The slow motion video with your voice over and soft music track worked great. The slow mo allowed for just a second or two longer to see all the finishes...perfect.
Great seeing you tonight on the Endless RVing live stream show. Thanks for taking the time to do that. You have great chemistry with Izzy, MJ and Matt.
A year ago, the only thing that kept me from buying one of these, is the fact that there was such a long waiting list to get one. So, I spent some time looking around and decided to look at Leisure Travel Vans Unity model. Quality vs the Airstream? From my research, identical. A (very) few feature differences. And, for our purposes, much better floor plans available with the Unity. Decided to put in an order for the Unity. Still, a 1-year wait. But, for a $100,000 difference, it was a no-brainer.
WOW...Really nice and EXPENSIVE...WAAAAY out of my league...For those that can afford and want it that is great...You will have bragging rights...Thanks Andrew...
Money no object.....to have just because you can 😆. What a great rig if that were the case and you wanted something just for day trips. Your walk thru videos Andrew are second to none 👍
Airstream builds a nice RV, but this coach is way, way overpriced. I mean I can buy a brand new 37' diesel pusher for the same price. I suspect the original owners of this coach discovered that it's just too small and cramped. I know, I've had two Sprinter-based coaches.
Beautiful Class B+, the nicest one IMO. Before C-19 you could get a new Atlas TB for 199k. These days 199 for a slightly used unit is a bargain because the dealers are totally cleaned out. Airstream can sell every unit they make for full list. Maybe a small discount if your lucky.
Airstream is all glitz. That's nice if that's what you want. They are way behind on technology though. Still using lead acid and generators ipo lithium, propane ipo compressor fridges, low OCCC ratings, nice looking but cheaply constructed cabinetry. If I were purchase a B van in that price range. I would consider ARV. Get the glitz and the technology.
wow Andrew, Westworld sure looks different on your videos without Barrett Jackson being there, I did love the atlas that your dad was showing at this past show. I have had three different Mercedes airstreams over the years I started off with the Autobahn (this is a rare coach as it has all seats... but was great for family driving vacations) and then I replaced that with the grand tour which is just a two-seat version that has the larger capacity sink, etc. (turned out that was not a good purchase when you have four family members on a road trip) and now I currently have a Interstate lounge it has the four seats and I am currently driving it as we speak to California from the Midwest (actually pulled over in Flagstaff to type this) I agree that the airstream sprinter is not for everyone, they are extremely overpriced when compared to what you could get for the money in a used full-size class A or B. I’ve never had any problem with any of the three sprinter airstreams that I have owned, we have several sprinter vans for our work vans as well, the major problem we have had with the Mercedes is the DEF sensors.... we have never had a Mercedes sprinter that has over 90 to 100,000 miles that did not have DEF sensor issues and that gets expensive we usually try to sell them if they get anywhere near the 100 K mark. I do like the 2020 versions of the Mercedes with the redesigned dash and front and rear exterior but it is also a coach that is now made in the United States versus made in Germany and actually assembled in the US in the past. At some point I will look into a newer airstream sprinter but with all of the teething issues that have happened with the newly redesigned sprinter vans manufactured in the US we are going to wait a few years until all of the kinks get worked out. We unfortunately bought two 2020 sprinter vans (made in the US) that could not be driven because of recalls that Mercedes had and they literally sat at our office for eight months before they could be fixed. At some point on down the road I would like to look into a used Newell (I live less than an hour from the factory in Oklahoma) or Prevost
I hear you! I just sold my 2014 sprinter cargo van with 72k miles a couple weeks ago. I knew that issue was coming so dumped it. I feel your pain. Prevost or Newell is the way to go! for you being in OK, I would go Newell all the way. safe travels!
Nice to se...Idk about the electronics and appliance and all workings mentions as being behind..but the layout and everything it has..it equals a Mini C like on the Ford transit... almost for room...almost. You just do a great job. Truly enjoy your videos and i hate folks who same things around too hard..not knowing their strength. Like it..know B vans are spendy...I have to start much lower as lightly used whatever I decide God willing and I know my fund limit. I think you did a great job for your A Class Diesel and redoing was wow..great and brought it up to most current design and will help you not loose too much on your next trade depending on how long you choose to own it..it is wonderful. I understand these B's are so great because they are most like a second vehicle..b8t once you are out there..Just one of these 24 foot with the minivan so mini-c but a real RV attached,,,I am considering a used one of those when time..will not work visiting a couple of places..one requiring25 feet and one requiring no RV's when the van MAY be allowed...I decided still for my use..these little C's on Van Chassis and uses a little and gas for first RV Is where I will start...but those are lovely and tempting..would need to know real quality at this price..whew..that is a lot even though barely used and a discount. Be well and thanks again for another great video!!
Start is the MSRP price you can take off anywhere from 25 to 40% depending on the season then they're asking $200,000 for your Old Coach you can subtract subtract at least Thirty 40% off at and that will give you I'm almost fair price way overpriced a lot of the material is not top of the line but leave it up to the buyer in the sales and I'm sure he'll convince somebody that's a good deal you did a great job though thank you
Too high for a used Atlas. However; The Tommy Bahamas Editions were discontinued by Airstream after 2019, so that may make it more sought after, especially in this market. It would also depend on the mileage on the vehicle as well. I wouldn't pay that much for an Atlas, they way too much for the Sprinter van and you have all that storage with a low carrying capacity.
What was the mileage? Some people want a high end coach this size if you do a lot of state parks, Corp of engineer parks where a class A just won’t fit. But that said the price seems crazy.
Paying for Airstream quality and class Bs are usually more expensive for their size. I also think you’re paying for the factory to put in 5lbs of stuff in a 2lb bag. Also with a B you’re going to be hella more able to go more places. It’s all a trade off.
I like Airstreams and this is beautiful but it's still basically a car and will depreciate like a car. Even if the interior stays fresh the engine, suspension and mechanicals will wear out with the miles. It's not built like a diesel pusher and like someone else said you are in that price territory. Some of the upper end Airstream travel trailers have the same interior as this but will hold their value longer because there is no engine.
$200K for a slightly used Class B seems extraordinarily high - there just isn’t $200K worth of real estate in this coach, compared to a used bus conversion for the same money.
the Mercedes chassis sucks your paying for the prestige it has less than 200 hp 188 i think and the cargo capacity 988 lbs is very very low you can buy a honda accord with more horsepower and it doesn't weigh 11,000 lbs
The Ford Transit is a nice option to thr Sprinter at a lower cost. Gas and diesel availability. Likely over time the Fird will take sales from the Sprinter as lower initial cost combined with lower maintenance cost. Compare and make your own decision
I would buy an old Prevost for same or less; and if you do not know how to drive 45', learn. No way I would pay that for so little. Even being a nice build, it is NOT 230K nice. Crazy!
You waste too much time showing us the same outside again and again and again. There is a LOT you could have edited out (showing us while you try to figure out where to sit the camera down??? Crazy waste of time.)
