It is hard for me to believe that I have been grinding it out in Costa Rica now for over FIVE years. And while the fishing hasn’t always been the best I have made it a point to surround myself with the not just the best anglers I can find, but also the best human beings as well. Was 30 min south of Tamarindo this week. Almost got killed on the rocks... you need a boat to fish in CR!

@@danhasson8548 Just watch the water. The swells get big fast. Understand the tides and wave forecast. Before you clamber onto any rocks, spend some time looking at the water and get a sense for how big waves will interact with what you are planning on standing on.

Hello . Im planning a trip to stay at my in-laws place in coco beach. I’m a serious fly fisherman from BC I have experience with all my local species. I’m just wondering if shore fishing can be decent in January/ February. And what kind of gear I need? I have a many rods 7wt single hand ,a 7wt Switch and a 9wt full Spey, do you think that’ll do or should I get a heavier single hand ?

My 9wt Spey can handle 40 lb chinook salmon in good river current
