone is giving love to the first guy (and well-earned) but she killed it too. Could have been a little tighter on the hits (idk the words, I'm not a drummer, it just sounded a bit "loose") but I loved the rhythm of it, very fun.
I love the look of concentration on his face when he pieced together the core rhythm to go with, and then he just ran with it. He's a lot like 8bitdrummer - once he pieces together the core of a track, he can reliably drum along to it provided there's no insane twists and turns in the track.
@@KillerPassifist Thats just what any half decent drummer can do. If youve been playing for a reasonable amount of time it isnt difficult to pick out a beat to play to a pop song
Nah that’s just the difference between someone who has more experience vs someone with not as much. Based on the guys confidence sounds like he’s maybe played for less than 5 years or possibly longer but not seriously the whole time. But it’s enough to where he can recognize the time signature and the overall flow of the song in just 2 measures and can come up with a simple groove to lay down that fits the song. The girl more represents someone newer who can definitely play pretty decently, but has little or no experience with coming up with their own drum parts to an existing song. She likely only plays along to existing drum parts so she didn’t really know how to come up with something of her own, which explains why she went more for “fancy” fills and played a little louder because she has less experience in being able to match a groove to a song and stay behind the music without being lost. She’s still absolutely decent, but it just means she’s less experienced
To be fair, the only ay to get that money is to show off. Sure, the song works better with the first one, but there's a reason it's called SHOWING off.
@@Mrkti yeah absolutely no shade towards the second drummer, she's great but her fills and groove didn't really fit the song, which is what playing along to a song is all about
@@ranguntnt8732 in that case it's up the creator to be objective and recognize whose style fit his song better. The "challenge" was to play along with the song not just sit there and do some fills so if that were me I'd definitely go with the first guy. If this was a simple "who sounds cooler on their own behind the kit" then the girl definitely would take the W
I like them both but what I like the most is that he always find the people who play the instrument. If I had to ask people if they could play any instrument like that , it would've probably taken me a thousand years to find one .😮😮😮
Some how you made a double compliment into a sexist comment. Not only did you be like “you killed it girl” but clearly ignored the first guy by saying that acting like it all was about her.
I preferred the first drummer more. He plays cleanly, and I think it suits the song better. Don’t get me wrong, the second drummer was also good. But when playing with other musicians it’s important to keep in mind that you, the drummer should not be the center of attention in this situation.
Not saying you do this consciously, but ive been noticing men play down women when they clearly perform "better" in these videos. I play drums and personally i think the 2nd one did "better" given what the video was about
@@kimsanghyuk97 Not saying you do this consciously, but ive been noticing people play down men when they cleary perform "better" in these videos. I do not play drums but I do hear a lot of people talking all day and whenever a contest is between two sexes, the one that say the men did better are called bigots. Probably why so much women feel like the world as something to give them for a reward with so much pats on the back
Both of the drummers are great and I don’t think either of you are hateful on men or women I just think that there’s a different preference and idea on what is “good”. The situation with men and women is just built up anger that is just making a swinging pendulum because men had been unjustly judging women for years and now women unjustly judge men. I hope people can come to a point of seeing people as people rather than “lesser people” or people assuming the worst when they read only one little comment that the person made. There’s no facial or physical image for you to know what the intent truly is.
I scrolled through a lot of comments but no one here mentions how she just kept on playing even though the drumstick broke a bit. That's professionalism right there! :D
1st drummer followed the song's aesthetic/vibe much better which, to me, is more important. But the 2nd got their groove on which is also pretty fun and great.
@@deadshot4245 The drummers job is not to create a unique rhythm on every bar. The first drummer did a great job tying the song together and letting the vocals and guitar shine.
@@jdg5209 yes because i called it for what it was. is it bad? no not at all. would it be what i wouldve chosen to do? nope. hence why i put me off because the repetition that buries the song behind the drums instead of helping it groove
@@nathanmurphy4374 yes exactly its also the drummers job to serve the song only one drummer did that why i said playing the same fill every other bar doesnt help it showcases lack of understanding and awareness of how to create tangible music
Dude kept beat, but she WON.its just So coincidental these amazing musicians are wandering around that street. My ex played in NYC subways, and couldnt find a drummer anywhereThis HAS to be prearranged.❤
I loved watching the two playing because they were so different, the guy exactly know what and how to play with that song type, the girl less but did some cool moves
Tbh I think the first one is better. The drums compliment the other instruments better then the second and doesn’t get carried away which is a common mistake drummers make. Both are still good and deserve the credit they got. Remember, it is best to support the other instruments then it is to go crazy on you instrument.
Both drummers were awesome and amazing. They both had their own style and made you feel the song in different ways. First one was like listening to the radio going down the highway grooving while singing with it. The second one was like being at a concert and dancing with it, while singing to it. Both were unbelievable drummers who can kick a**. I love this song and praying that you release it, if you haven’t already. I pray that you got their information from them.
